Moana and Joe were super helpful. We were having some issues with trying to get a unit online so we decided to drive over to ask in person, since we were already nearby. About 2 min after we got on the road, Moana called us, asking if we were still Interested in the unit we had been attempting to rent online. We said we were in our way over due to tech issues. When we got there Moana and Joe were super accommodating and let us know that the site had been finicky but they were happy to honor the price online and lock it in for us. We got a tour of the units and it the place looks really clean. Our unit is fully indoors, so the door isn't facing the outside and no worries about the dust we get all across Santa Maria blowing in, or any exposure to the elements. They really helped us out, getting the storage unit was the least stressful part of our move so far. (Writing almost a month later). And we've been coming in and out at least 2-3 times a week and so far everything has stayed nice and clean as the day we brought it in. read more

Terrible Experience - Harassment and Property Risk at StorQuest Santa Maria If I could give negative stars, I would. My experience with StorQuest Storage in Santa Maria, CA has been nothing short of a nightmare. During an incredibly difficult time of unemployment and financial hardship, I was doing my best to keep up with my bills through low-paying gig work. Despite my efforts, StorQuest bombarded me with excessive calls, texts, and emails demanding I call them back--even though I had already spoken with their weekend staff early on. That initial conversation was clear: I was told I had until May 25th to pay the past due amount or my belongings would be auctioned off the next day, on the 26th. They also informed me of a $50 fee being added on May 18th. I made sure to confirm this information before ending the call. However, the harassment didn't stop. I continued to receive rude voicemails and calls for no valid reason--despite clearly being within the time frame they themselves had given me. The worst of it came on May 15th, when I received a shocking voicemail (screenshot attached) saying they were going to drill off my lock and prepare my unit for auction--a full 10 days before the deadline I was given. When I immediately called to understand why this was happening, the woman at the facility hung up on me mid-question. I was calm, polite, and only wanted an explanation. When I called back, the man answered and, in a bizarre and aggressive tone, told me, "I am going now to drill off your lock," and then hung up on me too. I contacted StorQuest's corporate line and was met with an apology and an assurance that, if my lock was removed, a new lock would be placed to secure my unit. This was a lie. When I finally managed--with the help of my mother--to pay and move out, we discovered that no lock had been placed on the unit at all, leaving my belongings completely exposed and vulnerable to theft. And yes, some of my property was missing and damaged during the rushed and unnecessary chaos caused by their actions. I've never experienced such unprofessional, aggressive, and frankly unstable behavior from a business. Not only did they fail to follow their own policies, but they also put my personal belongings at risk, drilled and destroyed my personal lock, and treated me with blatant disrespect during a very sensitive time. Do NOT store your property here. This place does not operate with integrity, professionalism, or basic human decency. I strongly believe legal action may be appropriate, and at the very least, they owe me for the destroyed lock and missing property. Avoid StorQuest Santa Maria at all costs. read more

Don't fall for the really nice people at check in!!! After they have your business there lady is rude very unprofessional, they are never there to help, rent increased within a couple months. She's really nice and asks you to give a good review.... Wait till you've been there a couple months then give your review if you decide to do business with them. Never again! I'm down the road much happier. At a much better price and it isn't going up like she said when you try to leave.. read more

I can't say anything good about the people that run this place, they'll be all nice in the beginning then after you sign and are in that lady is so rude she has no business there. They don't honor the sign on the building for move in prices, the rent will be raised the next month.. I moved out as quick as possible. read more

