Customer service desk here is a JOKE. They advertised a pan for $5. We tried buying it, only to be told it was $50. We were told it was a typo on the sign. Apparently, a cashier can't remove an item 'that expensive' so I had to go to customer service for it. They made such a fuss about it, that I just asked for a full refund and left. I definitely will not be returning. read more

We USED to shop here until today. Stop & Shops "digital coupons" are a joke ; good luck finding them, downloading them and using them. The customer service desk tried to help but got frustrated when they couldn't find, Clio or redeem them. Whomever developed the Stop & Shop app and the digital coupons should be forced to try to use them. Screw a store that forces the customer to get frustrated clipping stupid digital coupons; if I have a card already, why would you subject me to something even your employees can't use. Prices for baked goods (rolls) are ridiculously high. Thanks anyhow, heading to the new ShoPRite in Wayne. First time going to this store and immediately the worst and upsetting experience I've had in quite some time. My mother and I stopped by to pick up a couple things on our commute home. I found out after that my mother was HARASSED by the security officer in the store for 20-30 minutes because she "looked like a woman in a picture" - the man couldn't even understand the words printed on the receipt, so how he could've "identified" my mother from a photo while every other person he showed the picture said there was no comparison baffles me! He pressed her on questions that frankly wasn't his or the store's business for that matter. He threatened to call the police, and the manager of the store, from what I hear, didn't do much to rectify the situation. She didn't even receive an apology from this APPALLING mistake. This is and was absolutely disgusting and from this I will never step in this location and the entirety of Stop & Shop as a whole. Corporate will be called. read more

Brand spankin new Stop and Shop! The decor in this Stop and Shop is a lot different than I've seen from other Stop and Shops. First off, they went with polished concrete floors, which actually has a marble look to it. I noticed they use a lot of wood and stacked stone for trim. The store almost reminds me of a whole foods. Like most Stop and Shops, they there's a great amount of automation and technology, like the "scan it" which let's you bag you groceries as you shop and the touch screen deli ordering system which texts you when your cold cuts are ready. There's a huge natural foods section which is two whole aisles long. There's a huge amount of vegan and vegetarian food, organic food and gluten free food. I also noticed that they have big sushi area, where you can watch them make your sushi. This place is definitely a nice addition to the area, the only thing that scares me is that the store is dead smack in the middle of a flood zone. I've been doing my grocery shopping here since it's opened, I would hate to loose it to a flood. read more

I was leaning on giving no stars! This store is AWFUL! I don't even know where to begin. I keep giving it chances but I am done and will never go back. First, always look at expiration dates here on everything. Even time I have gone I have seen expired food out. Potato chips,bags of brussel sprouts, premade veg food items,etc. The deli is the worst ever,they take forever,talk to each other instead of listening to you and they have no clue how to slice cheese! On four separate trips I opened it to find all the cheese shredded up.what am I going to do with that?! Seafood dept has the rudest teenagers working there. They have to be called over and the kid actually argued with me over salmon lol. The cashiers just plain suck. I bag my own groceries but sometimes need help if I have a lot......the dipshit put my salmon into the same bag as my kitty litter! I still have no clue why I switched from the Wayne Stop and Shop. Extremely satisfied costumer. I called the bakery on a Friday for a cake on Sunday. The lady I talked to was very polite. I asked if she had a mermaid theme that she can do. She said sorry we are out. So I asked her to just use the mermaid colors. To my surprise when I picked up the cake it was beautiful and not only just that the cake tasted Great also. Stop and Shop is great if you need a couple of items quickly and live nearby. The produce is fresh and they have pretty good sales. But 1 major problem I have with it is that they use plastic bags and barely even offer the reusable kind. They also have this stupid and annoying robot that is creepy and makes an annoying beeping noise. They say it is there to help clean up things on the ground, but I think it is a big money waste. read more

But had to return something the wife bought and man was the customer service associate extremely unfriendly! No smile, no pleasantries, stared me down and actually gave me the creeps. Ive been coming here since its been redone. This is a great supermarket! Very clean and good layout. With the loss of one major chain supermarket in Wayne and the other way down hill (Shoprite) this place is also a step above the location in Wayne as well. Worth the short drive for us. At first, I wasn't a huge fan of Stop & Shop. I now find it more enjoyable to shop there than at my current job (Fairway Market in Paramus, NJ). Pros the chocolate Danish still great!! That's worth a star. Cons fruit and vegetables rotten!! Went to grab a cantaloupe that was on sale for 2.99 they were rotting. One was missing the top half and soaked the other ones with its rotting juice. Tried to get a head of iceberg lettuce and everyone of them were rotten!! Board of health needs to make a visit!! Also only 3 cashiers and one of those was for 12 items or less. Do yourself a favor and go to shop rite!! read more

This review is solely based of the experience of the bathrooms that seriously need to be cleaned. Not only are the restrooms dirty, smelly, and overall a sad excuse but its difficult to stay in there to use them. I am a regular customer and I am tired of complaining to the staff. One day I walked in and it looked like they power washed the floor all onto the walls and it really made me sick. Its sad also because I love shopping here but if this continues I will look to go to another supermarket. Like common, if your bathrooms are kept like that imagine what else goes on that we don't know about. As far as being a super market, I honestly see no difference from any of the others. The reason I am writing this review is to let people know that this location has more organic and gluten free foods than any other super market in the area. More than any of the other s&s or shop rite. Obviously, it doesnt compete with whole foods, fairway, natures pavilion, or green life. But certain items are cheaper at s&s so if you can get them there, you should. read more

I just had a terrible experience, I was behind an Spanish lady that was trying to send money in western union, the woman at the front desk named Geri was very nasty because she made a mistake in the address, she put so hard the paper on the desk and told her very hard to correct it, after that she ignored her totally took care of another client, she kept moving her head like the client is very stupid, I was going to ask a question but instead I move a little far to observe because Geri was very angry with that person, I just realized she didn't speak good English as she told her, Geri was very contentious, at this point she threw the paper on the desk and told I'm not doing this for you, another woman there told her stop it is ok, I know you are doing your job, and took her name, that made her so angry,I'm upset, Geri was very racist and intolerable, i felt so bad and follow the women to apologize for her and told to call the manager. I will never comeback there to the store on Pompton Plain Rt 23, plain disgusting. The woman was crying outside, She should sue your place I gave her the number to complain. read more
