I had Will from Storm Guard come out to check my gutter screens for hail damage. He went on the roof to check. He had pictures of the screens, and showed me the screens. it was only cosmetic damage and would not cause any problems. There was no charge for the inspection. ***BUYER BEWARE*** Review for Storm Guard Roofing & Construction - St. Louis I am writing this review to share my extremely frustrating and disappointing experience with Storm Guard Roofing & Construction in St. Louis. Due to my experience, I cannot recommend Storm Guard for any of your projects. After severe storms on April 18, 2024, which included 60 MPH straight-line winds and hail, we found roofing tiles in our yard. Several neighboring homes were also damaged, requiring significant repairs to porches and replacements of several roofs. My ordeal began when Colton from Storm Guard assessed our roof on April 25, 2024, claiming to identify extensive storm damage. He confidently stated that a complete replacement of the roof, gutters, and downspouts was necessary. All of his claims were captured on audio and video by my security cameras. This was very concerning to us, and we were anxious to have the roof and gutters replaced before the next rains. Colton assured us that Storm Guard would advocate on our behalf with State Farm to get the roof replaced. After the initial assessment, we were scheduled for a second inspection with Storm Guard and Seek Now on May 6th. Again, Colton from Storm Guard reiterated that the damage warranted a total replacement. Despite these assessments, State Farm's statement of loss concluded that the damage did not require a total replacement, which was puzzling since Colton made claims of significant storm damage. Soon afterwards, communication with Storm Guard became increasingly problematic. On May 24th, Colton stated via SMS: "Hey, I just got off the phone with Rob. Sounds like your agent, who is a good friend of one of our other salesmen, actually got ahold of him and is actively working with us to get your roof replaced. We're submitting pictures to him now and seeing what we can do for you." However, that was the last we heard from Colton. Despite numerous follow-ups, communication from Storm Guard was difficult. Adding to our frustration, I CC'ed Storm Guard on an email with State Farm dated June 24th and received a reply from Denise Brauer from Storm Guard which claimed that their records show we had chosen to use a different contractor. This was never the case. We have documented emails, text messages, and an agreement showing Storm Guard's engagement. It was becoming increasingly clear that Storm Guard was not advocating on our behalf at all. It seems they simply determined their engagement based on the potential revenue generated in the insurance companies statement of loss. I contacted Rob from Storm Guard on July 9, 2024, and requested a call. Instead, he replied with a text message stating: "Thanks for reaching out. I appreciate the opportunity, but based on the past few months, I'm sure we are not the contractor that pairs up with you. I hope the next contractor matches up better." As of today, I realized there is no sense in dealing with Rob as he cannot handle a request to talk about this situation by phone. This situation is beyond Storm Guard's capabilities, and they lack the professionalism to discuss this situation directly. It seems to us that Storm Guard lost interest due to their suspiciously exaggerated claims that were not approved by my insurer. Meanwhile, I'm left wondering if the damage is legitimate and is something to be concerned about. Storm Guard will claim that State Farm is the issue, but the primary issue began with what appears to be exaggerated claims by Storm Guard. In summary, our experience with Storm Guard Roofing & Construction has been a complete disappointment. Their initial promises turned out to be empty, their claims of damage were suspicious, and their lack of communication and follow-through has left us questioning their professionalism and reliability. DO NOT USE! Run away from them! Had a roof leak from a bad roof job--and hired them to fix it and put up new gutters. The sales guy, Joe Russo and Josh Adams, told me they were a "week out" and I signed them in late Aug '18 and paid them 1/2 down. Then two weeks went by...then a month...then a few more weeks. Josh, the guy who is their tech rep said, stuff like..."their gutter cutting machine was broke" and they were "down a guy" So they finally (finally) came around mid-October. I went out to talk to 'em and you can imagine my surprise when the roof guy walked off with a full, unopened package of shingles! I remember thinking it was really strange he w/n look me in the eye when I said "hi" to him in the yard. And then, they asked to be paid. I was like what? I could see (photo) that the roof was still sunken where it needed to be repaired. I said that was NOT fixed. They told me it was fixed and demanded to be paid! I was like what? This is not fixed? No way! So the manager of Stormguard came out, with Joe Russo (sales guy) again, and they toured the