Ohhhh man Cafe André is the perfect afternoon pick-me-up stop!!…read more The cake & pie display is MAJORLY drool-worthy. We shared the passionfruit buckthorn (a bestseller, sounds exotic & tastes divine) + key lime pie (with a hefty + heavenly layer of torched meringue). You really can't go wrong with any of them: I just as easily could have downed the nougat espresso or coconut or homestyle apple pie or carrot cake oh please take me back. We got the coffee (chai lattes included if that's more yo style) + cake special for 64 kr. I know it sounds on the pricey side but there are so many factors goin' for it: the slices are humonnngous, the presentation is lovely (the pistachio crumbles were a nice touch), and the beans are top notch (my americano was supa smooth). Service warm as well - from the patient baristas (ours walked over to the front of the display to patiently explain every glorious flavor of pie) to André himself seeing us out, we felt welcome the whole duration of our stay (+ free tap water & wifi wassup). This place is an absolute gem. Go to Helsingør for the castle & stay for the cake.

I walked to the mall across the street from the Experimentarium and as I walked inside, I was pulled into this chic looking coffee place with the aroma of freshly brewed espresso. The coffee bar is straight at the entrance. I ordered a cup of double shot Latte and Chicken and oats savory baked dish which I can't remember. The Ambience: They have seating both inside and outside. On a warm day, the waterfront would look quite amazing if you choose an outside seat. The ambience inside felt like something out of an architectural magazine. It opens up to the waterfront with a lot of natural light. Each table has an assortment of floral and shrub design. The silver leaf eucalyptus gave off a faint fragrance as I sat on the table. There are rows of table in the center, The tea-lamp light and the floral vase on them gave a feeling like it was a wedding table with the centerpiece and all. The food: The coffee was served in a beautiful cup. The snack plate too was beautiful looking. I was hungry and devoured the chicken and oat snack. It had a little less salt for my taste but it was otherwise delicious. I took a look at the brunch menu and it looks like something I'd have to come and try some other time. You get to choose between 5 or 7 options priced at 135 DKK ($20 USD) or 165 DKK ($24 USD) between bakery, eggs, fruit and greens, meat and fish, sweet dishes. (Check out the menu here: https://www.wogk.dk/menu) The brunch is served on a wooden board. All in all it makes for a very instagrammable meal. I've added this place to the list of places to visit again when I'm in Copenhagen. It's one of those places where you can sit with a good book and a coffee and spend half a day.

I ordered two smorrebrods - the fish filet and the shrimp and egg. Both were out of this world and huge portions!!! We had also ordered a child burger and an adult burger but the waitress messed up and we only received a child burger which was completely fine since it was huge! My husband and our three year old and I all shared the three dishes and we were super full. With a beer and two Apple juices our bill came out to approximately $43 USD. Great meal and terrific prices.

There's no doubt that Grannys has quality bread and pastries plus they also have a really nice…read moreinterior at this location. Many different colours, different types of furniture from different eras and paintings all mixed (and not matched) throughout the room. When I got visitors I usually take them here to grab some breakfast. We have tried the breakfast buffé and were not huge fans, but they have a menu where you can choose between a couple of sandwiches and some salads. It can be really crowded at times which makes it hard to find a place to sit and it also makes the noise level very high. They do have a back area where the breakfast buffé is served with some extra (not as cozy) tables, but this is also the childrens area, so the sound level is, as you probably can imagine, not much lower here. ;) It can be crowded not only where you sit down to enjoy your food, but also when you stand in line to order. And since they don't take orders at the table this often results in a long queue squeezed in between the front window and the cashiers desk. Not only is it a tight fit when trying to get your order through but escaping that queue in the other direction can be a nightmare which makes it all a bit stressful. On top of that, the prices are quite high. I mean, they do have quality products, but for the hassle mentioned above it does take away from the overall experience as well. All in all, it is a place where I bring guests once to check out the nice interior and enjoy a good sandwich and some coffee out of old granny style cups. If you want to go somewhere to work / chill out there are better places.
