They fixed the problem with the smell and have had all products available that were advertised. Great store for our small town.

The sandwiches Are very good I don't understand why they can taste so good when they are made here…read more Excellent place , they use freshly sliced meat and fresh bread to make some of the best sandwiches that you would ask for, get a large sub here of roast beef and you won't be sorry. Basic other stuff beer soda chips, etc. you can find it here as well as a lot of old photos of through the years and of when the race track was in business, definitely an interesting place to stop. It's easy to pass by if you don't know it's there just south of where 346 intersects with 7

Winchester's Store in Pownal, Vt., five or so miles south of Bennington, Vt., and just "over the…read moreline" from Williamstown, Mass., on US Route 7, has one of the best deli counters in New England. It's nothing fancy. Quite the opposite: painted cinder blocks and basic groceries, a few coolers for the beer, etc., and a first-come first served policy at the deli counter. Jim Winchester, who has owned the place since 1988, is a careful listener and a superb sandwich-crafter. He takes his time with each order. Meats and cheeses are put on bread direct from the slicer (no pre-packaged /weighed kits here) and are carefully constructed and reasonably priced. Daily specials (the meatball sub or sandwich is legendary and don't miss the seafood salad) join no-frills potato and macaroni and tuna salad in the cooler for side dish options to accompany the truly home made sandwiches at Winchester's.
