I tried to reschedule my appointment with her last week after the automated system sent me a message that my current August appt with her was cancelled. When I called to re-schedule I was informed she was no longer with Village Medical. I asked where she had moved to and was given no info. I have sent messages in Patient Portal. No responses. Normally a letter or notification is sent out if a MD is leaving a Practice. I reached out to the Practice Manager and left 2 messages. No response. I spoke to someone in the Call Center today to ask what was going on that none of my messages were being returned. Come to find out the Call Center and Billing & Insurance Center is now located in Central America which is why everyone who answers the phone has a heavy foreign accent that is barely audible unless you are Hispanic. I think this is so unprofessional that there has been no communication to her long standing patients or all of her patients for that matter that she was leaving the practice and what my choices were for having a physician take over my records. It is terrible that Dr Edwards is gone, she was a great female Doctor and I will miss her terribly. I am so disgusted with how Village Medical has handled this that there is no reason for me to stay with them as a patient. Dr Edwards is gone so I will look elsewhere for a new MD. It is also ridiculous that when you call into the office all calls are being routed to a Call Center in Central America instead of someone local here in Houston, Tx taking my calls. To say I am appalled by all this is putting it lightly. Dr Edwards and her Nurse Heather were always so good to me and I felt well taken of by them. I'm unbelievably disappointed.... I started with Village Medical in 1998 and I'm now 69 years old. Changing PCP's will not be easy but Village Family Practice is not comparable to how it use to be. Such a shame....

Every time he needed a new prescription, it became a huge hassle. You need to call 2 to 3 days in advance because doctors won't stop what they are doing to refill your prescriptions. Its only done at the end of the day. God forbid if you forget and call in two days before you need them. I needed a refill on my prescription, so I called in the prescription mid-day on the 9th of January, which was a Friday. I only had enough pills to get me through the 11th, which was a Sunday. Consequently, I called Village Medical to get my meds called in asap. That did not happen! We did not get those pills until Tuesday because we had to call in again on Monday. What a hassle!! I cant enter this complaint until I give at least one star. Consequently, I have given them one star so that you can read my review

I initially…read morecame here for help in getting pregnant, but the lack of communication and incompetence among the staff led to a costly and stressful ordeal. During my first visit, I went through numerous checkups and tests, which in hindsight, I'm not even sure were necessary. They scheduled my next appointment to flush my fallopian tube and prescribed me Clomid pills, which I was supposed to take on specific days leading up to the procedure. However, when I arrived for my scheduled appointment, the staff informed me that I didn't have an appointment on record. This was outrageous, especially since they had prescribed me medication that needed to be taken in preparation for this specific procedure. To make matters worse, they told me the doctor had left for a delivery, so they needed to reschedule. Despite the inconvenience, I tried to be understanding and agreed to the rescheduled appointment. When I returned for the procedure, I had already completed the medication regimen. They charged me almost $600 upfront, but after waiting, the doctor came in and asked why I hadn't shown up on the original date. After explaining the situation, the doctor decided not to proceed with the procedure because it might disrupt a potential pregnancy. She assured me that the payment would be refunded since the procedure wasn't done. I decided to hold the payment for my next visit, but when I called to make the next appointment, I was told I'd have to pay another $60 out of pocket for the same medication. This was their mistake, yet they refused to cover the cost. Later, I received an email stating I would only be refunded around $300, not the full amount I had paid. Apparently, they charged me for an unnecessary ultrasound that wouldn't have happened if the staff had communicated properly with the doctor. This experience has been incredibly disappointing. I've lost money and time due to their errors and lack of communication. And after going through and spending all that money, they suggested I get my husband's semen checked which he did a year ago before I even went to this place and I even told them about it. My husband and I went ahead and did another semen analysis. They told us we have to see a fertility and referred us to the fertility, my fallopian cleaning never took place but they refunded me $300 and change only instead of $600 and after promising me that I'll be refunded completely as the procedure never took place. One more thing to add is, every time I call them, their excuse was short staffed and I'll have to wait for call back, it's very unprofessional for a business to tell a paying customer that, you take that to your manager or HR, not your paying customers. Even when I called for my refund, they took exactly 3 week for my refund. They couldn't do it earlier because their excuse is the person who handles the refunds and writes the cheque, works from home hence the delay, I couldn't believe that they would say all that to their paying customers. The doctor was great, but the incompetence of the staff makes it impossible for me to recommend this place to anyone. Avoid this center if you value your time, money, and peace of mind.

