Great prices, kind staff, extremely fast checkout service, and a quality that is honestly quite shocking for the neighborhood it's in. This is a great little gem grocery store that stands out among the others in East Baltimore. The huge bonus however is their hot bar. The variety and amount of fresh cooked food that one can get at better prices than a cafe, faster service than a fast food joint, and with better health than half the "healthy" restaurants in this city is honestly amazing. Would you like more fabulous fiesta in your grocery shopping routine? Do I have the store for you!! Streets is located in the newly gentrified section of the Bayview area on Eastern Avenue. The listing says "Greektown" and I admit I'm not an expert on where neighborhoods begin or end, but there's really nothing Greek going on in this shopping area. Loud Latin music greets you at the door, and the chill from air conditioning rolls out onto the sidewalk. A small, but decent produce section is on the left. Aisles and aisles of American and international items on the right. I find it odd that the freezer section isn't against a wall, but within those aisles. The ice cream section is lacking, in my opinion, but I lean towards cheaper store brands, and those don't seem available here. I've never really checked out the meat because the prices in this store are a bit much for me. I try to stick to items I have difficulty finding elsewhere, or that I need immediately. Today we stopped in for scallions and were surprised to find they were 5 for $5. Really beautiful ones, too. We also picked up a couple other necessities for tomorrow's stab at Chinese-American sweet and sour chicken. They were out of oyster sauce, but those kinds of ingredients aren't the specialty of the store, so we shrugged it off. I also feel like the hot sauce section could use some work. Found a nice chipotle Yucatan one, though, to replace the one I finished from my own collection last week (SO great on chicken wings, let me tell you). I like this store. I just started seeing Streets market popping up in different locations but not sure if they're all relatively the same. However, the one I went to had a variety of Hispanic and Asian items from produce to household items like pots and shot glasses. This location was fairly clean and the best section I think was the meats section. They offered a nice variety of marinaded meats although we did not buy any during this trip. The reason for my 3 star rating was for the price and quality of other items. Some of their items were very pricey. For example, a stack of corn tortillas were $10 and bags of fries were almost $7 which are double/triple the cost from places like Giant. Some of the quality of items were questionable as well. I picked up several bags of bread and cookies and majority of them had mold and the expiration dates were passed by almost 3-5 days. If you're in a pinch and need a more ethnic item, this place is not a bad place to check out but definitely check the items before you purchase anything! read more

This store has an interesting assortment of products including general, Hispanic and some middle eastern groceries. The hot and cold prepared foods are also pretty decent. The have a tasty curry chicken salad that is pretty unique. I have come across a few out of date products, but that is true in many places. The line can move slowly when they are crowded, but usually I can get straight out. They do have some upscale items and really do try to cater to everyone in diverse neighborhood. I love their variety of pasta sauces and fresh fruit. This is easier than going to a bigger market like Safeway and still has great selection. read more

Overall very excited to have a Streets in the neighborhood. I had never been in one and was pleasantly surprised by the product diversity, prices, and overall setup! They have a great international food selection (beyond the standard one aisle). Lots of Hispanic, Indian, and Asian items that the standard grocery store doesn't have. They have a large fresh produce section and great prepared food, the sushi and chicken salad I've tried have been great. There's a nice butcher area and fresh fish department although service attentiveness can sometimes be a bit delayed. They have lots of fresh whole fish options available for you to pickup using tongs which is cool. The butcher area has delicious looking marinated Hispanic meats (like al pastor) which I'm excited to try! The managers have been super friendly as well as the staff. They said to let them know if there's any items I'd like to see (TAHARKA ICE CREAM PLEASE)! I tried some of the fresh tamales and while the flavor was good, I did find bones in 2 of them which isn't ideal, so seems like whoever is picking the chicken needs to take a bit more time and care. They have a large meat department with lots of interesting cuts of meat so if you're looking for something specific I recommend checking this out. I wish some of the aisles were a bit wider as you can really only fit one cart down them. read more

