Well Sherry tried to constantly placate me and talk me into things I didn't want to do, and my experience ended with her wasting my time and canceling my appointment because I didn't want to sign a legally binding contract for a detox service I didn't even want. Be aware there is no respect for you as a client here. Someone else mentioned jumping through hoops as a new client and it's wild everything she requires. I am a new client as of December 2021. I am so happy I found Sherry during a Google search for natural hairstylist. I dread dealing with my hair and have been this way for years. If I could give Sherry 10 stars, I would! This review is mainly for the bayalage she did! I first went to her back in May for a detox. She not only did my hair but also made recommendations on how to care for it! My hair has been so shiny and healthy since then. In the past when I've gone in to color my hair, they use bleach and the dryer to expedite the process. Sherry uses no heat during her process, which takes longer but is overall healthier for your hair! She also makes sure to use a lower concentration of bleach. Sherry is wonderful. I am 54 years old, and my naturally curly hair was no longer very curly. It was stringy, dry, dull and wouldn't take moisture. I had started flat ironing it regularly the past few years to hide the issues. But, my hair wasn't healthy, and I wanted to have my natural curls again. I wasn't having much luck addressing the issues myself, even with some of the curly methods I'd read about. I made the appointment with Sherry expecting a cut and maybe some product recommendations. Instead, I got a treatment that cleaned up loads of build up, as well as a lot of education on how to care for and style my hair. I had a detox treatment done for my curly hair and let me tell you AHhhmazing! I went in with super dry and fried hair. Sherry did the detox and a deep conditioning treatment and my hair was brought back to life. It is the shiniest it's ever been and so soft and healthy feeling with tons of body and bounce. I don't remember if my hair has ever felt this good. I only put a small amount of volume cream in after rinsing the deep conditioner out and I've never been able to air dry my hair without putting tons of oils and gels in it just to keep it from being extremely frizzy. I've been to several curl inspired and curly hair salons but I've never been educated and taught how to care and style my specific hair pattern. She also educated me on ingredients in hair products and the effects it has on hair over time. I originally reached out to sherry for a cut and color. She told me about the Detox she requires from her clients and I agreed. (I attached a picture of the stuff that came from my hair after the detox) The detox consist of clarifying, then a special treatment to removed years of build up and hair coatings -like silicons. She then deposits nutrients back into the hair combing each product into the hair with a fine comb. My results were impressive. I've always thought I used good quality products, even paying higher for quality and still I learned my favorite product renamed the silicon on the label. At my appointment we discussed my hair process and I was expecting her to just cut off my damaged ends and maybe a deep condition. I got interested in the curly girl movement and made an appointment with Sherry. I spent $215 and ended up with an overly complicated protocol to promote healthy curls that is no more effective than lots of other products listed on the Curly Girl Facebook site. I just tried to return the one product I hadn't opened (clarifying shampoo) and she would not take it back because it was over 30 days and finally agreed to pay me a partial refund "her cost". In my opinion she is way overpriced and seems more about the money than providing a quality service. Beware she had lots of add on charges for her services. My response, to Sherry saying I used 1/4 of a bottle of shampoo: yes the pump popped open and a little came out as I rescrewed the pump down but I never used the shampoo and I washed off the outside of the bottle to clean it.
