    Lidl in Reisterstown is open

I've now been to Lidl several times since they opened. The layout of the store allows for small crowds of people to comfortably move through the aisles without disturbing anyone else's shopping experience. Upon entering you're immediately greeted with the aroma of baked goods that makes it incredibly difficult to pass up the pastries, fresh pretzels , or wide selection of crusty breads. Something is always on sale in that darn bakery ‍ Anyhoo, I'm also loving the produce section. Unlike some stores discount grocery stores where the produce section has the basics, Lidl has shallots, medjool dates, and several varieties of greens . There is always something in their weekly circular that is on sale enticing you to buy more. Let's talk about checkout? Even when the store has been crowded they have enough lines open to quickly get you out. I love this because my time is valuable.

I was here 8/31 for opening day and was quite a popular event. I ended up leaving and returning a total of 3 times. 1- the line for grand opening snaked around the outside of the store and down the Main Street. I circled around and enjoyed the DJ a bit and headed out. 2- Line gone but store PACKED. I scored a free tote. Missed out on the opening day gift card. Scored multiple random grocery items including yogurt, cheese pizza bread pastry and olive and tomato tart, spices and garlic- store large and filled with seniors milling around in various states of awe and confusion(let me stop- I'm up in the not so distant future ;( ). Beautiful flower stand at door and then the small of the bakery hit and all bets were off. I noted that this location is quite large and super well stocked -could be due to expected opening day mania. Imagine the smell of baking hitting you at the door. Could explain the awe and confusion lol. Proceeding towards the back and it is tighter quarters when you get into the general aisles. Very nice and I decided to leave and come back later to take a deeper look. Plus I was hangry. 3- I'm back - so when I left I decided to taste the cheese pizza focaccia bread thingy in the car and had to pull over. It was still warm. All I needed was a glass of white wine and a seaside bistro table on the shore. It was gooood. I had to snag 2 more . What I like about Lidl is that yes it's just a grocery store but price point is awesome and their offerings are not basic. It has a Euro centric style of grocery geared in a way that is palatable to The generic US palate. Always interesting finds.

I love the freshness of the food and vegan options. You can also bring your own bags.

Though my grandmother used to love and shop at the long closed dundalk location, so I grew up with Santoni's. Oddly enough, if I look out my apartment window, I can see the building where the dundalk store once resided. We needed a pie, because it was pi day. In the past, Jeremy and I have visited much larger, chain grocery stores on pi day, we've come up empty-handed. Santoni's did not disappoint. We got a gorgeous lemon meringue pie, and it was discounted several dollars, which made it all the sweeter. The store is small, but clean with an air about it that suggests that the owners are proud of it. They should be.

If you are waiting, browse the aisles for excellent made-on-premises baked goods and a variety of pantry staples different and more upscale than found in conventional grocery stores. There is no place to sit down and eat; maybe Santoni's missing a bet through this decision? Yes, Santoni's will separate you from your money (an Oatmeal canister is double the cost found in a full-sized grocery), but you will be happy with anything they make here from scratch, and your stomach will be too. In the past they also have done a top-notch job with catering orders. If you are ordering an office lunch, look no further!

We were here to pick up last minute goods for a graduation party. But let's talk about the little sandwiches and rolls they made in the catering department. Those things were delicious! They put them together to perfection, they were ready on time, and they were delicious! We had steak, chicken, and tuna salad little sandwiches on croissants. I'm definitely going to order from Wegmans again, especially those items. They were perfect! But back to the store itself. They will pretty much have everything you need. They have some of my favorite items like frozen jasmine rice in individual packets. You can get them in white or brown. They're both delicious. I also love the frozen vegetables. They have the best selection of frozen vegetables. Especially frozen spinach. Most grocery stores only give you the champ. Spinach, Wegmans will give you the whole leaf frozen spinach. I love that. And their quinoa cakes are divine. They're frozen vegetables and foods. Selection is top notch!

Since I do almost all of the grocery shopping for my household, I knew where prices were really fantastic versus not so much. They don't have everything like with a big grocery store but what they do have is fantastic. You can also buy clothing here and other things that your mainstream stores don't have. I came here not long before they close so I didn't have a lot of time to look around but I plan to come back soon and I highly recommend coming here and seeing if you like it as much as I did.

They did not end up having the burgers so I just perused the store seeing if I would come across anything else that I would buy and I did not. I know the word "bargain" is in the name but it definitely gave off bargain basement like this store receives the items that don't do well in other big box stores. I did not purchase anything as I was not super impressed, the star ratings are for its neat & clean appearance, seems organized fairly well, they did have some rare brands that might be hard to find in the regular grocery stores. Don't think it was the bestest decision to sit it that close to Target but hopefully they will develop their own fan base of loyal customers. It was just okay and depending on how desperate my situation I may try them again out of necessity.
