Saw this small establishment with a lot of traffic so I stopped in this butcher shop/small grocery and grabbed a pound of ground beef. Amazing flavor, sweet, tender and not greasy at prices actually a bit lower than supermarkets. Then someone urged us to try their marinated pork chops. We hate the stereotype dry fried chops so I approached carefully. Wow! Their marinated pork chops are thick cut and fried up juicy with the tenderness of filet mignon! Thats their concept: high quality and flavor. They also have dozens of frozen meat entrees made by the staff. I now pick up frozen bags of livers, kidneys or other organs for the dogs. They just started carrying fresh frozen tubes of raw meat dog food made in Ft Wayne our two dogs absolutely love. They seem to be specialists in Polish foods, with just about any you could want, again made in house. At the check out they have some local bakery pastries also the highest quality and flavor I've had. We have redirected meat shopping to there exclusively since discovering the place a couple months ago, eating beef again and pork chops ( marinated by them). The grocery part of the store is small compared to a dedicated supermarket but it carries the basic essentials and some large varieties of ethnic or hard to find locally foods which all seem they would enhance meat dinners. If you are anywhere near this (rural) area, stop in this small hole in the wall and treat yourself to flavor you deserve for your money.

My grandson recently left for college and he loves jerky so I thought I'd start making it again. Last week when I went in to Beef Mart and wasn't sure what cut of meat to get but the woman who helped me was very nice and one of the butchers suggested what cut of meat to buy and gladly cut it for me. I was charged $8.99/pound. Today I went in asking for the same thing. The woman at the counter (not the same one as last week) acted like I was a pain. The man who cut the meat was very rude and was obviously put out that I was asking for such a service. (The same thing that I got last week.) Today they charged me $10.99/pound for the exact same product and the same service that I paid $8.99/pound for last week. If you're going to run a business, be friendly and consistent. Consistency was lacking in the attitude of those who helped me and the price that I paid. Is $2.00/pound going to change my life style....no. However, I sure don't need to go spend money at an establishment where I am made to feel like I'm a bother.
