Stop & Shop is one of my favorite places to buy cookies - they're not gourmet or organic or anything but they last a long time and I freeze them to get an even longer shelf life. This store needs to stock more cookies. It also needs to improve upon its cleanliness. There was some weird thing happening in the parking lot this weekend - a woman on her cellphone being questioned by the local authorities. People passed by, one just shook their head. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Get rid of the big guy with the long hair who has his head buried in his phone at all times. His customer service is horrendous, he's miserable. Had a couple words with him tonight and he got in my face like he was ready to do something. Proceeded to do a finger gun at my face and walked away. Place is dirty all the time! Good eproduce and prices. The checkout people are helpful and friendly and people who work in the store, friendly and helpful.

On a summer Saturday at 3pm the store was incredibly well stocked. Everything you need for your beach stay can be found here. The man at the seafood counter was helpful and patient with our questions and we were offered help another time by another worker. read more

I recently purchased deli products in stop and shop In southampton NY.I saw the employee slicing my cheese put his head down and fill his mouth with my cheese then slice it then put a mouth full in his mouth!!! He was eating my cheese !! I was horrified!! I told an employee and he said he would tell the manager.This is disgusting !! I should of told the manager myself !!!! This is a completely revamped store and now is more like the excellent Riverhead store. It took years but they finally rearranged and modernized the entire display and food stock. Now it's a generally pleasant experience and the prices are mostly affordable. My go to store in the area. read more

Who gives a review of a grocery store you ask? Well it takes a few bad experiences and I have to warn you to avoid this place. Aside from being packed, there was one woman employees who we saw threatening people and fellow employees both times we went last week. The staff seemed to tolerate it? This place is filthy-The shopping carts look like they are about 20 years old-I saw an employee using one of those carts to collect garbage in the parking lot-This is what customers use to put their groceries in!-You can tell that the windows are not cleaned properly-The floors also don't look very clean-Really shocking! read more

I agree with Ted K. This is a dingy, sub par supermarket that I wouldn't set foot again unless I had to, and since I don't have to, I'm not going to. The Stop & Shop or King Kullen in nearby Hampton Bays are much better options. read more

The worst of the worst. From the horribly organized parking lot to the old awful produce, to the rude employees, way too tight over stuffed and sub par meat, it baffles me. At night, not one person stocking or keeping the store even remotely clean. Shocking that the health department does not shut them down. Hampton Bays Stop and Shop is well stocked, fresh produce, employees well -must be a company rule to have unhappy,unhelpful employees, except for Dennis in Produce who is so kind and always helpful, aisles have space. read more

I would never normally write such a scathing review of a local place, but damn this place needs new management. I am going to tell you, as a local, I spend more time shopping in this store than most others. I go there for quick milk and deli meat, and sometimes even big grocery trips when I don't have time to go further. However, I will go out of my way to go anywhere but here. Here is why: 1. It is dirty - after buying it from Waldbaulms they were supposed to clean it up, make it look nice, stock better things - they haven't. They threw a coat of paint over it and called it good. You are in southampton folks - might want to look the part. 2. the Produce is a joke. Old , over ripe, wilted and no selection. 3. The deli people - all act like you have ruin their very existence by asking for a deli order. Worst customer service in town 4. The people at self checkout - this one guy bad mouths the customers to other customers - I have witnessed this twice. How professional is that? 5. Speaking of self check out - you have the hand held scanner - make at least one lane just for people with the scanners - also limit to under 50 items. 6. My last complaint - the have scales to weigh and scan your wilted produce - a little sticker comes out you scan it and right above is a handy dandy clip board where you can put the sticker after you have scanned it. HOWEVER - if you get audited (which is when the machine wonders how you went into the grocery store and only bought 30 dollars worth of things) - the guy at the self check out will argue you with you - the customer - that you should have the sticker with you at all times. When one tries to explain the whole clipboard sticker system - he informs you - "he can't deal with you." Well alright. Last straw. Schmidts and Citeralla are both clean, both well stocked and have better produce. Oh and they both have much better customer service! Well worth paying a little more for your milk to avoid the absolute frustration of dealing with the degenerates that work at the Southampton Stop and Shop. read more

