Some of the other moving companies I contacted never returned my voicemail. We got my move scheduled a few weeks before it was to happen. This was very easy with me discussing the details with Pam as well as texting her photos of the rooms and larger items. There were some blips in the delivery of the Pod and I am so grateful that Pam was able to reschedule with such short notice. Our move was a bit more complex. Double D's had to meet us at a location in Camp Hill to pick up a truck full of furniture. This was brought to our Harrisburg home. And then this as well as everything in our house was loaded into a 16 foot pod. Part of the reason I picked double D's was because of their glowing reviews and their ability to load a POD very tight. They exceeded expectations and used every bit of the pod from floor to ceiling. (A 16 foot POD is for a house up to 1400 ft.². This of course doesn't include your basement, attic, and garage.) They did an amazing job! We had a few items that did not fit and we expected this because a 16" pod is not as big as you expect it to be. (No big deal because we will drive them at another date to our new location.) They then drove these items back to the Camp Hill address where we could store them. The price was very fair. Moving in and of itself is challenging enough but in our case we needed to remotely coordinate this from San Diego. My husband found Tony (Maya's Movers) online and from our very first interaction we just KNEW this was the right fit for us. I was back there for the move itself and had the absolute pleasure of working with Maya's. They were: courteous, professional, punctual, enthusiastic, personable and a JOY every step of the way. The morning of the move, they were there right on time (early, in fact) and ready to go!!! The entire team of four movers, one of which was the crew chief Keobi (sp?) were amazing!!! Let's be honest. Moving is not fun work....it's demanding, it's physically exhausting and 100% of the time you have clients micro-managing every move you make just waiting for the opportunity to complain about one little thing or another-lol I CANNOT overstate how professional these fine workers were. Every one of them worked tirelessly and did not complain or relent once! As I mentioned, they had to move 50 years worth of belongings in a home that had both an attic (with a low, pitched ceiling) and a basement with narrow, open stairs. Tony even stopped by during the process to introduce himself and see how things were moving along. Other than recommending them to friends who are Realtors back there, I don't know how else to thank them enough. They were absolutely lovely every step of the way and exceeded our already lofty expectations. If I had any criticism at all? It would be that they don't charge enough for the service they provide. Then when I called them out on it and canceled my request, they were absolutely fine with losing my business. Then claimed they suddenly were too busy to confirm my request/business. However, all they needed to do was tell me that, instead of dropping me when I was organizing my move. I'm sure they are great IF you can get them scheduled, but my trust in their ability to communicate is gone so am looking elsewhere. I will leave an example of their "excuse" just so you know who you are dealing with when setting up your move.

A quick appointment, they were efficient and we're really happy with the work and vibe of the movers. True attention to detail, great stuff. We will absolutely keep their card and use them again. We had a mix of many different things - from old, worn furniture, to old electronics to old paint and many other miscellaneous things. After doing some research, we found AIS Junk Removal. I spoke to Anthony who was fantastic. He was very accommodating, reasonably priced, on time (even a few mins early!), flexible and very easy to work with.
