It's a lovely stop along the outdoor Buchanan Street pedestrian mall. With four levels, lots of retail, a few restaurants, and one great chocolatier, Princes Square Shopping Centre is worth a few hours of shopping for the ladies on vacation in Glasgow. The facility is just steps from the St. Enoch subway station on the Inner Line if you need a reference to the metro stops.

Not being much of a shopping centre fan generally, I actually really like Princes Square. Granted,…read moreI don't actually do much shopping here but it is nice for a place to take cover on a rainy day and browse the shops. This is an upmarket shopping centre which has more expensive high street shops like Reiss, Ted Baker, Vivienne Westwood and Cos (which I'm still yet to check out!). The centre is certainly decorated to match the crowd it's looking to attract - glitzy, glam and always clean and tidy. I like the size of the centre as well - it's very dinky but still has lots of shops and is easy to navigate. There's also a host of restaurants, bars and cafés but I'll be honest - I've not visited many of them. I ate at Barca probably 4 years ago and also one of the places on the bottom floor but I think that's changed hands. One down side is that if you are dining at a restaurant on the lower level, parents will tend to let their kids run riot in the centre circle which can be a bit of a mood-killer. Princes Square doesn't have a car park due to its location but it is really close to train and subway. If you do really fancy driving, probably St Enoch or Mitchell Street are the closest car parks.

This is the only shopping centre in Kirkintilloch and to be honest there isn't much in it…read more It has a couple of travel agents, a café, Peacocks and also contains a Tesco that is slightly larger than a Tesco Express but certainly not as big as a usual supermarket. There is often 'carts' selling things like crafts and candles. It's not the cleanest and doesn't have a lot going for it to be perfectly honest. In reality the most used shops face onto the high street anyway and Tesco's also has a separate entrance, so the use of the inside 'shopping centre' is negligble. It is used only by people cutting through from the street to Tesco's up the escalators. Not really worth a vist, or a review

It looks great from…read morethe outside, and the website seems to promise a lot, but I was a little disappointed when I found myself in there. First things first, the Regent Centre does have great parking facilities. There is a car park at ground level, as well as a roof top car park - so there are generally always plenty of places to park. Oh and PS, they're all free! The main attraction really is the Tesco that lives on the first floor of the centre. It's quite a big Tesco, and will fulfill all your general food-related needs. Although you will find a selection of newspapers and magazines - there are no CDs or DVDs in this store. Downstairs is a little more of a disappointment, aside from a Superdrug, a very small Boots and a few card shops, the centre has quite little to offer. There are one or two individual clothes shops, but they didn't excite me very much at all! Overall, the Regent Centre looks nice, and is great for the parking and the Tescos - but perhaps don't expect to get very much else from it!

Pushy, obsessive girlfriends drag sweating, shifty-eyed boyfriends around here and coo in an innocent-but-underlyingly-persuasive manner at gigantic engagement rings. You can find everything in here, from traditional gold and antiques, to modern gems by contemporary designers. The walls and ceiling sparkle with the reflected light of a million facets - most people can only afford to browse. Wandering around here is an enjoyable way to spend half an hour. Deciding what you would buy if you found £10,000 or even £100,000 just lying in the street (Ha!). One end of the arcade emerges on Buchanan Street, the other on Argyll Street, so it is a nice alternative link between the two streets, especially if it is raining.

Upstairs (there is a lift on the Buchanan St side) there are offices & even more exclusive shops. As shopping centres go, you could do worse than the Buchanan Galleries. For one thing, it's not too bad too look at. It blends nicely with the buildings around it and, as is clear to see from the slope on the second (first?) floor it has been carefully designed to intersect with the corner that joins Buchanan Street with Sauchiehall Street. Within the Galleries there's a great range of stores - it's not all just ladies fashion, even if that does make up the majority of what's on offer. There are also gift shops, men's fashion, places selling candles, cosmetics and toiletries, toy shops (Lego!), jewellery, tech, stationary and of course, food and drink. Oh, and there's a John Lewis. It might not be the most exciting, most unique selection on offer in Glasgow, but sometimes all you're shopping for is a basic pair of jeans, a birthday card and a pretzel to keep you going. In which case, this is the place to come.
