They claim because it's a digital entry facility your items are more protected. But what are you supposed to do when it's management you need protection from. It trued to pay for my unit they locked me out of the website to make the payment. After they took over I was unable to see who entered and exited my unit or the gate. Just all of a sudden I was unable to see any activity when it came to my unit. I bluffed them when they were auctioning my unit off because I knew they were crook's. The day of the auction I sent a receipt of payment that wasn't real in hope I could give myself more time to stop them from their illegal actions. I was on the phone with them miniturs before the auction was to take place they confirmed they got the receipt and told me my unit wasn't going to be auctioned off. I made them confirm this via Email they still auctioned my unit off as I knew they would. So when I called a few days later I got the response I knew I would get they auctioned off my unit. Then attacked me about the receipt. I then told them if they knew it was fraudulant when hadn't they contacted law enforcement about it. But we both already knew they had long before the auction taken my unit. I was unable to find my unit anywhere on any storage auction site. Knew exactly what happened like the thieves they are they stole my unit took what they wanted and auctioned off the rest. This is how they operate. Do not use this facility your unit will unlawfully be entered by these individuals and they have the power to manipulate their own security system so that you won't even know they entered your unit.

They had several and took the time to show me the interiors so I could visualize and estimate which size I needed. Cleanliness was also important. I have beautiful furniture and worldly possessions that mean everything to me and so I didn't want to put them in a unit that was dusty dirty. I moved into it and it was spotless. They even have dollies and platforms with wheels to roll in multiple items or large items Hours of operation are convenient too. Highly recommend!

My brother found this place and it was right down the street from me! Yay!! Jeff, who runs the place, is probably the most helpful man on the planet. Got me a unit upstairs and one day I was having trouble with the lock and he hobbled right up and like magic he had it opened. And he had just had knee surgery. And he had to up the stairs. He never complained. He is the nicest and most accommodating person I think I've met down here. If anyone needs a storage unit, I would highly recommend this place. Moving forward to this last instance, we were contacted by a rep at the lot about a balance that was due - fine, i get it.. and Let's be real 2020 was rough on EVERYONE! I'm sure lot's of people got behind in one way or another... We offered to come make a payment on the account that day, and the rep told my mother the owner was out of town, and she would get back to us about the amount due. The next correspondence we get is from the owner telling us we've been locked out and the storage unit will be auctioned off.. Excuse me? We still have no idea what balance is due.. What kind of response is this for an owner to give a customer IN ANY type of business? I'll be contacting them myself, paying the balance due, getting our belongings out of there and spreading the word about their horrible customer service! About 2 min after we got on the road, Moana called us, asking if we were still Interested in the unit we had been attempting to rent online. We said we were in our way over due to tech issues. When we got there Moana and Joe were super accommodating and let us know that the site had been finicky but they were happy to honor the price online and lock it in for us. We got a tour of the units and it the place looks really clean. Our unit is fully indoors, so the door isn't facing the outside and no worries about the dust we get all across Santa Maria blowing in, or any exposure to the elements. They really helped us out, getting the storage unit was the least stressful part of our move so far. (Writing almost a month later). And we've been coming in and out at least 2-3 times a week and so far everything has stayed nice and clean as the day we brought it in.

Terrible Experience - Harassment and Property Risk at StorQuest Santa Maria…read more If I could give negative stars, I would. My experience with StorQuest Storage in Santa Maria, CA has been nothing short of a nightmare. During an incredibly difficult time of unemployment and financial hardship, I was doing my best to keep up with my bills through low-paying gig work. Despite my efforts, StorQuest bombarded me with excessive calls, texts, and emails demanding I call them back--even though I had already spoken with their weekend staff early on. That initial conversation was clear: I was told I had until May 25th to pay the past due amount or my belongings would be auctioned off the next day, on the 26th. They also informed me of a $50 fee being added on May 18th. I made sure to confirm this information before ending the call. However, the harassment didn't stop. I continued to receive rude voicemails and calls for no valid reason--despite clearly being within the time frame they themselves had given me. The worst of it came on May 15th, when I received a shocking voicemail (screenshot attached) saying they were going to drill off my lock and prepare my unit for auction--a full 10 days before the deadline I was given. When I immediately called to understand why this was happening, the woman at the facility hung up on me mid-question. I was calm, polite, and only wanted an explanation. When I called back, the man answered and, in a bizarre and aggressive tone, told me, "I am going now to drill off your lock," and then hung up on me too. I contacted StorQuest's corporate line and was met with an apology and an assurance that, if my lock was removed, a new lock would be placed to secure my unit. This was a lie. When I finally managed--with the help of my mother--to pay and move out, we discovered that no lock had been placed on the unit at all, leaving my belongings completely exposed and vulnerable to theft. And yes, some of my property was missing and damaged during the rushed and unnecessary chaos caused by their actions. I've never experienced such unprofessional, aggressive, and frankly unstable behavior from a business. Not only did they fail to follow their own policies, but they also put my personal belongings at risk, drilled and destroyed my personal lock, and treated me with blatant disrespect during a very sensitive time. Do NOT store your property here. This place does not operate with integrity, professionalism, or basic human decency. I strongly believe legal action may be appropriate, and at the very least, they owe me for the destroyed lock and missing property. Avoid StorQuest Santa Maria at all costs.
