Celebrated my husband's early birthday here on a Friday night. Short North was busy but we got…read morethere early to make a candle before our class so we had plenty of time to get settled. The team did a great job helping us celebrate by making a subtle birthday sign. They were also all very kind and helpful throughout the entire night. The candle making was easy and straight forward, and it was able to set while we did our class. Before class started they took our drink orders and they came quickly. We got a lemon drop and a paint water martini. Both were very tasty! Only a few people were on time, but they did give a few minutes grace period to let people find parking. By the time we got started the vibes were fun. Yahfa was our artist and she had an awesome Y2K playlist going. She explained all the steps clearly and gave us ample time to paint. We did a black light picture so most of the class was in the dark with the paint glowing. As someone who is not an artist this was so much fun! The whole process took about 2 hours, and it was easy to follow along from both her instructions and seeing her work projected on the tv. The team also made sure to regularly check in to see if we needed anything or wanted any drinks. At the end of our time, our paintings were mostly dry and our candle was set. We were also able to choose a painting from a number of options as a birthday gift for my husband. It was very sweet and a nice cherry on top of our night! We are so happy with how it went that we are already planning to go back and bring some friends along too! If you get the chance, this is definitely a fun activity for a date, friends, or even families!

We were warned to bring chairs, which we did, since the seating is on the ground in an ampitheatre setting. Note that for the future. The sound system is pretty good, but at times things did short out, but overall I came away very impressed. Westerville Park's does it right, the actors were very committed, and it was a wonderful experience of summer community Theatre. Well done....you will be impressed too. The merch line blocked a lot of the lobby as well and it was less organized. For the second event I attended, the merch line was against the wall and went into the theater room. It was so much quicker and efficient. The staff is always so nice when taking you to your seat, etc. I don't think there's ever a bad seat here!

My partner grabbed us tickets to see Tom Popa and when he told me it was the Riffe Center, I had to look it up. Parking was easy and used the Riffe Center Parking Garage at 78 South Front Street. It's a smaller garage so we lucked out but my back up was going to be the Ohio Statehouse Underground Parking Garage. Check in was easy and plenty of staff and ushers on hand. Seats were comfortable and nice legged room. I was completely impressed. Located downtown Columbus, the (Jo Ann) Davidson Theatre is part of The Riffe Center Theatre Complex. It is on the third floor of the Vern Riffe Center for Government and the Arts (named after Vernal G. Riffe, Jr.) at 77 S. High Street.

There is a lot of amazing art all throughout the hallways, and then there is a nice large art gallery space to explore as well. The hallway art is interspersed with historical displays and exhibits, including a space dedicated to jazz musicians (including clips of their music) and another that looks back at slavery. There are two auditorium spaces, which for the open house, were open all throughout the event with a variety of speakers and performances - the schedule was available as you walked in, which was nice.
