I was so happy to find a locally owned storage facility that seems to have all their ducks in a…read morerow. Specifically, I was looking for a storage facility that would accept packages and place them in my unit for me. Disco! (Credit where credit is due: Yelp Intern Chris found this place for us after researching many options.) When we went earlier this week to check it out, Mike, the property manager, could not have been nicer. He mans the front office, lives on the premises and oversees the property at night. The also pay a separate security firm to make nightly patrols of the property. Every morning, they post the security report from the night before on the desk in the office. It's a small but thoughtful touch, especially when you're trying to decide if this is the right place for your things. The front office is spic and span, as are the hallways and units. The hallways and units are cleaned daily, the grounds are maintained weekly, and pests are exterminated monthly. Everything we saw looked perfect, and I felt totally comfortable leaving my things there.

The Storage Center lists their origin as "Established in 2021", which is true to the sale of the facility. Originally this establishment was locally owned and operated as Shepherd Self Storage. I never had any issue with Shepherd Self Storage. Since The Storage Center took over operation of the facility service has declined and the cost of my unit has gone from $70/month to $132/month. My unit has been broken into twice since 2021. The lanes between the buildings are narrow and frequently blocked by other tenants accessing their units. There are lots of other places out there and I wouldn't recommend The Storage Center.

The people that managed the place we're good. The guy even jacked up my truck and put it on blocks…read moreso that it didn't look like my truck had a flat. The only problem I have had is that someone (customer or Manager) was cleaning out a vehicle or storage. They put clothes in the back of my truck. Not so pissed that they did it and it is growing mold in the middle and rust on the bottom but more concerned that the manager did not catch it on the security monitor. This makes me wonder what else could go on while the managers are not looking. Maybe I should be concerned that car parts might go missing or in one recent case a Bel-Air went missing at another location and it was not found out that it was stolen until the guy dropped off the storage rent check. Life is hard enough without worrying about something I'm paying for. Pay rent...anybody can just take your stuff?
