These are some of the exhibitions that were formerly on display: Mantua Nangala & Yukultji Napangati: The artists' abstract works of art represent a description of the the' homeland and indigenous life. The appearance of these portraits kind of reminds me of a persian rug, but it's still pretty neat. Matthew Krishanu: Falling Into Place: The setting of these paintings is in South Asia. There is a variety of banyan trees and religious figures. Jaiik Lee: Still In Flux: The vessels are painted in a variety of porcelain colors. The physical appearance of these jars are identical to hot air balloons and the vessel at Hudson Yards. Soull & Dynasty Ogun: KODE: Yes I Do: As you enter this parlor, immerse yourself in a unique clothing line, furniture, and a table aligned with glittering jewelry. Each exhibit is assigned a QR code. Although these exhibitions were previously taken down, other works of art will be on display in the near future. #salon94 #uppereastside #matthewkrishanu #jaiiklee #soulanddynastyogun

The way in which she followed around my husband and I was absolutely comedic. A spacious and open store with us and one other shopper, and a mere 4 feet of space between the French woman and us. Staring us as we delighted in the first few minutes of discovering items in the store. After about 10 minutes it was still ongoing. She was on our balls the whole time. What a strange and weird woman, I thought. I turned to her, because she was right there anyway, and said "It's not like we're going to steal anything." Mind you, we were dressed nicely, and very respectful of the items, and even purchased something. It was my husband's birthday and I wanted him to have anything he wanted. After I confronted her bizarre behavior, she looked aghast and said she was just there to "help." Please. She was there scrutinizing our every move under the guise of trying to be helpful. She walked away, came back, and told me, "what a weird thing to say." No ma'am. You're the weird one for following us closely with very little space for our entire shopping experience. Like, are you having a bad day or is this just your personality? Anyways, we purchased our item and I smiled and said thank you and she gave me a stink face as I walked away. Funnily enough we were laughing about it later on with another local shop owner and he IMMEDIATELY knew which store and woman we were talking about. His service was exceptional but yeah, this is an ongoing theme at Clic! As soon as I red the other reviews later on I felt SO. VALIDATED. Will be keeping this erratic woman in my thoughts and hopes she is well and finds joy in life and is able to heal from the shackles of racism.

The art usher was very lovely at this location as well and was available if I had any questions (the only one being if I was able to see more art upstairs lol). Stunning pieces throughout - I was able to view some of my favorite artists here - Alec Monopoly and Angelo Accardi. After visiting this location, I found a new love for David Kracov's work. He combines 3D art with comic book themes, and for a portion of his art, Looney Tunes - which who doesn't love that franchise!? I also loved Kunst met een R's works, which specialize in luxury chocolate bar art - beautiful, compact, and extremely elegant! I overheard a buyer come in, and the pieces go for $10-50k!!! I'd love the luxury of walking into a gallery and inquiring about some serious art at high prices - rightfully so, as they're all so beautiful. I'll definitely revisit when I'm in the area when new pieces come into rotation!

Part of the Smithsonian system, they often have new and interesting exhibitions and, as I've said before, it's less crowded and more laid back. This time there was a piece on sound, it was like a sound bath, and it wasn't my vibe. But what I did find super interesting was the exhibit on production and industrial machines and the people who work on them. I had no idea there were 13 foot tall tires or that one regular man gets inside of them (with the inner rim of the tire coming to his chest) to prepare them for distribution. I thought it was some sort of weird art for a minute, before realizing it was a genuine photograph. I loved seeing all the electronics, large hydraulic systems, weaving apparatuses, and factory settings. It really makes you think about all that goes into making our daily lives livable, that we take for granted. It also had me feeling a true sense of appreciation for the people who do these niche jobs, many of which are a dying craft. This is always a great value. I'm not sure why there are some reviews knocking it. Maybe with today's overstimulation and short attention spans, the vibe is just too chill for them. *shrug*

It's not the biggest gallery, say for example, a Pace McGill, but the exhibits here are quality. Staff here was nice and helpful the day we visited. Fine and more than fine is how I would describe the current Toshio Shibata exhibit, Harmony, if I could speak in between gasps. I love to look at photography and to see such talent evidenced in the way Shibata composed his photos was a treat. The colors are sumptuous in these breathtakingly beautiful compositions. each one such an incredible work of art. Nature itself is spectacular, and we have all taken out our cameras and snapped away, but only a few people like Shibata can capture its splendor with the extraordinary skill Shibata does. With Harmony, Shibata explores the balance between man made structures and landscapes. Shibata, with his eye and talent for form and color, has created stunning photographic art that made me sigh and wish I were in those places. He managed to recreate such vividness and clarity in his colors, and at the same time frame his photos to keep the contents mesmerizing. A red bridge, seemingly bold, seems to lose its angular heaviness and becomes as ethereal as the background it blends into. A dam seems to lose its powerful energy, the sheet of water falling over like a wispy strands of silk as your eye gets captured by the stone walkway on the side, the gentle tranquility in the golden grasses and trees. There was a white cherry blossom photograph that was a favorite of mine, the delicate nature of the composition unbroken by the red metal bridge in the background. I would never have envisioned a metal bridge as fragile at all. With Shibata's genius, it becomes as dainty and as graceful as the line of trees themselves. Like nature itself, I could stare at these photos for hours and never get bored. In fact, with Harmony, there's a sense of peace and renewal as you go over the photographs. Toshio Shibata's work is a must for anyone aspiring to do nature photography and anyone who just loves photography that's also great art.
