Attached is a screenshot of the confirmation that I received that my move out was scheduled for 4/26/22. Decided on a whim to check on my storage unit to start getting the small things out yesterday 4/21/22 and found out that my code did not work. Heard from management the next morning and was given the horrific news that my storage unit had been trashed out by whomever is employed at this facility because they "thought " I had abandoned my unit after just a few days of my last communication with them before this happened. I had my ENTIRE household belongings in that unit. Things I worked hard to get back after losing everything once already in a fire in 2017. To top it off, I was given a code to their locked dumpster to look for anything thrown away that wasn't of value to whoever decided to steal my stuff in the first place, and had to dumpster dive to retrieve my car title, a spare set of my car keys, a few family pictures, etc. NO ONE part of the management or staff offered to come help me. I was given pathetic apologies and told that they are sorry for the inconvenience this has caused. YOU THREW MY WHOLE LIFE AWAY!!!! I recommend anyone housing their belongings at this horrendous establishment to get your things ASAP before this happens to you too. I owed no money, gave proper notice and these thieves took it upon themselves to do this to me!!!!!

I was told that I needed to make the first 5 payments and after that it could be paid off with no penalty. Ok, great. They said they prefer you set up autopay. I'm on the road a lot and autopay works great for me as well. I get notification from my credit union that they took out their payment. Ok perfect. Less than a week later they took out another one. I paused but chalked it up to an honest mistake. Less than a week later I get a message from the girl in their office saying if I don't make my payment that they're gonna send someone to pick up my container. Flustered, I called them. I explained the situation to the guy that had answered the phone. He said he would have someone call me back but sounded very Skeptical as if he didn't believe me. No worries, I waited for them to call me but instead I get a message from the driver assigned to pick up MY container. I call him back and explain the mistake. He also seemed skeptical but told me either way he'd be back for the container unless his employer told him otherwise. I called a number he gave me to call. A woman answered and said she had to have payment because my account was delinquent or they had to pick up my container. I asked her how many times per month I was required to make the almost $300 payment. She said if I had paid it she would t be calling me for payment. I pulled up exactly what dates they had taken payments from my account. At that time she immediately changed direction, apologized for the mistake and said I was good for 2 months. I asked for an exact payoff but she couldn't tell me. Said she'd call me back with it. Less than a week later we are back in the collection loop. Driver is coming to pick up my container, I'm delinquent and need to pay. I asked again for payoff amount. The lady called me back and said over $6000. I explained that was way more than I'd paid for the entire container. She said with fees and all it would be over 6k. I said I don't think so ma'am. I hung up and made a payment just to be sure. But the calls still persist and the threats of repossession. Made another payment and still the threats keep coming. The owner left me a voicemail and accused me of attempting to steal his container. He said I need to get my stuff out of it and out of the way so they can come pick it up. How many times do I have to pay for it? i Finally told him he was signing up for a rocky road and hard lessons if this was his business model. All of a sudden the threats stopped but the hyperbolic billing keeps coming regardless of how much I pay. I keep waiting for the goons to jump out of the bushes and attempt to assault me but they haven't as of yet. Stay tuned for the ending please. I'll let everyone know how it ends. Thanks. Specifically, I was looking for a storage facility that would accept packages and place them in my unit for me. Disco! (Credit where credit is due: Yelp Intern Chris found this place for us after researching many options.) When we went earlier this week to check it out, Mike, the property manager, could not have been nicer. He mans the front office, lives on the premises and oversees the property at night. The also pay a separate security firm to make nightly patrols of the property. Every morning, they post the security report from the night before on the desk in the office. It's a small but thoughtful touch, especially when you're trying to decide if this is the right place for your things. The front office is spic and span, as are the hallways and units. The hallways and units are cleaned daily, the grounds are maintained weekly, and pests are exterminated monthly. Everything we saw looked perfect, and I felt totally comfortable leaving my things there.

Access was a simple but very secure process. Rockwell Self Storage is in an excellent location, near the Kilpatrick Turnpike. They have several sizes of units. They also have rental spaces for boats and trailers. We highly recommend Rockwell Self Storage!