I wound up going to SimonMed Imaging Katy. They initially refused to accept prior years images in spite of me receiving emails telling me to bring prior images to my appointment. According to the office manager there, they only accepted prior imaging if it was a diagnostic test and not a regular mammogram. I was proactive in bringing prior images because there had been concerns after taking the Covid vaccine with readings. Suffice it to say, I got a concerning result so they decided to accept prior imaging. One CD was unfortunately cracked, so I completed a medical release and stayed to ensure it was faxed to the prior facility in another state, and then followed up by calling that facility to ensure it was received. The out of state facility sent the images electronically the same day. Six days later I had no response so I drove back to SimonMed and was told they didn't have the images. I patiently called the out-of-state facility and confirmed that they sent them six days prior and they agreed to resend them. The office manager at Simon med then called their records department and was apparently told it takes them 4 to 6 weeks to upload images received. What!? So first I'm told the images weren't received and then I'm told the images were PROBABLY received but they wouldn't know for 4 to 6 weeks when the records department decides to upload them. Then she added that they did receive a report from 2025. I pointed out you don't get a report without getting images along with it since you didn't have either of them until the request was made for them to be sent. I have lost all faith with Simonmed and Radiology Assist due to this horrible process. Heaven help me if I actually have a serious issue that needs to be addressed because I apparently have to wait 4 to 6 weeks just to find that out.

That said, my experience at Star Imaging was exceptional, especially compared to another large imaging company that took three months to deliver results and even lost my images at one point. Speed I called on a Friday, had my appointment on Monday, and my doctor received the images by Tuesday--remarkably fast. Location Conveniently located off I-10, surrounded by numerous dining options--a plus if you're fasting before the procedure. Front Desk & Intake The office was stocked with refreshments and well-organized, with minimal wait times due to efficient scheduling. The front desk staff, Vincy, was friendly, professional, and had my insurance details sorted before my visit. Unlike other clinics that leave patients to figure out coverage, they proactively verified it in advance. Before I arrived, the technician, Jerin, even called to check for allergies to contrast dye, demonstrating their thoroughness and concern for patient safety. Their pricing was also significantly more affordable than other imaging centers. Prep & Briefing Jerin, the technician and owner, welcomed me warmly, explained the procedure clearly, and reassured me throughout. He arranged for Aaron, a skilled paramedic, to handle my IV--painlessly on the first attempt, unlike past experiences where multiple attempts were needed by other nurses for my family members. Procedure: CT Scan with Contrast This was a procedure I requested from my PCP to run a diagnostics and see if everything looks good on the inside (btw gut health is everything). Preventative care at my request (on-demand) is what I'd like to think of it as and this was my first time so I was a little nervous. The staff made the whole process seamless, effortless and put my concerns to rest with reassurance and covering the process from E2E. The contrast injection was painless, and while it created a warm sensation, it wasn't uncomfortable. The machine guided me through the breathing exercises, and Jerin captured over 200 images in just five minutes--much quicker than expected. Post-Scan Observation Since I was the only patient at the time, I had a relaxed conversation with Jerin and Aaron while waiting to ensure no allergic reaction to the contrast. Post-Procedure & Discharge Jerin explained when my doctor would receive the images and recommended drinking plenty of water (I'd say 5-8 bottles of water is good but that's how much I drink daily anyways) to flush out the iodine. If you have muscle spasms after the procedure it is caused due to iodine and not enough water (my thoughts at least) so do not become worried. At discharge, Vincy and Jerin made sure I was comfortable, offered water, and even suggested nearby restaurants since I had been fasting. I hope to never come back but if I had to then my choice would be Star Imaging. My experience with them was far superior to another imaging center in Sugar Land. Their efficiency, attentiveness, and quality of care set a high standard, and I hope other providers take note. This is the kind of service all healthcare facilities should strive for and I say this as a former healthcare compliance auditor of provider facilities and a current healthcare product director.
