Stay Away - Dishonest and Unreliable This storage facility is a complete rip-off. They lied to get me to sign up, then were completely unavailable even during posted business hours on my move-in day. I showed up with a mover and no one was there. I had to scramble to find another storage space last minute. When I called the next day, they told me to return the keys and promised a refund from the manager since I never moved in. After two weeks of following up and being lied to, they finally said the manager didn't approve the refund. So they took my money, weren't open when I needed them, and forced me to pay for another storage unit elsewhere. Avoid this place at all costs. Should be zero stars. Not withstanding the fact that I am renting both a 20x15 storage unit as well as a parking space they have raised my rent OVER 300% in less than a year. Bait and Switch. Pure greed. Guess I shouldn't be surprised in this highly slimy industry. They also required me to find alternative parking with little notice and with no compensation for supposed maintenance on the parking lot. Nothing was done. No notice except for a threatening call from a blocked number that my car was going to be towed the next day if not moved. BEWARE. A frustrating experience with StorQuest and honestly, I wouldn't recommend renting here, even if you're in a bind. The only employee who stood out as helpful was Kimmy; she actually knows her stuff and is kind. Unfortunately, Ben at the front was the complete opposite. He was unhelpful, made several mistakes that cost me time and money, and I found him to be dishonest as well. Plus, the facility doesn't even offer 24-hour access, which is a huge inconvenience. Customer service didn't provide any real solutions either. I've had comparable priced units at the companies with better service. Run for the hills! read more

I am so over it with these storage companies that get you in with these introductory teaser rates and then after 3 months they start going up. I just wish they would be honest. They should tell customers before you move in and say by the way we are going up on your rent in 3 months. As with anything else, I had a budget for this storage unit and the fact that it went up an additional $13 after 3 months is not acceptable to me. StorQuest Jersey City never ceases to amaze me. I went yesterday to pick up some of my summer gear, and to my surprise, I found someone living inside a 5x5 storage unit. Cigarette butts were on the floor, right under the individual's unit. also, the individual became belligerent when I informed him that I needed to move the ladder he uses to claim up to his "residence" so that I could access my storage unit. To make things even more interesting, the individual was smoking marijuana inside of the storage building as I was trying to remove my belongings. I am not paying to deal with someone's uncouth behavior nor to deal with the smells of marijuana use next to my belongings. StorQuest needs to get their act together. They are forcing us, tenants, to pay for insurance while they are complicit with allowing someone to smoke and marijuana inside of their facility. read more

RAT INFESTATION!! I feel like all-caps are needed so people hopefully won't just scroll by this review. I had professionals move all of my belongings into a Storquest unit here in July '19 and went abroad for work. I didn't touch any items, add to the unit or even visit the unit after move-in. Fast forward February '21, the same movers come to collect my things from the unit and find RAT CARCASSES in various states of decomposition heaped all over the moving blankets and tons of droppings on the floor. It was truly disgusting (I picked the least nauseating photos to share here). The rats chewed through the blankets to make a nest, and I won't even know the extent of the damage until all of my belongings reach me on the other side of the country. Praying there aren't dead rats and rat poop all over/inside my furniture. When the movers alerted the Storquest employee on site about the issue, she mentioned that they'd been having "issues" on the floor my unit was located on for a few months. WHY NOT NOTIFY YOUR TENANTS OF A RAT PROBLEM?? Like the other reviewer, I was also told just to contact insurance, and Storquest has not reached out to me to apologize or otherwise make things right. In fact, they still charged me for the entire month despite my moving out on the 6th. Do not use the facility. Storage facilities have one job: keep your belongings safe, and this place can't even keep the rats out. read more

Absolutely overrun with mice and rats as evidenced by the attached pictures of our unit upon taking our belongings. Management has refused to do anything with us here to help offset our loss of $3k - $4k of items (damaged queen bed, light fixture, dresser, etc all completely covered in vermin pee/poop). I cannot stress enough to not use this facility. I have called about 10 times since moving out, spoken with their management who have promised a call back, and absolutely nothing. The 5star is for your HQ employee named KEJO. Last month my cc that the acct was on autopay with was changed and I forgot. Spoke to someome they took my new card info and said I was good to go. I now got a mssg that I'm late and the bill wasn't paid. I called and spoke to TWO people who BOTH hung up on me. When I called a THIRD time and got KEJO( who you should give a raise to and have her TRAIN your reps in customer service!) I got the PROPER customer service attention. she understood what I was complaining about and handled it properly. read more

Competitive price, but if you care about anything you store, it's not worth it. The rats are out of control. I've had a unit for a few years now and boxes I put in more recently are covered in rat poop and urine. I'll be moving everything to a new location but I'll have to open everything to make sure none of the residents are coming with. Very disappointed. read more

