Use Storm Guard at your own risk! Here's what "Michael Kuzy" and Storm Guard did to me. Without a solicitation from me, he stopped by my house to tell me I need a new roof due to hail damage to my roof. I could not see it, but he says It happened all over the city. So he, Michael, schedules with my insurance company an assessment of the roof and the assessor later says my roof is good for another 10 to12 years. (Michael later tells me that the assessor told him that if he knew it was Michael "he would have totaled the roof out and bought it.") So, no new roof and that's fine. What happens next? My insurer after 10 years of annual payments, cancels me for no reason and NO other claims during that run. And now, all insurers are holding that claim against me, although they never paid one penny, and my rate in some cases for insurance is now as much as three times what I was paying. One was 4 times what I was paying. Michael from New Jersey and his family should have warned me UP FRONT that his was a possibility. Then it would be my issue, right? Absolutely no notice and now I see how much of this is a game with roofers. It is the biggest discussion I have with new insurers that roofers are doing this across the Carolinas. I get the penalty and he just drives away off to another house to screw over. Use Storm Guard at your own risk as they are not honorable and are playing the "wind & hail" damage issue that is driving insurers here out of the market place due to unscrupulous business practices. read more
