The pork and chicken were absolutely delicious, though the steak was a bit bland. As for the langoustines from the seafood vendor? They were incredible! We also grabbed some drinks at the bar, and the bartender was exceptionally kind. They were out of Christmas beer, but he went above and beyond, heading to the back to find a small pour for us to try. It was such a thoughtful gesture! Food: A small menu: 3 choices of starter, 3 choices of entrees, and 3 choices of desserts. Keep in mind that ONE person does all of the cooking, the serving, bussing tables, filling water glasses. I chose the duck and pork rillette as my starter, followed by a piece of roasted pork shoulder served with lentils, tomatoes, and olives. Others chose a lovely pan-roasted piece of white fish, or half a roasted local game bird (pigeon-like). Each dish was pretty and precise, but not at all fussy. Other starters included a warm goat cheese salad and asparagus with a mousseline sauce. Only one person in our party of seven had room for dessert - creme brulee - and I couldn't bring myself to have another bite (but it looked great). The food was so well-prepared and tasty that it was the perfect ending to what had been a long day. Service: As mentioned above, this was a one-man show. And frankly, I'd pay double for the show that we got. We were a party of 7, and there were three more small groups dining at the same time. We never had a long wait for anything, and service was friendly and welcoming. Vibe: Hamlet-would-eat-here-chic. Intimate dining room, tiny-but-eclectic bar, and a water-front yet still dimly-lit dining room for some fantastic ambience. And I was there for a work dinner! We got the coffee (chai lattes included if that's more yo style) + cake special for 64 kr. I know it sounds on the pricey side but there are so many factors goin' for it: the slices are humonnngous, the presentation is lovely (the pistachio crumbles were a nice touch), and the beans are top notch (my americano was supa smooth). Service warm as well - from the patient baristas (ours walked over to the front of the display to patiently explain every glorious flavor of pie) to André himself seeing us out, we felt welcome the whole duration of our stay (+ free tap water & wifi wassup). No matter what kind you choose out of the 7-8 different ways they prepare the old middle-eastern brew, you're sure to be delighted. I usually took a small double shot latte, or a Flat-White (milk-coffee ratio depicted). Perfectly prepared and executed. They have croissant, pain au chocolate and various chocolates and cookies to go with your coffee. They have a cozy courtyard for the smokers and outside people. They roast their beans themselves on site, and you can buy a bag for your own espresso machine if you wanna bring the magic home (Please don't tell me you have a Nespresso machine....).
