Initially, they were prompt in calling me to say the car was fixed, so I picked it up two days later. However, shortly after, I noticed the car was leaking fluid. I called them immediately, and they asked me to bring it back in. After doing so, I was assured they would address the issue. Unfortunately, the car continued to leak fluid even after their second attempt to fix it. I was forced to return the car to them once more. This time, they kept my car for two months, during which I never received a clear or consistent explanation for the delay. Each time I called or visited, I was given a different reason for why the repair was taking so long. It was incredibly frustrating to be without my car for such an extended period without any satisfactory communication from them. Eventually, they told me they couldn't fix the problem, but their explanations were vague and unconvincing. This lack of clarity and professionalism was disappointing. Due to this experience, I am giving Deleon Mechanic Shop a one-star rating. I will not be taking my car there again and would caution others to consider my experience before choosing this shop.

10 STARS if I could!!…read more I cannot speak highly enough about this business and the HONESTY of ALL the mechanics working there. I have been there for service three times after having been to other garages and being told I needed "xyz etc" done. The first issue was that my car battery wasn't keeping a charge and I kept having to get it jump started. Walmart wouldn't replace it and it was only a few months old at the time. I took it to Grease Monkey for them to help diagnose what was wrong. They did a diagnostic and did not find any drain on the battery from some electrical system. They also did not even charge me for the diagnostic but said if the problem continued to bring the car back. Now that is CUSTOMER-focused service! It rewards them in return. Couple months later the problem returned with dead and sometimes just sluggish battery or car start. I also needed to get a recall at Ford dealer done. Took car to Ford dealer for the PCM recall. Told them about the battery. They ran diagnostic and said bad cell in battery AND "fuel pump" was also the issue. Dealership also said I needed rear brake pads and rotors resurfaced. I got Dealership estimate ($$$$) and said thank you and I only replaced the battery, only 10 months old, and took my car to Grease Monkey in Manvel. I've dealt with both Chris and Alex, managers there, and both are awesome dudes and just downright honest. Neither one of these guys will ever try to upsell you on something you don't need. I told them what the dealership told me I needed to have done and asked what their price would be? Wow! Quite the savings as I expected it would be compared to the dealership. But WAIT! Chris says. "Let ME check it out first to see if you really do need that". I'm like "of course". He comes back and says my car doesn't need that fuel-pump service. He is auto mechanic! Where do you find that kind of HONESTY in today's world. He saved me well over $1100+ ( dealership was even higher!). The rear brakes did need to be done and I had them do that for way less than dealership as well. I also had state inspection and oil change done. All the other employees Ive dealt with there are knowledgeable, polite and helpful as well. The waiting area is clean and uncluttered, there is table if you need to bring a laptop and catch up on work, or play, while you wait. Ladies the bathroom is clean too! I took my truck to Grease Monkey after hearing a whining/hovering noise coming from the driver-side…read morewheel well. The noise changed with RPM, and there were no check engine lights or stored codes. Since I didn't have time to diagnose it myself, I decided to try this shop based on their good Yelp reviews. I went in on Saturday, April 4th. The staff was friendly and greeted me right away. I explained the issue clearly and also mentioned that I had just done an oil change and brought the oil filter with me so they could inspect it for any signs of internal engine damage. Later that day, I received a call saying the noise was coming from the valve train. They asked for approval to remove the driver-side valve cover on Monday for further inspection, and I agreed. On Tuesday, I was told they heard a small noise from cylinder 2 and diagnosed it as a rod bearing issue. I specifically asked about the condition of the oil, and they said it looked fine and that I could continue driving it. When I picked up my truck, I was charged $240 total ($120 for a diagnostic scan and $120 to remove the valve cover). What concerned me was that my oil filter was still untouched in the bag. I went back inside to ask how they checked for metal in the oil without inspecting the filter. They then offered to check it after I brought it up. Once I got home, I decided to do a quick basic check myself. I removed the belts and ran the engine, the noise completely disappeared. That led me to the actual issue: a bad vacuum pump. I replaced it myself, and the noise is now completely gone. Overall, the staff was polite, but the diagnosis I received was incorrect and led me to believe I had a serious internal engine issue when it turned out to be something much simpler. It's frustrating to pay a diagnostic fee that cost more than the actual repair, especially when a basic check could have identified the problem much quicker
