We came here for the first time for a birthday celebration. They were lucky enough to get the rooftop area, since no one was using the space, which was perfect. We arrived around 6pm, and it was pretty busy. Plenty of parking, since its kind of in an industrial area. We went to the Bar and ordered drinks and food. I stuck with high noon and hubs had beer. Other friends had some of their mixed drinks, and seemed to enjoy the margarita and passionfruit mojito. We put our names down for bowling, which was a long wait, almost 2 hours. But it was fun, and there were a few games to play in the meantime. I orderes the old bay wings and tots. Everything is baked, so I was leary, but the wings weren't bad. went to bowl on a wednesday afternoon for the half price bowling. When we arrived we had to wait about ten minutes for someone to help us at the front counter but once someone finally attended to us we were issued a lane and shoes. our waitress was very friendly and we placed our drink order. One of the drinks that was ordered was a long island iced tea. when the drink arrived it was served in a glass tumbler instead of a highball glass (which is how that drink is served). not only that i was charged 15 dollars for a tiny drink. The bartender was uneducated in the arena of bar mixology as I have ordered that in times past and it is always served in a highball glass. low marks for the bartender!!! the food was great and overall we had a great time. read more

We went to this place for couples date night activity. I was surprised about how many things are inside to do. We were only able to do two out of the many things offered which were eating, drinking and bowling....ok maybe 3. The wings were so good. What a cute concept, tucked away in Eldersburg. This is what my millennial brain needed. I only wish they had adult sized bounce houses. If you're looking for a cute date night vibe with decent bites and drinks, and you're not sure if you want to throw axes, bowl, or play skee-ball, and Dave and busters is overwhelming, this is the place to visit. This is definitely a nice place to come if you have kids that enjoy bowling or video games. Came on a holiday while school was out to bring a group of students in a mentoring program. Their average age was 15 to 17 years old. He came out to stratosphere social for the first time. For the first hour we reserved five bowling lanes. We had lunch there then had a hour of arcade time. It was definitely fun. They have a full service bar and a kitchen with assorted other food items. We only had pizza so we could keep it simple and we could not indulge in the bar area since we were chaperoning children. The pizza was so so. That is the only issue that I had. It was rather garlicky sauce and a little bit doughy. It seemed like they rushed to get them out. It was probably because we had a large group and needed eight pizzas brought out quickly. I had some serious food envy when I saw what some of the other people were ordering from the kitchen so I won't hold the food against them. The kids had fun bowling. They have the traditional scoring method and they have other games That you can play. For the arcade portion they gave each of the kids a game card that activated on the first swipe and it was unlimited gaming for one hour. All of the kids enjoyed themselves and had a great time. This is somewhere you would only visit a few times. The food isn't bad, I don't think the price is worth it on some of the foods, and I find they aren't consistent. Sometimes the toppings are lacking, and other times the nachos get soggy. If you're coming here with your family, stay near little ones as the times I've been there tiny kids have been on the loose with no parent in sight. I attended a childrens birthday party here. It was very empty for a Saturday. The host was horrible. One of the children accidently knocked over a pizza and when the parents requested a new one she said that the kitchen couldn't make any more. Huh??? We were willing to pay for the replacement but she just kept insisting that there weren't anymore with no real explanation. We ordered a small flat bread that took forever and wasn't that great. The host only checked on us once. The party room was so tiny that the parents opted to stand in the hallway. Waited 2.5 hours for axe throwing and every time I walked up and asked for a slot I was told it wasn't open until 9 but witnessed other patrons get offered axe throwing right before me. The bar also accidentally closed my tab and instead of informing me tipped themselves and then opened a new one when I asked for my next drink. Super disorganized and a waste of time and money. The arcade games are also out of order for the most part so buying a game card is not worth much. Overall did not have a good experience spent a lot of time waiting and never got to do the activity I attended for. The chips and dips are delicious and the drinks were good. What a fun place , with a good variety of activities for everyone. You can bowl, play arcade games, watch sports, have birthday parties or just hang out with some good drinks. Service was great. The atmosphere is very lively, can get a bit noisy especially when kids party going on. Highly advise the parents keep a close watch on the runners so they don't get hurt. The bar food were surprisingly tasty, especially the chicken wings, the meat falls off the bone and flavor is on point. Since they have a full bar, so any drinks can be customized. Think of Dave and Busters but a bit matured and with less traffic. Stratosphere Social is a cool family fun space in Carroll County. There is plenty of parking in a private lot just be sure to follow your navigation on your first visit because the facility isn't visible from the main thoroughfare. The staff is welcoming and although a bit young seemed knowledgeable and ready to assist with any needs. There are several private event spaces including a "rooftop" for privacy away from the main floor. There's an arcade, bowling alley, axe throwing lanes, corn hole, bar and general table seating. There is also a simulation of some sort that I didn't investigate too thoroughly. Prices seemed to be fair despite the $15 per hour fee for corn hole. Overall it was a fun family experience that I'll be sure to return to again and again. read more

