Repairs are accomplished while consulting and advising me so I get the best equipment I can afford. Also I get informed about what to expect in the near and long term so I can do preventive maintenance. In particular I have to mention Derek, a person in the service department of machinery row bicycles in Madison Wi. A great diagnostician, advisor and technician. The best in the business as far as I'm concerned.

They were in good shape shaped and worked well to do the ride around lake Monona the team was nice to help size us for the proper bike and get us ready to go. They have helmets available if you need one. Clean restroom. It's also a fun and large Bicycle shop which we enjoyed visiting.

My husband and I both bought brand new bikes from Sun City last month. We also bought some other supplies and accessories such as a helmet, a bike rack, water bottle, etc. We paid this business over $3000 total. Recently we also bought kickstands for both bikes, The exact same kickstand for both bikes. Everything went fine with mine. But when my husband received his bike it looked like it was broken off at the end. When the owner was questioned, he replied that the end of the stand had been purposely "broken" as a way of shortening it. Ok, but where was the rubber foot that was on both kickstands? The owner stated that he had one he could put on the shortened stand but he'd have to charge us $4. WHAT!!?? it was included in the cost of mine but for some reason it was an extra $4 for the 2nd? When asked in a very polite way if he could provide it without an additional charge, he replied that he "never" "gives" anything away. Never. It's a shame that he is so penny wise but dollar foolish. I have been an avid cyclist for over 40 years and always like to shop at the local, independent stores. But I will never shop at this store again and I highly recommend others don't either. Please read other reviews of this store and you will see that the owner Steve sorely lacks any idea of customer service.

Take the opportunity to grab 'em while you can. When Aspen gets busy, they get VERY busy, and Eric -- I conjecture -- don't quote me -- would need to turn away clients or ask them to go on a waiting list for the following year. Mr. Eric, Ms. Lindsey, and the rest of their brilliant crew have been working on a multi-year project for me putting in hardscape, including grading and, ultimately, changing (soft-scaping) our two acres from lawn to native plants+wildlife flower garden. Eric and crew are experts on native plants. The more I read about "lawns," the more I cringe every time I pass one on the road. Lawns, being non-native plants, they are animal-torturers -- ironically, lawns passively mow down animals. Think of lawns as efficient animal-disposal machines. Do the planet (and your neighborhood) a favor and make your land friendly to critters by insisting on native plants. Native plants and animals evolved together over millions of years, so when one's land doesn't have native plants, wildlife starves, all the way up and down the food-chain. Lawns are gasoline- and water-guzzlers. The lawn industry uses up a humongous amount of petroleum products merely in lawn-mowing. I am a "Gone the Lawn" person now. Lawns are appropriate ONLY under certain circumstances, like one is a croquet fanatic. I never knew that gardening was year-round. April is the month everyone waits for, but planning starts the previous autumn. Eric's physically-demanding season winds down in mid-November, so let him see your plot before the snows hide the land. Autumn is the best time to start brainstorming the design phase for the following April. Eric and crew are not only landscapers but artists.
