I would recommend to any charity looking for decent budget space. It was a smaller cozy place, good for less than 60 people standing including 20 people or so sitting. The venue was safe and clean space for us to use. It was easy to setup and put things back when it was time. On to the owner of the space -- I felt that Nyssa, went above and beyond to make sure the event was a success! She was helpful with all details, prompt and great to work with. She is a very kind and down to earth person who cared about our efforts in this event. In the future I hope to host another SAAM event. Of course, if need to a venue like this again, being it's not booked up. Nyssa's The Living Art Gallery will be my go and the main place I'd ever recommend to anyone in need of a venue. Thank you Nyssa!!!

I had to email afterward just to learn that my "behavior and demeanor" had supposedly made people uncomfortable. Nobody ever told me specifically what I had done wrong, what boundary I had crossed, or gave me an opportunity to correct anything. I'm a human being, not furniture. If staff had simply communicated with me, I would have listened and complied. For context, I was not harassing people. I was a social regular who enjoyed friendly conversations, and if someone didn't want to interact, I respected that and gave them space. If staff wanted me to change something about my behavior, they could have simply told me. I would have listened and adjusted. I also have concerns about whether my race, sex, and height affected how I was perceived and treated. After months of follow-ups and back and fourth, management finally confirmed that I'm still not permitted on site. Great concept, but the way this was handled showed a serious lack of communication and people skills. One star. Wonderville has now publicly alleged, which they did not tell me in the emails, that I followed people around, made "unwanted advances," and engaged in "predatory behavior." I categorically dispute that allegation. I did not follow people around the venue. Wonderville is a small arcade bar, and naturally you will cross paths with the same people repeatedly. Running into someone again is not the same as following them. If I sometimes approached people socially and someone wasn't receptive, I gave them space, usually immediately. Their response says they received reports from multiple people, but no one ever confronted me about these allegations before banning me. They also claim I "have not reflected at all," even though they never disclosed these more serious allegations during the months they told me to reflect. I only learned about them through their public response to this review. I have the original emails showing they only told me my "behavior and demeanor" made people uncomfortable, so their claim that they had already explained these allegations to me is contradicted by their own emails. Presenting disputed reports as established behavior is serious. Given that these accusations only appeared publicly after I criticized how this was handled, it comes across to me as lashing out. Just a very hostile space. Be careful there.

Rafael, the owner and his assistant Erin were so accommodating and easy to work with. The gallery held just the right amount of people for the event and everyone raved about how perfect the spot was in terms of lighting, setup and over all space. We were able to accommodate an area for a DJ, have room enough to walk around and mingle and set up an area for food. The location is great if you drive, plenty of parking or if you ride the silver bullet, the L train is right across the street. I was so happy with the experience. I will definitely consider this location as a first choice for future events held in Brooklyn!

There are offices in the back, and then two small cute rooms in the front showing the works. People are quite friendly, it's as though you're in someone's living room.

(Though those are on my list) I'm talking about all the things you can experience at "East Williamsburg's" (This place is in Bushwick) latest and greatest art gallery. First lets talk about the space. HUGE! Lots of art galleries I've been to are quite small and compact. Here, there is tons of room to mingle, walk around and maybe even break out into an impromtu dance party. (Yes, it happened) The design is great. It has a great feel and vibe for the art on display here. It's mostly street art with a message. The opening gallery, which was "Hi, my Name Is...", went well with the designs on the wall. The gallery had sponsors supporting it with some drinks and food. When I was there they had a scotch sponsor on hand. They also had some small bites to eat and beers for the taking. Music was great, they had several DJ's on site performing till close. It kept everyone energetic and upbeat. As mentioned it may have sparked a dance party or two. The owners even gave out some free art pieces for the first bunch of patrons that night. I imagine they'll be doing more gimmicks like that in the future. This is sure to become my new go to spot when checking out the art scene and with the lineup they have for upcoming events, I'm going to be back for sure.
