I was able to run in and out and get what I needed in a smooth and timely matter. It made me think why are all Wegmans not laid out in the same way, space allowing of course. Their shelves were fully stocked, and the staff was there if needed. I also love that the parking lot was dedicated specifically to Wegmans so there was no additional stores making it a complicated situation. Easy to get to right after the highway if you are in route somewhere and not local.

I am here on a trip now and have noticed the location has gone a bit downhill. I can't go into all the details but it's an overall impression based on a few interactions with employees, the way food products are displayed, the breakfast area looking very sloppy with equipment and supplies left around as well as other impressions. I wonder if management has either recently changed or has it just been a slow slippage. Either way, it's a bit disappointing but I will continue to go there out of necessity.

The cashier at the register (Mikel) explained to me that I made a mistake with my selection. He ran my purchases twice to make the adjustments and got me out of there in no time at all. I headed directly to the baked goods section. First stop cookies. Then started looking for something exciting and new. The pistachio muffin was calling to me - at 1.99 - I couldn't resist. It's a pretty muffin but it must have a ton of calories. I decided to portion control - I want to eat a muffin, not turn into one. It wasn't bad but not amazing either. There were a few pistachio nuts in the muffin but not a lot. It's very eye catching but wish it had more depth of flavor.

Where else can you stroll the aisles with a free coffee in hand, pretending you came in for "just one thing," while slowly filling your cart with items you didn't know existed but now absolutely need. And the rotisserie chicken might be the best financial decision in the whole store. Somehow it's the one thing that feels like a bargain while everything else gently reminds you that quality comes at a price. In the end you walk out with great groceries, a lighter wallet, and the comforting feeling that at least you did it with a cup of free coffee in your hand. Honestly, worth it.

In season the fruits and vegetables are good. Whole Foods is sitting one of the best real estate spaces in Greenwich. They need to bring back the brand names and expand the store. The other stores next to them are lifeless. It would be a big service to our community to expand, buy better name brands, install a small coffee bar, serve real Italian pizza with high quality mozzarella. Keep the bakery stocked with fresh Danish. Whatever corporation that bought the original WF should take stock of what they are doing or sell it to people who really care about running it. It's definitely on the smaller side for a grocery market, but the layout is clean, bright, and very well organized. The staff was super helpful while I was browsing. I was specifically hunting for vegan pastries, and an employee took the time to help me locate some Abe's vegan blueberry muffins. It turned out to be the only vegan baked option they carried, but I appreciated the effort to track it down. Beyond that, their fresh meat counter looks top-notch, and they have a surprisingly solid sushi station and wine section for a compact footprint. That said, the prices are definitely high. You're paying a noticeable premium here compared to surrounding stores for the exact same brands. The fresh produce is priced by the pound, and I legitimately did a double-take at a small pre-cut fruit bowl priced at $12. One quick heads-up on the parking lot: pulling back out onto Post Road is tricky because you can't make a left turn. Skip the hassle and just use the Riverside Lane exit instead. Great for quick, high-end grabs or specialty items if you're in the neighborhood, as long as you're prepared for the checkout total.

From wine to food, desserts to bath bombs, there's lots to do and it's a one stop shop. The supermarket layout is pretty basic and straightforward with enough variety but not too much to overwhelm you. This was my first time in Balducci's and it reminded me (in the best way possible) of a hybrid between DeCicco's and The Fresh Market - but of course, smaller. The owner of the supermarket brand is Albertsons (what a throwback lol!). Expect to buy quality foods, international finds, gourmet ingredients and they even offer catering. Their baked goods like cupcakes and cakes are all imported from other locations but I will say they're delish and great quality.

But the bakery has declined, terribly: cakes and cookies are inedible . Our tiramisu tasted dry and did not seem topped with genuine dairy. Horrible. Though they were expensive we had to throw them out. Same with cookies: looked good but decorated sawdust. The three yonng women behind the counter were almost impossible to get help from, and since everything is behind glass you can't help yourself. I had to repeat my request for a carrot cake 5 times. Ludicrous, she and her mates were completely focused on each other. One them handled the same bonbons in a tray at least 20 times while talking to her pals, turning them over to look busy. Yuck.