I am rating this unit space a one after several times requesting a manager call me about rat poop on the floor of unit and now in the winter clothes I brought home. When you find rat poop it might be left over from an old infestation that has since been eradicated. Fresh rat poop is dark and shiny. Old droppings are grey and dusty. If the droppings you find are dark and shiny then your rat infestation is currently still a problem. I am very upset went into the office and was told to contact the insurance company.... I rented my storage in mid-January. The friendly attendant showed me my unit and I was very happy with it. I even took photos. This morning (April 10) I was called by a manager and told that my things had been moved out of the unit and I needed to come and put them in another unit. He said that I had been given the wrong unit. Storequest broke my lock and moved out my stuff without my consent. Nobody called me beforehand, and the man who called me today refused to admit that it was their mistake. It was only after yelling and screaming that he moved my things from where they had stored them. I hope nobody else goes through this. read more

I did not have a good experience with this place. First, the price I was quoted over the phone was different from the price I was given at the store location. Second, they entered my email address incorrectly, so now some random person has all of my personal information. The customer service center (separate from the physical store) was helpful but the person at the store was not helpful and borderline rude. And she was the one who entered my email address incorrectly. I did end up with the unit I wanted at the original price quoted, hence the 2 stars instead of 1, but the process was very frustrating. They need to re-evaluate their in-store staff. read more

Just another shady rip off storage unit. Only this one you get the Benefit of the homeless junkies next door trying to hustle you for work. When I signed up the girl told me they never raise their prices more than $5-10. After one month they raised it 33% from $101 to $130. The worst part is you can only get there from one side of a highway. Which isn't normally that bad but at rush hour???? Nightmare Before the price increase (after one month of storage) I was thinking "I'm kind of pulling for the little guy here." But now? They're no different than the rest. The storage facility is new and offers variety of options. Access hours are comfortable Mon to Sun from 6am to 9pm. The storage itself is clean and its's a breeze to setup. I've been renting with them since Nov 2018 and like any other storage the introductory price is good for ~6 months. The front staff is helpful but when i initially signed up one executive was a little rude (can't recall her name). The location is easily accessible right off Puloski Skyway on Route 1 & 9. Moreover there is a Uhaul location right in front but across the road so that's another convenient feature. Overall I'm still renting and would recommend the facility. read more

Jersey City needs more of these facilities...on the other side of route 1&9 :) ! The hours are great. They are open from 6am- 9pm daily. The staff is friendly and helpful and he prices are great! No gimmicks! No price hikes and lies and cons! When you're headed to the Pulaski skyway and pass the last No-Name gas station stay in your car right lane and there's a side street to you turn off before driving under the highway sides. Is there a negative star option????? Truly the worst experience of my life. I arrived at 2pm on a Monday to move a small UHaul or furniture into a storage facility and there was essentially a sign on the door saying "be back soon" with a number to call. I call the number and customer service could not care less that there is no one at the facility. I call again and finally someone agrees to contact the manager - Alex. It's been at least 30 minutes at the point when I am told that he is "running errands" and will "be back soon". I wait 20 more minutes and call back... they end up giving me Alex's number and I call him. Similar to the attitude of customer service, he could care less about the incredible inconvenience. I ask where he is because it's now almost 3pm and he says, "I don't think that's relevant" ...more to the conversation but overall might be the rudest person I have ever interacted with in my life. Fast forward 30 more minutes (almost 3:30) and Alex finally arrives. He is even more rude than he was on the phone and completely brushes off the fact that I have been waiting, doesn't apologize, and continues to have a nasty attitude. I ask again why the office was randomly closed for 90+ minutes in the middle of a Monday when their website clearly states that they are open 9-6, and he once again won't provide any explanation. It takes 20 more minutes to set up my account and then I finally move in. I have never interacted with a manager that had a more blatant disregard for basic customer service and more generally just a ruder person than Alex. I call customer service again once I've left because by now I've had to pay to extend my UHaul reservation and pay a change fee for an Amtrak ticket that I had later that night!!!!! I'm told that I should call Rhonda - the district manager - because I may be able to get a discount on 1 month of storage for the inconvenience. I have now called Rhonda multiple times with 0 reply and when I call customer service back to complain there's "nothing they can do". I eventually was so angry that I MOVED OUT and changed storage facilities without a refund which I have tried to get multiple times to no avail. I cannot stress enough that if you would like to be treated with basic respect for your time to NEVER give this disgusting company your business. Everyone I interacted with was generally disinterested in my extremely negative experience, but I am truly most appalled by manager Alex's actions. It's just baffling how such a nasty human has been able to enter the field of management and customer service. I wish I could give negative stars, but if I even deter 1 person from using this terrible service I will be slightly happier!!!! read more

Great Facility. Definitely recommend. Very clean. Learn how to use the lock, took me a while. You have to buy their lock for around $20. The locker is really big than I needed. You can store a great number of items but wouldn't recommend furniture. The people who work at the office were surprisingly nice. I'm trying to review them so you can hopefully check it out. Crazy bad customer service especially from the manager Alex. I have been paying on time every month and recently I got an email that I need to pay for late fee because my credit card declined. I had no idea why the card declined and the storage did not tell me immediately after that happened. They did not email me in time, and I have to pay the late fee because of their late communication. When I tried to call in and explain the situation and get help, Alex treated me in a severely bad attitude, and I not only had to pay for a lot extra, and also felt bad for a long time due to his crazy attitude. I would need a compensation for such bad treatment. read more
