Anyone that had a problem with street scenes tint was simply there fault.the guy that owns it is awesome and did highly professional work.i got an amp installed on my 2014 Dodge Avenger and am very happy with the final product.about 2 days after the install my subwoofer(it was a very cheap one)had broke and when I called to ask what it could be he offered me to bring it to the shop and he'll take a look for free.the customer service that this establishment has is beyond amazing.if you need work done on your car this is the place to go. read more

Maybe the most down-to-earth business I've been to in a while. They are very up front with you, give you the price over the phone (which other places wanted me to come in so they can "look at my car" - Like I was freakin lying to them about what kind of car I have) and they know what they are doing. They knew I was under a tight timeline, so they pre-wired everything for my remote starter and got it done in a little over an hour and a half (usually a 2.5 - 3 hour instillation). They have the best prices in the Twin Cities (trust me, I checked just about everywhere) and they will give you the best advice on where to go (even if it's not their place). They specialize in: Remote Starters, Car Audio, Rims, Window Tint and accessories for just about any part of your "whip". Had to get my windows tinted on my 2011 BMW 328xi. Tint was great, affordable, high-quality, and comes with a lifetime warranty. Unfortunately, the previous owner of my vehicle had a dog. This resulted in hair being trapped under a few windows of the car. I raised this concern with John and scheduled an appointment to have it looked at. After a thorough inspection, it was determined that the entire tint job would have to be uninstalled and reapplied. We discussed our options and the situation was handled professionally and courteously. Thankfully the tint looks even better now and I will be going there for future modifications on my vehicle. Even though my tint required a second installation, Street Scenes always completed the work on schedule. Care and accuracy is obvious even when put under the pressure of time. Thankfully their technicians appear to be prepared to do whatever it takes to meet their deadlines. This is reflected in their relentless attention to detail and the overall quality of work output. Customer service was always polite, respectful and personable, without being obsequious. Due to the overall time of install for the tint, I was present for multiple customer interactions between John and his clients. That being said, he always represented Street Scenes with a professional disposition, even when dealing with a difficult person or situation. Having never been to Street Scenes before, I can comfortably say that they stand behind their products. This is a quality that I can respect and I would not be worried about recommending them to someone interested in vehicle modification. Called in to set appointment for install of subwoofer box in trunk of C5 Corvette. The night before, we dropped off old box of speakers and said we would bring back the convertible the next morning for install. Showed up at appointment time, and was ungraciously greeted by whomever who informed us that they were unaware that it was a Corvette? I guess I'm confused- would your work differ if it were a Vette or a Pinto? Regardless, I made the appointment last week and everything seemed in order. All of a sudden, everything changed and the defense mechanisms kicked in- I was informed that, "you people are who write bad reviews". I'm unsure as to what that's referring to- my race, socioeconomic background (however I am not broke), or you're just used to problems. Just remember- the majority of "problems" in life are self inflicted, because ultimately you control your own destiny. And, dealing with situations is the cost of doing business. Treat others how you would like to be treated. I'm not looking for anything for free. I was actually ready to put up my cash money, but you were so opposed to that I was forced to go elsewhere. My mom spent over $600 at this place to put in a new stereo 7 months ago. The installation was unsuccessful as nothing but the radio functions work. No defrost- air conditioner- heat- hazards- but she could listen to music though. 7 months- of trying to get this situated- all of which should have been handled in the initial service- my mom finally took the vehicle to the dealer as she still does not have rear defrost or air conditioner. We were told by the dealer today that 2 circuits were broken by the installation of the after market kit by street scenes and that the part is not available right now as they don't make it anymore. We spoke with John- the new owner and he washes his hands of this. Don't get gouged by this place- they break your shit and walk away. If I could give negative stars I would. read more

Was promised a stereo install dropped off car then I was informed I need a different cable. They told me they would order and let me know when came in. After. Week no call so I called back they told me they were expected a delivery soon and would or let me know. A week and half goes by still no call. I had to get my front passenger window re-tinted after someone decided they wanted my iPod more than I did. But they did a great job and it was quick. It was also reasonably priced and the guys that work there were great to talk to while I waited. I would definitely recommend them for car window tinting. read more

I feel awful referring my boyfriend to this company. He originally went to Mach 1, but I told him shop around and came across this company. We dropped the vehicle off and they did not even bother with it for 5 days. Sharing a vehicle was a hassle, so we rented a car with the promise it will be done in a few days. A few days turned into another week. My boyfriend went up there and Michael (?) offered the use of a car as they were experiencing difficulty; car had a cracked windshield, inside trashy with broken features, etc. I told John about the hazard of cracked windshield and said they were aware and would have it replaced through their insurance company. Somehow they triggered the anti theft feature and couldn't get the truck started. Michael was very courteous and professional; however, John was disrespectful and rude with zero customer service skills. They had a locksmith come after 3 days of no resolution. They ended up having to tow the vehicle to the dealership, whereby, the dealership stated the wiring was cut during the installation process. At week 3 the work was still not completed. In the interim, a tire popped on the freeway and my boyfriend had to drive with a spare tire. Then. my boyfriend was rear-ended on the freeway with only a scuff on the bumper and they attempted to commit insurance fraud by telling his insurance company that the dent in the car, broken windshield and tire were part of the accident. After a month of them having the vehicle, we finally got it back only to have it not work... We have a 3-hour appointment with Mach 1 to replace the wiring. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for. After all the hassles, disrespect, poor customer service, cost of renting a vehicle and cost of having someone redo the wiring, we should have just went to Mach 1. I will give credit for the custom-build, but very dissatisfied with their abilities, how they treat customers, and hassle. They should stick to window tinting and custom builds, as installations are beyond their capabilities. read more

This place doesn't deserve even a 1/2 star. This was truly a case of buyer beware. I went in to have an alarm put in to prevent tire theft. I went in before hand and explained the situation to John. I was sold an alarm that was suppose to do that. I paid them $380 in advance. After the alarm was put I took the car home and my husband rocked the car back and forth with the alarm set and the alarm didn't go off. He explained if they jack the car up the alarm is not going to sound. I then took the car back to Street Scenes and supposedly they made the system a little more sensitive. I was told by John if they try to jack the car the metal to metal contact would make the alarm sound right away. The next day I took the car to work and jack it up with the alarm armed and the alarm did not sound. My co-worker was video taping this as I was doing this. I went back to Street Scenes show them the video John was not in at the time so I left the car there. 15 minutes later John calls yelling about how he's never had a customer that made him look like a fool. I was the most unsatisfied customer he's ever had. He just went on a rant and I was not going there with him. I returned to Street Scenes with the Brooklyn Park Police to take a report for legal recourse. I took my car to Mobile Installation Services to have them correct the problems. They stated the alarm that was installed in my car didn't have a built in tilt sensor. Their alarm cost $300 parts and labor plus tax. I paid $380 to Street Scenes and they wanted me to pay extra to correct their mistake. read more