I come to this location often because I work close by, and at first I absolutely loved this supermarket! They have a wide selection of fresh produce and frozen food options. Like others have mentioned, the hot bar and prepared meals are delicious! My favorites were the general tso chicken and the sushi (surprisingly! but now I hesitate, read on). Much better quality rolls than you see from most other grocery stores and will satisfy a quick craving for sure. The international food options are also extensive, with a focus on Latin and Asian foods. I love this about the store. The dairy selection is more modest, and you can see inflated prices on a lot of the processed foods. For example, the produce here is insanely fresh and super duper cheap (also love this!). However a bag of tortilla chips can cost $3-$5 more than it does at other grocers! That I don't love, but I just purchase those things elsewhere and it's not a problem. If this is your main grocery store however, the prices can definitely add up. All that aside, the reason for this low rating is the freshness (or lack of) in the meat aisle. I just got home with chicken purchased from here, and it is rancid! Immediately stunk up my house when I opened it. This is the THIRD TIME this has happened to me with meat purchased from this Streets. Once it was a package of Jimmy Dean breakfast sausage, and twice it was the chicken breast. I don't know if it's a refrigeration issue or what, but my trust in their meat selection is totally gone. It's a shame because it's so easy to stop by here after work. No more. Perhaps this also happens at other stores and it's just removed from shelves before customers catch it. If that's the case, management needs to have staff checking the aisles way more often, because I have seen moldy bread and I have seen bad meat. Someone could get really sick! Beautiful new store with a wide selection of seafood and international foods not easily found in other stores. The produce, seafood, sushi, and vegan bakery selection was especially impressive to me. Very clean, bright--freezing--, well organized... very friendly employees and management has done several reach outs to the surrounding community associations to see how they can better accommodate our shopping requests. I for one am happy Streets is finally here/ open! read more

While the supermarket offers ton of international selections I found my fruit to be over ripen and spoiled when I got home. I live a bit too far to go back to return so I just tossed the fruit unfortunately. I'm not sure if it's worth visiting again. read more

Bottom line: fresh produce, a wide selection (esp Latin ingredients and products), and great hot foods bar, though some similar items here can be a smidge pricier than at their competitors First time shopper at a Streets Market. I usually do my shopping at Wegmans (I'm a fancy cat, meow!), but know my way around the other local supermarkets (Whole Foods, Harris Teeter, TJ, H-mart, etc.). Selection: Overall a positive! I was pleasantly surprised by the wide selection of items, particularly those used in Latin cuisine, though they had many other surprises not available at other stores as well! I found the produce to be fresh. They had a good and fresh selection of whole fish. I definitely left with many things I didn't intend on finding/buying. The only negative I found is that they had no Italian sausage (neither packaged or fresh, mild or hot), which was odd because they carried Halal meats, chicken sausages, Beyond/vegan sausages, cured sausages, run-of-the-mill franks, and fresh chorizo from at least four (4!!) different countries. Still this was but a minor inconvenience. Hot foods selection: I heard great things and was not disappointed! Their bulgogi and teriyaki chicken cup-bap are delicious and well-priced, and the rice and vegetables at the bottom soaked up all the yummy juices! Customer service: No complaints! Everyone was friendly! Not all employees were easily identifiable though as they don't seem to have a dress code. Price: The only potential downside for me. The prices here are mostly on par with Whole Foods and pre-discount Harris Teeter, but in some cases, maybe a smidge pricier. They are noticeably more expensive than Wegmans: some pantry/common-brand items (pasta, cereals, etc.) can cost up to a buck more, which can add up. Other: They don't show unit costs for things such as olive oils, making it difficult to compare products. And as part of their grand opening, you get a ticket for every $100 you spend on a raffle for a new Toyota. Too bad I'm a cat though and cannot legally drive. Meow! read more

It's okay. I walked in from the gym and it seemed like no one was really there. I couldn't tell customers from employees. It has a great variety and a lot of specialties but things are definitely marked so I wouldn't shop there on the regular. Idk, it wasn't an enjoyable experience or inviting. I still spent 50 bucks and got a good amount of items but I would only shop there if I needed a special ingredient. read more
