Worst customer services and management, if you can call it that. Leadership roles aren't for everyone. I made an online grocery order. I arrived 15 early. Had to call the order line 6 times just to speak with someone. Person who answered, rude, irritated, and short almost like he was annoyed that i was 15 minutes early.. didn't matter because the order wasn't ready. So I guess they wait until you get there to shop for your order, odd business model, but.... Waited 30 additional minutes with no call back or updates. called and called. Manager Alexander answers and is just as rude, disorganized, and a poor communicator. It was clear he did not care that I had been waiting and in fact told me that I would need to continue to wait 15-20 more minutes. Requested they cancel the order and left... won't be back to this location. read more

Attention Management - if there is any? You might want to: Tell your deli man and porter that smoking in front of the store and in the parking lot is disgraceful. They are in the food business not a gas station. Your deli man had two cigatettes in less than 15 minutes. He went back to the deli and I watched him to see if he was going to wash his hands and just as I figured, he DID NOT and I did not order any cold cuts. You lost about 30 dollars in cold cut purchases. The variety in the self serve was horrible unless you like salami. The week prior I saw the same gentleman, an older african american with glasses walk out and light up and throw an empty Marlboro pack right on driveway. He then walked to the side and puffed away. Your employees must that are smokers must be happy with the new plastic bench near the carriages. We the customers, can now expect to smell cigarette smoke on the carriages, especially the handles we touch to push the carriages. You might also want to take the freezer burnt Brighams Ice Cream and Hood Ice Cream that has been in the freezer with a 1/4 inch of freezer white ice out and dispose of it. Do you really think anyone is going to buy it? We are Brigham Ice Cream Fans and thought someone might have the brains to remove the containers that are covered in ice. What a poorly managed Stop n Shop. Shame on you.. Service Desk closed at 7PM along with the bottle retutns. Consider doing everyone a favor and close the entire store. What a poor excuse for a store. Mis-managed every step of the way and nobody cares. Not one employee smiles and it's just a dismal experience shopping here. You might also want to fix your wifi so customers can get their digital purchases and points to use. There's no signal on any phone. Your outside lighting is horrilbe and unsafe.. Someone could fall out there and nobody would ever see them... I could go on and on with how pathetic this store is but again, nothing will ever change. read more

I was so upset about the service at the stop & shop. On a Saturday morning, I unload my cart and by accident it was the 12 or less line. About $150worth of food. I had been a loyal customer and the cashier asked me to removed everything from the conveyer. Needless to say I apologized but the cashier insisted. No one behind me. Place was empty. As I removed the items I dropped by accident a jar of sauce. All over my feet. At that point I just left and never went back. They lost a good customer. Customer is never wrong. read more

One of my least favorite grocery stores of all time. Unfortunately its location makes it the most convenient for me. Boring selection, a beer selection that is so bad it may as well not exist, very little ethnic or specialty food beyond Old El Paso, and terrible produce. Moreover, there are no cart return stalls, so you have to walk your cart all the back to the store. As such, lots of people leave their carts in the parking lot, which makes for rather difficult parking at times. The location is fantastic and it is a shame to see it wasted on such a boring store. Someone should put in a local specialty grocery store here instead. read more

This is a review for the flower dept: I had walked in one afternoon after having a more than frustrating experience at Big Y... I needed to order flowers for my baby shower that wouldnt break the bank. They knocked it out of the park! The arrangements were simple, fresh and elegant, not to mention totally affordable!!!! 1.) Reason for coming here: Before I use to believe in Stop & Shop, so coming here was a must for groceries. Now I rarely go here because of the limited and expensive prices of food. 2.) Products: Well, I must say that I'm not happy with this place. Cromwell Stop & Shop seemed to have a better stock of things compared to here. I would have assumed with being in a location like this that their Health section would have more products like Almond butter and more than just Ezekiel bread but also cereal, wraps, etc. 3.) Impressions: I like the scan and go idea, but other than that, i'm good with going to the other markets around the area: Shop Rite (for produce), Whole Foods (for my health section boxed/packaged/canned foods) and Hall's Market (for my meats. There's no other way to put it for this place, IT NEEDS A MAJOR UPGRADE in products. read more

I know it's really popular to hate on this supermarket. It's not super glitzy or glamorous and it doesn't have individual spotlights for different food items like other places do like Whole Foods or even other Stop and Shops. That's not why I go there. I go there because I trust the people and I trust the food because it's in a fantastic location which means it's also next-door to a pharmacy, a ton of restaurants,a bank, a dry cleaner and even a fantastic psychiatrist. read more

I'm also surprised by the low rating of this Stop and Shop. While yes, it is smaller than the other S&S in the area, it has everything you need and has an incredibly friendly staff. This comes in very useful when you're looking to buy some of their great meats, prepared food, fish, etc. My biggest gripe is that I don't get cell service in the building (seriously, how am I supposed to check into Yelp?), but that's a minor gripe. I just remember to pre load my grocery list from my phone. This is also a great place if you get dry cleaning done on a regular basis, the Battistons is right across the parking lot. read more

