I've been looking for a boxing centric gym for awhile and there wasn't any in boca for quiet some time. Then i saw online 9round just opened a location in boca so I signed up for a free class to check them out. They called me the next day to finalize when I was gonna come in and let me know what to bring (water, normal gym clothes etc). This location can be a little hard to find because you don't see it from the street. it's behind 5 spice asian market. I got there expecting a class type situation but that's not there setup. It's a 9round circuit. there are 1-2 trainers out on the floor helping you transition between exercises and coaching you. you are at each "round" for 3 minutes then u switch to the next "round" and just work the circuit. in between rounds the trainer gives you a 30 second exercise to do (ex- squat, plank etc). Your done with your workout in 30 minutes. so there's no set class time. you get there at anytime they are open (obviously at least 30 mins before they close) and you just join the circuit. I signed up for a no contract 8 week summer program they have right now. I can go unlimited for 8 weeks (even twice a day if I want), then decide if I want to commit to contract. They also have month by month pricing. The prices are a bit high for me so I will see if I swing the costs after the 8 weeks. the sign up came with boxing gloves, wraps, and a 9round backpack. I've gone twice since I signed up and I am looking forward to going tomorrow. I wish they had better weekend hours but it's typical of gyms to only have half days on the weekends.

The best part is you don't have class times - just show up when you want to get a great workout in. No excuses! No rushing to get there before or after work! No charges for missing or cancelling a class! The flexibility is amazing, and you get your butt kicked in 30 min. How could you go wrong? The heart rate monitor keeps you engaged (and feeling proud after a workout because you can see your calories burned and cardiovascular progress). During COVID, the owner Josh has done so much to make sure you feel safe and comfortable. They sanitize every piece of equipment after each use, plus the stations are solo and spread out from other members who might be working out at the same time. Definitely give this place a try!

I wanted a workout that was challenging enough to satisfy the fitness junkie in me but paced enough that I wouldn't burn out. I was jumping back into a structured workout regiment after 3 years away from a group fitness setting so it was important that everyone was welcoming. I could not have asked for a better group of trainers and gym goers as well. Everyone is really nice, friendly and encouraging. And I always get a good workout here. You can book classes through their app, which is really easy to download and use. Unlike other places (looking at you OrangeTheory), you get some grace with canceling if necessary. Of course, they don't encourage cancellations but they do offer some grace if it happens so you can keep the sessions you pay for. Also, you can text the trainers to let them know what's going on and they actually answer. Things to know: The music is great but it varies from trainer to trainer. Love hip hop? Take Stephanie's classes. Love Latin-inspired music? Damian is your dude. Prefer a rock/hip hop mix? Then Chris is your man. They are obsessive about cleanliness. This is one of the main reasons I feel comfortable coming here. They are really on the ball as far as cleanliness goes. That's a plus at this point. Each class is taught by a trainer who cares about you getting the best workout possible. Seriously. You don't have to worry about only one person being good while everyone else is mediocre. They all bring something unique and care immensely about their students. I could go on but really I have found a great way to workout and a new gym home! I encourage you to try a free class or free week to see what it's all about. You will not be disappointed.

I read the reviews for IntensityX3 and decided to check it out since I always love a good kickboxing class. Since it was my first time there I had to take a 25 minute new members class with Ivy. There was one other newbie boxer in attendance and she went thru some of the punches and kicks she would be calling out in the 50 minute class that followed. While I've boxed before it was super helpful since there were a lot of different punches and kicks in the actual class. The 50 minute class was packed and clearly with many regulars. Ivy taught this as well and the first half of the class was kickboxing. She took us thru many high energy routines - it was fun and we broke a sweat! The second half of the class was all butt/legs. It was a great combo of cardio and strength and I left bummed that i was headed back to Chicago later that day since I wanted to go again. I"ll definitely be back next time I head home to South Florida! The studio itself isn't easy to find! They are located in the back of the Office Depot plaza, although the other side of Office Depot. Turn left before the Public Storage Building and look for the black awning. I had trouble, but called them and they stayed on the phone with me giving me solid directions. The only thing I didn't love was doing this workout barefoot, which they claim is better for your feet. I prefer to workout in shoes, especially when kicking backs and working with heavy weights. Perhaps it's just something I need to get used to, but everything else was solid!

I went to several different gyms and had him try out a free class to see where he felt most comfortable. Christian Carvalho was the ONLY place that offered a full week trial for free. Sensei Christian said he offered a full week for free, because that was the only way to truly see if the kids would be interested in the sport. One day would not be enough. That made total sense!!! They worked in a team of 3 adults and about 12 kids ages 4-7, I believe. Older kids are separated in different classes. You can tell that the kids really enjoy their time there. And you can see the respect that they have for their coaches. The coaches work with each kid individually and really make them feel special. I am so in love with this gym!!! My son does jujitsu Mon & Fri. On Wednesday they switch it up and do kick boxing. He absolutely loves it. It's worth every penny. He comes home after lessons and is so excited to show Daddy what he learned. What a great way to boost your kid's self esteem and confidence.
