This is how bagels and egg sandwiches are supposed to be done! There are some decent bagel places in NC but they just can't compare to the meaty bagels on LI. I also have to get an egg sandwich when I visit where I grew up because they don't do it on a Kaiser roll anywhere else I've been. Why not? I don't have an answer for that. read more

First I called ahead of time 20 minutes giving them plenty of time still had to wait 25 minutes because they messed up the cheese and bagel. Twice then I received a bagel sprinkled with a little bit of everything. Then on top of that $20 for 1 bagel ham cheeese and 1 bacon egg cheese on a roll. That is insane if the taste was worth it then it would not matter but not even close. Is it strathmore or your bagel cafe also? read more

Strathmore Bagels - Supposedly everything bagel ham and Swiss but was mostly a plain bagel - Bakeries Near Me - Shirley, New York

Used to be one of the best bagels on LI. Now it is exactly what it looks like - frozen old bagels next to a pet store

Under new management! They are now Bagels Your Way Cafe and they have a new manager, new staff, new menu, new interior designs, and everything. Bagels are still good. I noticed the coffee is now on it's own counter on the customer's side. So customers can pour their own coffee and add how ever much sugar and milk they want. They also have less tables and chairs now because of the new coffee counter. I also noticed the glass counters where they keep the bagels behind is now shorter. Which I really appreciate being a short person, now I don't have to stand on my tippy toes to make contact with the staff. The bagels are the same I think, I didn't notice any huge difference from the bagels I use to get from Strathmore Bagels. Some of the old staff still work there, but they have a new manager and I think they're working on a new menu. Everyone has shirts that say "Bagels Your Way Cafe", so I think it's safe to say that's the name of the new establishment. I just got a toasted bagel with cream cheese, and it was a good bagel. read more

Another occasion I asked for lightly buttered bagels and it was heavily buttered. More recently I asked for egg everything bagels and received just egg bagels. Management needs to place better care into their staff training. I also happened to notice there are two signs outside that say "Hot Bagels". I've been here at all times of the day and the bagels are never hot. read more

I love it here weather in person or delivery all their begets always get here quick inside is a small but amazing bagel shop and the bagels are good too 5 stars read more

It's an ok bagel shop not going to wow you but gets the job done . The cook there makes really good breakfast sandwiches just a little chintzy on the bacon and cheese . 3 stars is a good rating for this place . read more

Just moved here from CA. Wanted something quick and easy to start unpacking, also much needed coffee. I DoorDashed this order. It got here really quickly. The scallion cream cheese is thick and clearly homemade. It's so perfect. The hungry man hit the spot. Only could eat half because I wanted to try both! Loaded with red potatoes and all the meats. It's perfect and the price is right! read more

This place (and pretty much all long Island bagel shops) it's so expensive. I paid almost $8 for one toasted bagel with cream cheese and a 8oz Red Bull. So pretty much they charged me $4 for a bagel and another $4 for the Red Bull. And, it's not like the taste is amazing and makes it worth the money spent. But, there's no difference from any other basic bagel shop around. My 2cents. read more

This is my favorite bagel shop when I visit Long Island. The bacon egg and cheese sandwiches on a roll are to die for. Always leave with a dozen or so to take home along with a couple of everything bagels with lox spread and scallion spread. Ask for extra cream cheese if that's your thing. Prices are reasonable and servers are very friendly. I usually call in my order because the breakfast rush can be a little time consuming but the line moves pretty fast. Enjoy of you get out on the island. read more

Used to go here as a kid. Breakfast sandwich was inedible... falling apart and roll was at least a day old. I do not recommend

Ever since I was a kid, strathmore has always been the spot to get bagels before a boat day or just a weekend bagel run! The bagels are always fresh out of the oven and we love them. read more

Bagels here are amazing. Perfect chew to softness ratio. They get very busy, especially on weekends and I think because of that when I get my eggs over medium sometimes they come out VERY underdone. read more

Strathmore Bagels in Shirley is a very solid bagel shop. It's a blue collar joint no café or pretentious atmosphere here. You'll find the shop nestled in the North West section of this Shopping Center. They are cash only and do not have an ATM in the shop either. All the bagels are excellent quality. Standard varieties of bagels- Everything, Plain, Garlic, Onion, Etc. They do carry some low fat items, pastries, and flavored Cream Cheese. The coffee is okay. When you get there on the weekend their probably will be a line. Parking isn't bad but it's not great. Definitely a top choice for quality bagels and worth checking out if you are in the area. read more

The food is really good, the prices are right, but the service needs work. I frequently come, and all the workers always seem to have an attitude. The hours on the door are wrong. It says open till 2, but they turn everything off at 1, so don't go in at 1:20 expecting to get something. I usually place my order by phone, but today starting at 11:30am i tried to call in my order and kept getting a busy signal. I finally decided to go in at 12:45pm after i could not get through on the phone, and I was informed that on Sunday they take the phone off the hook so no one can call in. I'll be sure not to come on Sunday as I have better things to do than wait standing for 30 minutes crammed in a small space. read more

First of all we're New Yorkers ... so with that being said we love our bacon egg and cheeses , who puts 1 piece of bacon on a sandwich ( needless to say I got a hero ) so there was one piece of bacon on each side , the only reason this sandwich was one star is because this time they actually put cheese on it , I gave them multiple chances today was last , stay away unless you want a skimped sandwich read more

I don't like that they charge a surcharge when using a charge card. They don't have a sign or tell customer. That's dishonest.

