I later find out from my friend at the drop-off location gave them their caster cups to the guys. But the guys didn't give them to me. After calling Michelle, she said the guys got the cups and put it in the bench and the cups are in poor condition. This was not true, because before the guys left they opened the bench and put in their business card, the bench was empty then. So they could have just installed old caster cups for me. But instead, they were upselling the life-time warranty one and when I pass, they downsell me a cheaper no warranty one, and then left and never gave me the old cups. There was also basic floor protection during the process which also surprised me a little and kind of funny. Since they care so much about the caster cups protecting the floor.

Over the years, we have worked with nearly every piano moving company you can think of. Gohns is by far the best company we have encountered, and we now use them exclusively. Their movers are consistently competent, careful, and kind, with extensive knowledge of pianos, so I never have to worry about damage to the lyre or about the wrong legs being installed. They are the only moving company I trust, and I always recommend them.

I have used Congressional Piano movers three times now. I hesitate to give a poor review to a small…read morebusiness, but if you choose to use this company, you should be aware that the scheduling/booking process is extremely poorly managed and unreliable. The movers themselves are excellent and competent, and have moved my upright piano in and out of some very tricky spaces (with stairs and sharp turns). So if you have a tough move, they will most likely be able to do it. However. Two out of the three times I have booked with them there has been a major mix-up with my booking. The first time, I called weeks in advance and booked a date. I asked for an email confirmation but never received one. I called a week out to confirm, and found that they had completely lost my reservation. They could not come on the day I booked, which caused a big issue with moving out of an apartment. I chose to use them again the next time I moved, because I know the movers do their jobs well. (I now feel that this was a mistake). This most recent time, after I had made it clear in my booking that it needed to be after noon because of my work schedule, I was essentially guilt-tripped into moving my time slot to very early in the morning, because they had managed their own schedule poorly. When I booked initially, it also took several emails and phone calls to get a confirmation email from them, which I had hoped would guarantee that they didn't try to change my time. Obviously that didn't work. I want to support these folks as a family-run business. But I will never book with them again after the stress and hassle it requires every single time. Update - And this is fun, even though my piano move was on December 11, they have only just now charged my card for the several hundred dollar charge, on December 21. When I paid, I had to read my credit card number over the phone to someone. So I guess my credit card number has been sitting, written down on a piece of paper in their office, for 10 days. And they only just now remembered to charge it, with no notice. Extremely unprofessional.

Do not use Congressional Piano Movers, mixed up the date in which they were suppose to come, did…read morenot confirm that they were coming, and did not pick up the phone.

We were moving our parents into a personal care apartment. We had a rough idea when they were going…read moreto be released from rehab but the date kept changing. I was desperate to find a mover. The first mover I contacted talked a great game but in the end my spidey sense kicked in and I realized it must be a scam as he asked me several times within an hour for his deposit of $250. I later found reviews that said he took the money and never showed up. Now I'm really in trouble - as far as I knew, my parents could be released any day without much advanced warning. I went back to my Yelp reviews and decided to contact Mount Wolfe. I messaged the company and shortly heard back from Dwayne. I told him what I needed (it wasn't a huge amount of stuff - not too hard of a local move.) He gave me a quote almost immediately and it was a firm set price. The price included what most movers charged extra for - tax, mileage, fuel surcharge and many more items that could take a reasonable rate into something sky high. We added a few pieces to my original inventory list and let Dwayne know, expecting an increase in price. Once again, Dwayne reiterated that this is a flat rate. We finally had a tentative release date, by now we were only a few days out. Dwayne was so very flexible for us. Then we found out there was a move in "window" that we had to fall into. Once again, Dwayne changed our time to fit our schedule. In fact, the day of, they even came earlier to make sure we met the window. They arrived in a big uhaul which made us a little quizzical but if you think about over head costs, for a small business, it might be a more cost effective way of controlling overhead. Whatever, it did the job. I stayed back, cleaned a little, ran a few errands and got to our drop of site. I was maybe 45 minutes behind and when I got there they were just about done emptying the truck. (They squeezed right through that window.). My brother had taken everything apart at home but all three of them got everything put back together, placed where we wanted it (with a few "maybe over there, wait, no over there..." adjustments.) And like that, the move had been made. Nothing broken, scratched or missing. All the wrapping undone and taken away. Just like Dwayne promised, nothing additional. No surprises. Though it was by far the smallest move I've ever overseen, it was by a stretch the easiest one. I will use Mount Wolfe anytime I have to make a move. They really were the best.

Dwayne had agreed to pay me back on the move multiple times if I removed the reviews on Yelp and Google. I have yet to receive my full refund. So these reviews will stay up. This move was $3050 he only refunded me $200 bucks. Which saids alot about his character and how much he values his business. The reply message in the review is just to sound good and somewhat professional. Dwayne truly care less about all the damage he and his crew caused. If he cared he would've immediately sent the refund to avoid the reviews.