I have been shopping at this store since we moved here from Farmington because it is so convenient. It is very small , but I've always found the things I've wanted and needed and now during the pandemic the employees have been extra kind to me and very helpful and when I order on line for a pick up at the store. At first I had delivery, then I went myself, but now that we have a big spike in cases again I am trying to be safe. I read all the poor reviews and wonder if we are talking about the same place and people. I always have a smile in my voice behind my mask and I am friendly and thank people for their help. read more

Not sure what's going on with this store but it seems as though our reliable neighborhood grocery establishment has recentlytaken a turn for the worst. The shelves seem to be in continual need of stocking and the deli is understaffed. I hope there are plans to upgrade the quality of this facility and/or management. I couldn't believe the generosity of Shannon and Mai at Stop and Shop. I had forgotten my purse and was 87 cents short, so was figuring out what to put back. These two cashiers insisted on covering it, and would not even take the change from my car that I found to cover it. While running errands for work I often stop at this store. It is quite small in comparison to others. Even with relatively few shoppers this store feels crowded, I hate to see it around 5pm when everyone is getting out of work. The parking lot has no carriage returns. Bought presliced deli ham yesterday. When I got home and opened the package the ham was brown. This happens to me all to often with this store. I've had bad chicken and bad meat despite buying premium brands. The deli counter is slow - plan to be ignored if you're waiting there. Cooked chickens range from well done to not quite done - still pink. Produce is second rate so don't waste your money there. Ok for packaged food like cottage cheese, etc. prices compare to higher quality stores so there's no bargain here. Recommend that you pass this store up. It's convenient for me but I'm done now (after I return the bad ham). read more

Super small grocery store for a stop and shop. I guess it's not "super". Seemed to have all of the essentials. Lines weren't long at all. Beer however is warm and shelved in the soda aisle; so that was weird. read more

This Stop and Shop is on Farmington Ave as you head toward the Reservoir from town. A great place for a bite to eat before grocery shopping is Pick and Mix across the street. This is an old style supermarket. We don't use it often as the parking during shopping prime time is a bit of a pain. The produce section is good here.. Nice example of the smaller format S&S. I notice many senior citizens shopping there, this place looks like it has been here many years. read more

This store is a great option for quick stops for basic odds and ends. It is a smaller market, so you aren't going to find 10 varieties of everything under the sun, and that might be a good thing. The inside of the grocery store probably gets 3 stars. The trouble that I really have is the parking lot. It is often pretty crowded and there are NO cart returns. How could this have been forgotten???? I am one of those people who cannot just abandon my cart anywhere, so I am forced to travel back to the entrance to drop it off, which is all well and good for me, since I could probably use the extra exercise. However this might not be an option for the elderly or people with small children. I do not want my car hit by a cart, nor do I like that some spaces are just out of commission due to carts gone rogue! One star deduction for this! read more

Tiny store and tiny parking lot. I tend to only go here when I have to pick up something quick for dinner. It is right by my house but I prefer the one in Elmwood, which is much bigger. However, this one does have one really friendly cashier and while I don't remember his name, I appreciate the smiles and friendly attitudes from their employees! read more

Very small store compared to other Stop and Shops. The selection is limited and during peak times, it is very difficult to get around the store within bumping into other customers. Great location is you're looking to quickly pick something up, but I tend to go to one of the other stores in the area if I'm doing full grocery shopping. read more

Imagine you get to the store 5 minutes before closing. You walk in with 2 workers coming in from their smoking break. You grab 4 items, along the way you ask a meat department guy about some frozen item you're not finding in the freezers aisles. He says ask the manager guy Mike up front. You go up front, the cashier girl is gone, and Mike says, how did you get in here. Thru the front door, you say. You put your 4 dinner items on the register conveyor belt. Oh sorry says Mike, our registers are closed, it's past closing time! You joking? You were supposed to announce the registers were going to close soon over the PA system, you say. How can we solve this, you say. You need this stuff to make dinner. I can't open the registers, Mike shrugs with a smile. How about cash, you say. Just take the cash for these items. It comes to about 11 dollars. Can't without the register, Mike grins, sorry for the inconvenience. You walk away in disbelief. All grocery stores in the area are closed. This Stop and Shop is great for quick trips for basics. This is a smaller Stop and Shop, so naturally the selection isn't as broad as a super Stop&Shop. I use it as the primary store for my basics, and whenever I run out of something--milk, eggs, etc. One thing that bothers me is the fact that there is no cart return-- the carts range free in the parking lot. read more

This supermarket needs some updating. First, parking is always a problem. Why? Because they do not have a place to return carriages in the parking lot and people leave them everywhere. The store is small and is inconsistent in the products they carry. The produce department is getting better. The aisles are very narrow and it is hard to get around the store. Everyone who goes there frequently is familiar with the baking aisle that has a huge pole in the middle if it! So only one carriage can get by at a time. They should consider using that aisle for items that don't get as much traffic. On the plus side, they have self checkout and carry a wide selection of Boars Head cold cuts. read more
