Storm castle peak sits at 7,165ft and is an easy peak to hike in the Gallatin range. It's just off Gallatin Rd, about 30 min from Bozeman. There's a short dirt road to get to the trailhead with pot holes, but it's not too bad.
I clocked the hike at 5 miles with less than 2K elevation and overall it was fun and easy because the incline is very gradual, the trail is easy to follow and it's not even the least bit technical. It only took 2hrs round trip! I reached the peak for the first time this morning after the first snowfall and it was absolutely magical. The blend of fall and early winter was picturesque with frost covering the autumn leaves. You're surrounded by stunning mountains and lush forest throughout the hike. The top is just breathtaking and I had the peak to myself. This is one of the most beautiful hikes I've done in Montana and I'd highly recommend it! read more