I and my husband are currently moving, we are out of state, so i rented and paid for the unit at StorQuest - Mission Hills online to get everything prepared for my moving company, so they can come and just unload my items there. Ive signed a lease agreement online, filled out DL info and so on. First thing that i noticed - they haven't sent us a gate code. I called to the CS line and nice lady checked my account, verified it and gave me the gate access code. I informed her that I am out of state, moving, my driver will be there. I called the driver that everything is prepared for him, he came to the location - there is a LOCK on the unit ive rented. He informed me about this, I called CS line again and they told me that i need to be present personally to make a "check in". It is my third move and I worked this way with other storages earlier - rented online and moving crew just unloaded things in my unit without any problem. So back to StorQuest - I explained again that I CANT BE PRESENT PERSONALLY. Lady in CS told me that she's going to call facility manager. Ok. After holding for sometime, she informed me that they are at lunch and there's no one in their office now. Ok. Lady was very nice and advised that storage facility manager will reach out to me to resolve this. He never did. Once the manager, Andrew, got back from the lunch, my driver met him and Andrew refused him to give an access to MY unit I PAID FOR. After that Andrew leave with another customer-lady to show her a unit. I called CS line again, they advised me to email them my DL. Storage unit was rented under my husband's name, so I sent them a photo of my husband's DL. My driver was waiting almost 2 hours, after that Andrew got back to the office and told my driver that they are going to CANCEL my rental. After 2 hours of waiting, including the fact that I informed CS that I won't be present at their location. We totally wasted time and I have to pay the moving company for this time. Andrew was extremely rude to the driver. I wish i could put 0 stars. read more

We were getting ready to sign on the dotted line until we asked why we're weren't getting the offer that is advertised outside their store. They had a sign outside the location and inside the store that said $1 First Months Rent with no conditions mentioned on either sign. When asked about the promotion the lady at the front desk (who was sweet and helpful) said the promotion only applied to some units, so we spoke to the manager. We let the manager know the sign didn't specify the promotion was for select units or had any conditions to which she replied "Well I'm telling you it is what it is!" We were ready to sign the lease but the manager was straight rude. I typically don't leave reviews, but this is not how you treat potential customers. Hopefully we just caught her on a bad day, but it speaks volumes how a manger treats people looking to lease at their location. (Front desk lady was nice!) UPDATE: Just saw that our card was still charged. read more

Stopped by on a Sunday afternoon and the Managers were available with great spirits and such a friendly attitude. Showing us what was available and noticing the clean environment we just had to switch all of our storage to this company. Prices are very competitive, buildings are new, friendly staff - what more could you want? I highly recommend this facility! read more

I am an electrical contractor and when we needed to expand beyond our personal garage space I began the search for a locker. We checked out about a dozen different places and when we pulled up to StorQuest I had a feeling we'd be going with them. For starters a HUGE part of our decision was the ability to easily load and unload large material. They had lockers available with 12ft + ceilings at no additional cost. This was a significant benefit from everyone else because most of our material comes in 10ft lengths and the ability to stand that material up really helped maximize our space. Everything else about the faucility was icing on the cake. The staff is AMAZING! I like doing business with people that are honest, friendly and appreciated their customers. Everyone there checks those boxes! Everytime I see them it feels like I've stopped by to see friends. The entire facility is extremely clean and the tenants I've encountered seem to have similar needs as us. I tend to bring my 5 year old with me and I feel very comfortable bringing him them. I would highly recommend StorQuest to anyone in need of a locker! read more

Had storage quest for about a year now, and the people are really nice there. But don't stay after 9pm, you will get lock-in even if you have a code to get out. Waited on the phone 20 minutes before some answered my call and had them open up the gate yo get out. Maybe have a sign that states no entry or exits after 9 pm. What's the point in having a code. Brand new storage facility with lots of cameras. I did an extensive comparison with other facilities and they offered the best rate. Aside the great facility, what sold me was the customer service! The managers were AMAZING!! They were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They also offer a military discount. I highly recommend this facility for all your storage needs! read more

My husband and I were looking for a storage unit for my 79-year-old mother. We stopped at a couple of self-storage facilities to get quotes and view available units. Not really impressed with the pricing or the units. My husband suggested we checkout StorQuest at the end of town. SO GLAD WE DID! We meet Mona and Joe (the owners) and they instantly made us feel like family. Mona gave us a tour of the facility and provided useful information on each of the units. Their PRICING AND CLEANLINESS was BETTER than any of the other businesses we saw that day. The next day we got a phone call from Mona thanking us for stopping by and to contact her if we had any questions. WOW!! I work in customer service and train our employees to create a lasting impression with our guests. Mona did exactly that! We immediately decided StorQuest was the one. Joe, Mona, and their staff have EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE and genuinely care about their clients. If you're looking for self-storage, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND StorQuest! read more

