They proceeded to tell us it was a timing belt issue and did not replace the oil leading to the engine no longer working. Causing us to lose our vehicle. Staff was very friendly, got my oil changed quick. They pointed out that I needed the rear brake pads soon maybe later this year but did not force me into buying anything which I found to be very professional. They really inspect the cars everytime you bring them in and only tell you what you really need. Price was reasonable as well considering I would have had to wait well over an hour at the dealership. I brought a Mustang in to get a 100 point inspection done. I was going to buy this car if it checked out. Deandre found a few minor issues but nothing major mechanically. He actually caught a scammer though. The odometer was less than 90,000 miles, but some of the maintenance records showed mileages all the way up to over 150,000. After a little research, we figured out the scammer gave us a fake Carfax report and probably changed out the instrument cluster or reprogrammed it to give a false odometer reading. Without Deandre's help I would have missed that. Don't rely on the seller to supply a Carfax report. Get your own report and bring a used car into Kwik Kar to get the 100 point inspection before buying that used car. read more

I recently got my car inspected here last week and Sam was my service provider! He immediately came out and greeted me! He was so kind and nice! Sam was ready to assist me and he completed my car inspection and processed my payment in less than 20 minutes! I always feel comfortable here with the comfy leather couches, interesting magazines, clean waiting area, and bathrooms. There is even a complimentary coffee bar and bottled water available! This place is what I consider the "hidden gem of vehicle inspections". No matter where I go, this place is by far the cleanest, timely, and most professional automotive establishment I've been to. Most places take up to 1 hour at a minimum to complete a vehicle inspections but not here at Kwik Kar in Manvel, oh no! You will not wait for eternity to get a vehicle inspection done at Kwik Kar in Manvel! The staff are efficient and know how to get customers in and out! I needed an inspection on my car. When I got to Kwik Kar in Manvel, I pulled up to the first open bay door, got out and went in. There was no one in line in front of me. After standing at the counter for maybe 1 minute another customer came in with her daughter. She walk out to the mechanic area to hand a worker a coke. She told him she needed an inspection on her daughters car and gave him the coke. She said there is a lady that was here first. He came in and told me there was a 30 minute wait, had a few cars infront of me. I said ok, was willing to wait my turn. Then as I was moving my car out of the way another worker came up to me to restate the same thing and told me to have my insurance card available. Told him it was by the shifter. I found it strange that he came out to tell me the same thing. Then he proceeded to pull a white SUV into the bay for another worker. He left to do something else. The inspection was finished on the white SUV type vehicle, and I saw the coke lady get in it and leave. I was in my car the whole time. Then I was told to pull my car in. If I new that my money was not a good as a coke. I have 3 vehicles here to get things done. But now that I know my money is not that important to them I will be taking my business elsewhere. It was clear she had no appointment, funny thing is the guy that got the coke did not even do the inspection on her car, it was the manager. When he said $150 for an oil change in a Grand Cherokee you bet I made him pull my car right out of there. Total scam! I don't know if he is the owner or the general manager but he is absolutely horrible and knows nothing about customer service. I took my fleet truck in and when I went to pay the absurd amount, I handed him the corporate fleet credit card. He should have been able just to run it but instead he rudely told me that if he had known it was a fleet truck, he would have refused me because it is difficult and he has to call them. He then was rude saying how I tricked him and he shouldn't have to call and told me to go sit down (RUDELY OF COURSE) and wait. After about 5, maybe 7 minutes, he threw down the phone, told me to call and went out side with my corporate card in his pocket. At this point, he probably made 10 to 15 snide comments about me bringing a corporate truck and not telling him. Also about having to sit on hold and how ridiculous it was and a waste of his time. So naturally, I'm about done with him at this point and right when I'm about to call my management is at the same time he threw phone down and told me to call. So being the guy has no customer service skills, has a lack of social skills and has been rude to the point he has extremely pissed me off, I told him, no problem, I will call since you don't want to do your job and are too lazy. Instead, I call my boss, get approval to expense it, pay for it, tell him how rude he is and that I will never be back and will deflect all business away to where he goes bankrupt. Do not use Kwik Kar in Manvel Texas. My son took his car in for an oil change and the mechanic did not put new oil back in causing damage to my sons engine on his way home. The owner does not want to show camera feed of the negligence on their part. They're saying that the cameras don't work and since the cameras don't work they cant prove any wrong doing. I had my sons car towed to an auto repair shop and they diagnosed the car for me. After going back and forth with the owner, his son charged at me yelling racial slurs calling me the N-word. This is no way to treat customers. I can't believe they wont own up to their mistake. read more

I paid $53 for a full service oil change but they refused to top off the fluids or check a low tire after i refused their $59.95 "oil flush" and air filter replacement. My mother told me that they said she also needed a flush in her brand new vehicle! She refused but they somehow got her for $91 for an oil change!! The owner is a scam artist and they should be shut down. I tried to contact corporate but was told these are franchise locations. I would give no stars if I could. They couldn't change my oil filter because they said the cap was rounded off which I know it wasn't. I told them it wasn't when I brought it in so they gave me $15 for the part and the fact they couldn't take it off even though they claim it was messed up when I arrived. That's bad enough you won't verbally take responsibility for it but you will give me a discount. Then they told me the air filter was 19.99 ok cool I knew that needed to be changed go for it. Well apparently they didn't have that filter in stock and instead of telling me upgraded it to a 24$ filter and charged me. When I questioned it they said we already took an extra $5 off the bill. Well you took it off cause you fucked up my filter cap but refuse to admit it. I don't give a crap about the couple of dollars you charged me for the filter. I care you didn't tell me you were charging me and that you messed up a $30 part and refuse to replace it. Not to mention your guy said sometimes it happens because the cap is plastic and the tool is metal. Would give this place 0 stars if I could! Like previous reviewer stated, they told me that my drain plug was stripped so they couldn't change my oil and told me that I needed to take it back to the last place I got an oil change at. I was fine with taking it back. Then they refused to give me a refund because they had already wasted like 45 minutes of their time trying to get my "stripped" drain plug off so I was due no refund. I paid over $200!!! My mistake for letting them charge me before they even perform any work...lesson learned, never again! So I go back to the original place I had my oil changed and they were able to take my plug right off with no problems. The even took me under the vehicle to show me how easily it would come off with the right tools! They apologized for the kwik kar manvel giving me the run around and not even giving me a refund for work that they didn't do. I will never go back to kwik kar manvel...ever!
