The manager at the time, Marshall, was very friendly and helpful! I told him because times are so hard I had decided to go back to school and because of this I specifically asked him about price increases. He assured me the rent would only increase once every 6 months to a year by about $20-$25. He also told me as a tenant I could use one of their trailers free for 24 hours for either move in or move out. Well less than a year later the rent has more than doubled from $180 to $369 in one jump. I called as soon as I saw the automatic draft and a very rude woman named Elizabeth answered. When I asked for Marshall she was quick to interrupt me, told me he no longer worked there and that she was the new manager. I explained the agreement I was given, that I could not afford such a large increase. She did not act like she cared at all, was very dismissive. I am not naive, I never expected the price to stay the same but I never expected it to jump so high within the first increase. She told me she would talk to her boss and call or text me back but never did. The next month, I called again before rent was due, hoping for an update. The person who answered didn't know my situation at the time to be able to give information and Elizabeth wasn't available. They charged me $369 the same day. I then called another location and their manager confirmed what I had originally been told: increases are supposed to be in the $20-$25 range. He said I could transfer to his location at very close to the original discounted price: $189. He also told me he would talk to them and tell them to call me with an update so maybe I wouldn't have to go through the hassle of moving. They did call me the next day and after "looking into it," the only options I was given were to drop to a smaller unit or pay I think she said $280...still $100 more than what I started at, and far beyond the promised increase. I told her I was not interested and would find storage elsewhere. I then asked about the free trailer for move-out that Marshall had promised, I figured I could at least use it now since I never used it for move in. I was told because there was nothing noted in my file, it would now cost me $60 per day. Renters beware!! This company does not honor its word, does not communicate properly with customers, and clearly does not care about the financial strain they're putting on people. This experience has been nothing but stress and disappointment. I would never recommend this company to anyone and I will never be back. I found a much better deal and wayyy better customer service at Discount Storage and they were very shocked to hear what happened but I guess not too shocked because apparently they've been getting a lot of new customers from them.

I have had at least one storage unit at this location for at least 15 years. New owners took the…read moreplace over in the last year or so. Now the security gate is never closed. There have been multiple break-ins. The place is a wreck. Thieves get inside one and the just go to the next one through the wall. They never notified me that my unit had clearly been broken into. I believe the owners are complicit in the break-ins. One of the first things they did when they took over the property was go up on the price and tell the tenants that they needed to get insurance on their unit. This place is run down and these owners need to be out of business. Anyone else that had a break-in at this Brad's Self Storage feel free to contact me via email at pokermster@suddenlink.net. I am considering filing suit against them for their clear failure of maintaining security gate and cameras. The gate and cameras were operable when Mr. Holloway owned the property. As soon as the ownership changed they quit maintaining the property. I believe they have a responsibility they haven't performed.

Filling a report and doing some digging, we found our stuff listed and sold on marketplace Sep. 18, 2025!! Hows that for business?? My guys loaded the trailer and drove across town to the location Affordable Storage told us to. And LRC would not allow them to dump a trailer. So with a full trailer they had no option but to go to the waste management center. NOT THE CITY DUMP Affordable Storage told us WE COULD NOT GO TO. So Affordable Storage charged an extra $125 for this. It was not the city dump. I find this to be a crooked way of making money! First don't tell someone they can do something and it not be true. Secondly if there had been damage to the trailer I would I understand. But there is no damage. Just crooked business practices. I will give them a 3 star because they were nice, the trailer was nice. But being mislead is not acceptable. Don't take their word is my advice.