I was in here about a week ago and omg I wanted to vomit. If my bladder hadn't been at full capacity and ready to explode I would have ran out of there. However, I suffered through using the restroom(holding my breath and squatting so I did not have to sit on the toilet). The restroom was NASTY. The baby changing station was open, empty rolls of TP on it, TP on the floor, the TP holder was empty, thankfully there was a roll with enough for probably me and one other person's use. The toilet had stains...STAINS... like it hadn't been scrubbed or cleaned or even flushed in weeks. This gnarly bathroom doesn't match up with the way I think of the Hamptons, regardless of what Hampton it is. I hope the maintenance keeper was not in that day or if he/she was she gets reprimanded. If that is how they keep their restroom then I'm skeeved out to imagine how the rest of the place is kept. NASTY. read more

Every time I try to use the machines to recycle my bottles and cans they are full or broken. The staff are completely unapologetic about this. I like the store otherwise but this is UNACCEPTABLE customer service. I mention the problem when I come to the store but nothing is ever done about it. read more

I just went to the Southampton store and as usual had trouble with the bottle/can return machines. An employee came out and fixed one and walked away ignoring my pleas to fix the can machine I was trying to use. I went inside to the courtesy desk and they would not take them due to Covid (I understand). I then approached 2 supervisors having a conversation and one of them wanted to know how many cans I had because he was reaching for his wallet to pay me out of his pocket. I do appreciate that but he was missing the point-I wanted the employee that ignored me to do his job!!!! He should be reprimanded and taught how to be nice to customers-when I worked at the local hospital we had to attend "sensitivity training" classes every 6 months that were mandatory for every employee of the hospital. The reimbursement rates from the ins co and medicare were based on our Press Ganey scores(reported to and independent company) so we were held to a high standard. The solution to this issue is that someone should service the machines frequently and be taught to be nicer to customers and not ignore them! Thank you for your time. I will be frequenting another store in the next town for now. I am sure they will appreciate my patronage. read more

I visited two Citarellas and one King Kullen and found the most items at this Shop & Stop. They have much more products in stock than the half empty King Kullen in the covid situation, and this is the only store that is delivering. I ordered a few deliveries and am grateful to find a spot. Mostly the slots are all gone but occasionally I have found 3:30-10pm. They do miss a lot of items in my list so I thought maybe they don't have them in stock. I went in-person and they have all those items in stock. I needed milk desperately and was expecting delivery but it didn't have milk. I have been to the store and there is no way they don't have any substitution, some of the delivery people just don't want to look for or bother with some items. I still give it 4 stars because they are the only store delivering and they have a lot of items in stock, but I have to now go to the store anyway because they missed sending milk which was in my order. There is no way for me to go back and check which items were left out of delivery to see if I was charged for it, so I wish their website was improved. I don't know if I will be ordering staple items again, I will probably buy milk in-person and stick with non-essential items for delivery. read more

Stop & Shop should be ashamed of this store. When they replaced Waldbaums, they cleaned up, but went downhill soon after opening. It can't be a surprise to them that the population increases in Summer, yet they allow stock to run out in patches all over the store. Meat supply iffy, no pastina for weeks, shopping carts loaded into handicapped spots. Huge boats of goods obscure aisles just waiting for someone to come along to restock after. Shouldn't that be done before the store opens, or at least very soon after it opens? There is one ultra nice man (maybe Dennis?), a great checker (Sam), a couple of helpful men in the meat department, and a number of other pleasant people, but there are also way too many sullen folks who must feel demeaned by working in a grocery store. It's a bother going to either Hampton Bays or Bridgehampton King Kullen in the summer, but they sure beat Stop & Shop in Southampton. read more
