This is, by far, the best in town, particularly if you have an RV (though currently they may be sold-out on RV storage spaces). This storage facility has a sewer clean out/dump for your RV - the only storage place in Santa Maria with that! It is an extra that we would certainly miss if we ever moved. Free dump site and washing place for your RV. Never any trash or debris anywhere. Top notch management, Paula is the best! (Lots of exclamation points in this review) If you've tried the rest - get the best - go to American self storage.

About 2 min after we got on the road, Moana called us, asking if we were still Interested in the unit we had been attempting to rent online. We said we were in our way over due to tech issues. When we got there Moana and Joe were super accommodating and let us know that the site had been finicky but they were happy to honor the price online and lock it in for us. We got a tour of the units and it the place looks really clean. Our unit is fully indoors, so the door isn't facing the outside and no worries about the dust we get all across Santa Maria blowing in, or any exposure to the elements. They really helped us out, getting the storage unit was the least stressful part of our move so far. (Writing almost a month later). And we've been coming in and out at least 2-3 times a week and so far everything has stayed nice and clean as the day we brought it in.

My experience with StorQuest Storage in Santa Maria, CA has been nothing short of a nightmare. During an incredibly difficult time of unemployment and financial hardship, I was doing my best to keep up with my bills through low-paying gig work. Despite my efforts, StorQuest bombarded me with excessive calls, texts, and emails demanding I call them back--even though I had already spoken with their weekend staff early on. That initial conversation was clear: I was told I had until May 25th to pay the past due amount or my belongings would be auctioned off the next day, on the 26th. They also informed me of a $50 fee being added on May 18th. I made sure to confirm this information before ending the call. However, the harassment didn't stop. I continued to receive rude voicemails and calls for no valid reason--despite clearly being within the time frame they themselves had given me. The worst of it came on May 15th, when I received a shocking voicemail (screenshot attached) saying they were going to drill off my lock and prepare my unit for auction--a full 10 days before the deadline I was given. When I immediately called to understand why this was happening, the woman at the facility hung up on me mid-question. I was calm, polite, and only wanted an explanation. When I called back, the man answered and, in a bizarre and aggressive tone, told me, "I am going now to drill off your lock," and then hung up on me too. I contacted StorQuest's corporate line and was met with an apology and an assurance that, if my lock was removed, a new lock would be placed to secure my unit. This was a lie. When I finally managed--with the help of my mother--to pay and move out, we discovered that no lock had been placed on the unit at all, leaving my belongings completely exposed and vulnerable to theft. And yes, some of my property was missing and damaged during the rushed and unnecessary chaos caused by their actions. I've never experienced such unprofessional, aggressive, and frankly unstable behavior from a business. Not only did they fail to follow their own policies, but they also put my personal belongings at risk, drilled and destroyed my personal lock, and treated me with blatant disrespect during a very sensitive time. Do NOT store your property here. This place does not operate with integrity, professionalism, or basic human decency. I strongly believe legal action may be appropriate, and at the very least, they owe me for the destroyed lock and missing property. Avoid StorQuest Santa Maria at all costs.

We had to get my moms mobile home on the market, so we were basically moving completely out to have repairs and deep cleaning done and staging.. We needed her home on the market ASAP so we had to be quick. I was pleasantly surprised that they had a moving truck to use for free the day of move in. I don't know how we would have managed without it. The storage move in specials were hard to pass up. Although the price was competitive, they were not the cheapest. However, considering you get what you pay for, that's not always a bad thing. I feel my things are safe and secure and I'm not worried about break ins, bugs, mold, or anything really. Every unit has its own alarm. They are very clean and proactive on bugs. And the manager and staff are incredibly polite and genuinely helpful. I've had a few storages in this area. Granted, it's been awhile. But none have come close to this. And if you've had storages around here you know what I mean. And it's not just because we are in a dust bowl. You can't go wrong here. The managers are pretty cool, we have loads of FedEx parcels that get delivered to their main office and they hold onto it until we get there and since they know who we are they'll pass it to us with no questions. It's never too congested while your there so it's easy come easy go. I like how they secure the place and when you leave you have use the pin pad to get out. We have an agreement that we have access 24 hours 7 days a week so it's really convenient. I like the location because it's right off the freeway.

They only save 2 weeks worth of footage in their CCTV cameras, to top it all off, when my husband notified them that we got robbed, the AM's response (very matter of factly) "Sorry that happened to you, but you know, they teach you how to pick locks on You Tube in 5 minutes". Terrible Experience - Rats, Dust, and Disrespectful Staff…read more This place is a disaster. My storage unit had rats, thick layers of dust, and absolutely no help from management. When I brought up the rat problem, all they said was "if anything is damaged, you can file an insurance claim"--AFTER the fact. No offer to help prevent further damage or even check the unit. Same with the dust--no concern, no solution, just indifference. The assistant manager is incredibly rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional. Every interaction feels like a confrontation, not customer service. I eventually spoke with the local lead manager, hoping to resolve things, and got absolutely nothing--no support, no apology, no effort to make it right. What makes this worse is that white tenants have told me they complained about the same problems and were given months of free rent, lowered payments, and a big apology. But me, a Mexican customer, got nothing but cold shoulders and excuses. It's clear there's favoritism--or worse. I've stayed quiet for a long time, but enough is enough. I'm taking my business elsewhere. If you value your belongings and expect to be treated with respect, look elsewhere.