inside/outside of the house and I again showed them the sagging roof and the manager assured me "it was fixed" and they had "flashed it" and it wouldn't leak and "absolutely would pass inspection", he guaranteed it would pass and they warrantied their work for a year. I finally acquiesed and paid them. See the warranty stuff they handed me in the packet AFTER I paid? When the manager comes out and says it's fine, I sort of bought it--I'm not a roofer. But I put down newspapers in the crawlspace that was leaking and have been checking it regularly (see photo). After the big storm here in March, sure enough, it was wet and sent Joe Russo the photo and said to come and fix. He and Josh Adams came out, took a look again at the sagging roof and said it was my PREVIOUS roofers fault...I told them, I knew that, but I hired YOU to fix it! You saw all this stuff before? Twice! And your big boss saw it too! Why didn't you tell me that then? Why did you take my money and say you'd fixed it? And they LITERALLY turned around and walked away...got in their cars, laughing and drove off! I was left standing there in the yard with my mouth hanging open! What? This is service after the sale? This is honoring their warranty? Guess they decided they didn't have to honor their warranty...Guess that big manager guy lied to me when he said it was warrantied for a year. To me, that speaks very loudly about the entire Stormguard franchise! I ask--you, as a potential buyer of their services, do you feel comfortable with that? So...these guys: Lied about when they could fix stuff (so I didn't hire someone else!) Lied that it was fixed and would pass inspection! Lied when they said their work was warrantied for a year! In my experience, they did the least amount of work possible to get paid. Had another roofer over (gotta stop the damage!!!!!) and he said it looked like all they did was caulk...He showed me photos of the flashing missing. TOTALLY DISGUSTED. Think someone should report them to the Attorney General... Not only am I OUT the money, still have a leaking roof, but I have to pay to get fixed AGAIN! REALLY????? Find someone reputable! June 2019: StormGuard, Pacific, MO removed an old roof and installed a new one for us. There was rarely anyone who spoke English on the job site. Call backs were very slow. Two years ago, we determined we wouldn't recommend them to anyone else. Two years later, we began having some water problems, so we called the company to ask them to send someone over to look at the problem, Instead of agreeing, MRS. Brauer (Owner) stone-walled, was accusatory and very rude, so much so that I threatened a bad review. She stiffened at that, but grudgingly agreed to send someone" in a week or two" . However, we got a phone call from her young and pleasant employee, Tyler, the following Monday morning , asking to come over in 15 minutes. He, graciously agreed to come at one. Tyler took one look at the roof edge and said, " That's not right." He took photos and said that his supervisor, Josh, would get back to us. NOW, HEAR THIS...When Josh called, he said that Tyler had "MISSPOKEN" . What??! Despite pictures?? Then, back to MRS. Brauer, who finally offered to install drip edge for $550, a sum that should have been paid by State Farm. We have opted to use another company. Further communications with M/M Brauer (Owners) have continued to be nasty and rude and have called into question their personal veracity. . No one with authority has come by to examine the roof, despite the claim in their brochure that they offer a 5 year warranty on workmanship. We are in our late 80's and will now pay a reputable company $8oo to correct STORM GUARD'S mistakes. The company 1) Did not impress upon us the need for Drip Edge, although they claim they OFFER it to all clients. #2 They did not tell us that drip edge is code for STL County. #3 They did not tell us, that although State Farm INS. normally pays only replacement costs, they WILL pay for CODE requirements. SOOO, I would rather be giving the company a good review, but this has been our experience. read more

Storm Guard acted VERY fast, professionally, and took care of EVERYTHING!! They replaced my roof and gutters. Joe R., my roofing expert, made sure everything was taken care of and kept me informed. Overall the work performed was great, until I decided to insulate a small back porch and realized they hadn't sealed the fascia above. I contacted the manager to ask him to send someone out to fix it. He never returned my call. I had to seal that section of fascia myself. I just hope they sealed the rest like they were supposed to, I'll find out in the future I suppose. Update: crawling around in my attic space I can see daylight all around the fascia. Honest & reputable company. I called them for an inspection of my roof after a storm. They came out quickly and did a complete inspection with video of my roof so I could see for myself. They showed me that my roof was in good condition with plenty of life and no immediate repairs were needed. I am thankful for an honest opinion and not some company trying to sell me a roof.