Very possibly: the best customer service, the cleanest facility, and the most outstanding attention to detail that one could ever hope for in a storage unit. The Team-Ms. Mona, Joe, and Gabe are a Rockstar Team that can field any challenge or concern, and they won't stop till they come up with a solution that works for you. I have gotten burned, time wasted, and many horrible experiences with putting my valuables somewhere safe, over the years, as I have to travel for my time in the military. The security, the storage units, and the warm family awesomeness you get here at the Santa Maria StorQuest has completely restored my faith in excellent organizations that go above and beyond to deliver an outstanding product, and have given me....Peace Of Mind= Priceless!!!! read more

Don't be fooled by their so-called promotional thing (which they never said it was a promotional thing) because they will jack up the price in a few months. I told him I was disabled I'm older I've had five surgeries and I'm ready to have another one and I told them I'm on a very limited income. They said oh we totally understand we'll give you a really nice unit and it's only this much money and they jacked the price up less than five months later. I originally wanted a smaller unit and they said oh will give you this bigger unit for only this price. Little did I know they were going to tell me how much that big one goes for now and that I could rent a smaller one and move it over. Which would mean I would have to buy another key. And are they moving a disabled women's stuff? Yeah that's right. Another nice fact is you can only use their key because it goes into their lock that is built in their door. You have to buy the key. You only leave with half of the lock and key. Sounds like a rip off right? You're right it is. And they take forever to get back to you. I'm not happy at all ! And turning into their facility if you come off the freeway is horrible because you have to either do a U-turn with a huge U-Haul which you can't do or go to the next street over and make a turn. Buyer beware. I'm watching my bank statement after I leave! read more

They are a very caring couple and I felt their business should blossom based on their characteristics. I am glad to find this place.

SEE UPDATE BELOW: I just rented a storage unit with StorQuest, and I couldn't be happier. Gabriel was the most professional, kindest, and most customer-service oriented staff member I've ever spoken to at any storage facility (and I've rented with at least 5 so far). He answered all our questions (even the dumb ones) with what I imagined to be a smile on his face (hard to tell with a mask lol). He escorted us to our two units, in what can only be described as museum-level clean buildings. The units have extremely high ceilings, bright interior lights that turn on automatically, clean floors and walls, and HAVE VIRTUALLY NO DUST. That's my biggest gripe at other storage places. Dust ruined a lot of my stuff in the past. They also have hand rolling carts so you don't have to carry everything to your unit. Anyway, the prices here are very low comparatively, and they have lots of specials going on right now to make moving even less expensive. They are open until 10 all days except 8 on Sunday, which is great for night owls like us. Lastly, I feel confident that the facility as a whole is secure because of the very tall fences around the perimeter...no one can simply jump the fence and sneak in. Security is tight and I love it. If you're considering this storage facility, don't waste any more time. Get in soon while they still have the killer deals on the larger units! Some unit sizes are already sold out! Update: I just got to my storage unit today to grab my toothbrush charging dock, and out of nowhere some woman comes up to me and tells me not to spend too much time here, and that she will be watching. After incredulously asking nearby people who the heck that was, I was informed it was the owner, who has never previously introduced herself. Um, I'm a paying renter who has done absolutely nothing wrong to deserve being told I'm being watched, like some misbehaving child. Also, I'll spend as much time here organizing my stuff and my life after being evicted, within normal business hours, thank you very much. I now feel rather violated and insulted, and plan to move to a different facility as soon as I have money to do so. It's never ok to tell someone you'll be watching them, especially a total stranger who is a paying customer. read more

Fabulous shout out to mojo you'll know when you go. Very kind and got my unit with no problems at all.

Needs more transparency on their prices and advertisement. Increase the rent price from one day to the next. It was advertised for $249 and told that it was that amount. Received a phone call the next day telling me that the price had increase to $320. I was told that the rent would not increase more than 5%. Decided not to move in not taking the chance that they would increase the rent even higher once i was there. Also, they had advertised to give one month free(well for a $1) but once i was there they said nice sure to honor that or just give half off? Nice units brand new and good customer service need to be more transparent about prices. read more