Decided to spend an afternoon off from work at the bowling alley. I've seen the billboards during my commute but never knew just how close Stratosphere was to my home. A short drive down Liberty Road from Owings Mills and you're there. Because it was the middle of the week and around 2 or 3 pm there were no other customers in the building except my party of 2. The bowling lanes were modern and the seating plenty. If we were there with more people it would have been more than enough room to spread out and still be in our lane. The food options were standard fare, with the exception of the Brussels sprouts which I was pleasantly surprised to see on a bowling alley menu. The drinks were just ok, next time I would skip the mixed beverages and opt for a rail and soda. After bowling we explored the other areas and this place is much larger than you'd expect from the outside looking in. I'm not much of a video gamer but if that's your thing this would be a great place to visit. And way in the back is a turf lined "backyard" space that contained lawn games and various seating. I could easily see this being a great place to host an adult or kid party. My family and I have really enjoyed this entertainment venue especially in 2020 when indoor options are limited. SS provides a variety of activities to fill an afternoon or evening. We all like the modern Brunswick bowling lanes and the arcade. Space Invader Frenzy could keep me occupied all day. Other times we have just stopped for an hour to eat while watching a game. You can sit in the modern design restaurant area and enjoy food and drinks. The space was well thought out into different sections to accommodate the full community. Kids, families and adults can all enjoy this venue. I look forward to hosting some of my sports teams up here for end of the year celebrations. As a local to the community I felt compelled to add this review after seeing some reviews that didn't match my multiple experiences over the past few months. I know some community members were wondering how the new venue would turn out. In my opinion they provide a family friendly environment that appeals to kids and adults a like. This is a really cool place to visit in Eldersburg. I went on Thursday night for Trivia night and had a blast. I completely suck at trivia but had a good time. The trivia questions were actually well rounded. I didn't do as bad as I thought I would. There were a ton of teams there and we all were playing for a cash prize. I would absolutely go again. They have a bowling alley, arcade games, axe throwing, VR, a bar and more. It feels like an adult setting but there were some kids there as well. They do offer a private area that's available for parties or private gatherings. There's also a huge parking lot that offers free parking. I'm only giving this place 4 stars because the food was just ok (not bad but not absolutely delicious) and the alcoholic drinks were tasty but not strong. Our axe throwing instructor was very patient and cool as well (can't remember his name off hand but he has a long ponytail). This was our first time going here so Morgan really helped us get the most out of outime since we didn't know the rules on booking the lanes. She was absolutely the best. Word to the wise it's best to book 3 hours minimum if there are 3-4 of you. Not a lot for very small kids to do if the parents want to have fun too but age 8 and up will have a blast. The tv screens were super huge great for watching sports which is what we did. We definitely plan on returning. Oh they have vegan options on the menu and for you meat eaters the burger was juicy sorry I took a bite before the picture lol it's a little messy because I took a bite and it was juicy and perfectly cooked. The fresh truffle chips were really good too. Our waiter was Mike he was nice as well. Definitely going back. Cons: This place would be 5 stars if they had a better variety of alcohol and beer. They had a very limited choice. They didn't have any of the vodkas, tequila, gin my group of friends prefer, basically not really any top shelf items. They did have a decent choice of wine. The games have a point value so the points don't go far. 120 points were gone in minutes. Over all we really enjoyed this place and plan to go back; just wish there more beverage options. My son attended After-Prom (hosted by his high school) on Friday, May 5th. I dropped off some treats early and the staff were fully aware of the event later in the evening and were happy to put the cupcakes aside for the party. They were very nice. My son said he felt welcomed by staff (and school volunteers). He said the venue was clean, lots to do for everyone attending and nothing was broken. He said he and his friends had a great time. I brought 12 people here to celebrate my sons 18th birthday. 6 of us ate at 2 pm and I reserved a table for 3 pm for the young people to dine after their 2 pm axe throwing. They have it posted that they are very short handed. It was difficult to flag down anyone to get the non-reserved table at 2. Once we got seated it was slow but we were patient and the waitress was nice and food was good. I also purchased over $100 in token cards for games and VR. All told I spent about $350 so far supporting this neighborhood business. At 3:15 once again there was no-one managing the floor and no clean and reserved table for our 3pm reservation and I had 6-18 year olds with nowhere to sit. I picked up 3 dirty glasses to place on the bar so the boys could sit and wait for menus and service. The bartender was incredibly rude and with much disrespect and attitude tells me they can't sit there, you are not going to get service. I explain I have a 3pm reservation and he smirks at me and recites the same phrase. I would expect to hear let me get someone to help you with that. He gestured to the front where once again no one was working and repeats the same phrase and waves me off. I track down the hostess who could care less about how rude the bartender was and tells me we can't be seated even with a reservation and even if she seats us we will not get service for a while. I ask to talk to a manager and the girl walks away and says she is talking to someone right now. When I get tired of waiting I walk in the office where several staff are conversing and share what occurred. No apology, the manager does the same thing I did, clear the table and seat the boys. The boys got tired of waiting and we had them eat elsewhere. Stratosphere lost another $100+ table of diners. I understand everyone is short staffed including my own business but no one is actually managing the restaurant floor or the reservations. We won't be back. read more