One of THE best bagel sandwiches i've ever had. So I walk in and see cream cheeses I've never even HEARD of, they have the basics like vegtable, regular, scallion, and then they bust out some walnut and rasin, or olive cream cheese. I dont like anything other than regular cream cheese, but I also like to gawk at things through the glass while i'm waiting for my eggs to fry, but I digress... The people there are just nice, good people. I'm not sure about the other guy's review, but I was more than happy when I came here. Bacon egg and cheese on an egg everything check, thats what was placed in my small brown paper bag that I rushed home with. ALSO, they have every friggin bagel flavor under the sun. Props. I dock a star because they are cash only, which can be annoying, and because sometimes the line sucks on sunday mornings when I roll out of bed at 12 like everyone else and demand a bacon egg and cheese. Other than that, I love it here! read more

Found them on yelp. Needed bagels for a couple meeting. The locals told me it was some of the best bagels they have had. Always good to hear! read more

I go to this place often on weekends. I really don't know why I continue. I like their food. Yes, the staff tends to be rude, but I'm not there to make friends. The problem is they are always out of bagels! It doesn't matter if I go at 8 a.m, 9:30 or even 7:30 in the morning. They cannot keep up with the demand. Went Friday morning because I had the day off and there were no plain, everything, egg, sesame. I may need to rethink coming here. read more

Delicious bacon, egg and cheese on a sesame bagel. Great prices for breakfast. Will definitely be back soon.

Honestly, this is the best bagel place in the world. I've never been to a better bagel spot in my whole life. You just taste the freshness in them. No matter what bagel I get, I have never had a bad bagel from this place. I go here every Saturday morning, but you gotta get there early before they get packed out, but it's sooo worth the wait. It would be a shame for me to finish off this review without mentioning how cheap everything is! You would think a place like this is too good to be true and automatically assume it's expensive, right? Nope! Insanely well priced! The only knock-back is that you have to ask for light cream cheese unless you want the whole tub on your onion bagel lol. Other than that though, this place is what keeps me going :) read more

The best bagels around!! They have the softest, fluffiest and biggest bagels around! Whenever I want a bagel Strathmore is my go to, whenever I introduce my friends I get them hooked. The service is always quick even when they're so busy the line is out the door. read more

Great service and great bagels. Good place to get your "Long Island bagel" fix. The eggs in BEC are fresh off the grill and not microwaved. Seems like it's typically crowded but the number of staff working makes the service quick. read more

While the food is good and the counter staff is pleasant, the wait is ridiculous and the owner(manager) is crabby and just not nice. Never has a smile on her face...ever! Only go there when can't travel up north to Ridge! Bagel Lady has good food , pleasant staff and they are fast! read more

Just bought a house nearby and my girlfriend and I were looking for a solid breakfast / lunch joint nearby. We stopped into Strathmore Bagels thinking... "this looks good! so close too!" We ordered two simple breakfast sandwiches... ham egg and cheese on toasted bagels. The order took literally 15 minutes to make. We got home and there was no cheese. Not surprising because the loser behind the counter kept yessing me to death as I was ordering... I never got to get the order out because he apparently read my mind... apparently he didn't do a good job because he screwed up the order. Me: Did you get that? Him: "Yep..." (walking away) We decided to give it another shot. This time the order was completely wrong... what a surprise. I was cut off from ordering because he knew what I was going to say... right? I swore up and down I wouldn't go back... but I did. The only bagel shop in town. Repeated visits after this revealed the same result. Lazy, incompetant staff, iffy bagels, consistently incorrect orders (where's my cheese, my bagel wasn't toasted, asked for scrambled and got over easy, asked for ham and got nothing) and an overall hassel. The only reason I gave this place a star at all is because the food is edible. HUGE thumbs down. Will never go back. And who closes at 3pm on a weekday?? read more

Happy customer for years until I found an object in the cream cheese on my bagel. Owner was negative and aggressive. She offered no apologize and thought I was out for something. Shameful. read more

This place has very good food, but their service is horrendous. When you go in person, they are very dismissive. If you call to place an order, they either have the phone off the hook or if it rings they dont answer. Conclusion, they dont need any more business. Going somewhere else. read more
