My most expensive item was the bag of laundry pods I needed to do some laundry back at the Air BnB. The cashier was friendly when checking out. Store is clean but busy with patrons. Shaw's sits on the main thoroughfare in Wilmington. Also plenty of parking. Shaw's is in a small strip mall. Getting in and out is relatively easy. I would go here again if I needed anything else.

It was certainly well stocked on a busy Sunday afternoon and fairly clean. The butcher/deli areas were pretty busy. I felt the biggest deficiency was fresh produce, though I imagine this time of year, there are plenty of competing farmer's markets. Given that the alternative is to driver 20-30 minutes to one of the larger cities in Southern Vermont, you can do okay here.

I've been using the grocery pick up at the Ware store since before Covid and I don't think I could grocery shop in a store ever again. I've been spoiled! I use the app to order my groceries and when they're ready I drive up and the pick up crew loads of them into the back of the car. The kids that work the grocery pick up are just wonderful. I've been coming so much that now they know me, and what I like. For example, I like my eggs and bread upfront with me and not in the back. I also go into the store to browse and pick up other items that aren't available with pick up. The store is always clean and usually well stocked. The produce selection is always good and has great prices.

A little more parmesan/pecorino romano and some pepper would go a long way. The fresh pre-cut fruit was affordably priced ($2.50), but seemed unripe when we opted for the watermelon. Very crunchy with little flavor, like it was part of the rind. I guess to me what makes this place worthy of 4 stars is the service. Every time I'm back at the deli counter, there's always a team of employees ready to help. Even the other customers are polite and helpful, helping locate utensils and napkins. I avoid the check-out lines at the front, which usually aren't that long anyway, by paying back at the deli counter. Although the summer is winding down, this Big Y will remain on our radar for next year, where it's just a quick stop off the road-- and easy in and out-- for nabbing some picnic supplies.

Details: Produce: Often fair to good; no real issues other then missing less-common items at times ie; (cilantro, small bell peppers, etc). Veggies are decent and no real complaints. Fruit is also fair to good; sometimes avocados, tomatoes and grapes can be more B quality do to green-packing. Apples are usually excellent with local orchards. Cherries in summer are always fantastic. Meats; typically well stocked; will be outages/missing items at busy times. Pork is is very affordable and often a bargain, overall ok meat. Steak/beef is outrageous (but it is everywhere now) and quality is hit or miss, not alot of stock / selection. Chicken: mostly ok, good selection, usually in stock. hotDogs, hams, bacon, sausage: always fully stocked and good Turkey; never in stock (sad face) Coffee, drinks, almost always well stocked; great selection. Bread isle is probably the worse (still not awful); often un-stocked or missing items; tends to be the more messy isle. Pricing is always moderate range; average full cart ranges at 200-250 range if I am not paying attention. Some price shenanigans; but not awful (they all do it). (My seltzer and coffee beans seem to be hitting inflation like crazy) Staff; always friendly. Lines; not bad, no more than 5mins usually. Covid lockdowns; pretty much gone; no stupid isle markers / arrows, dirty looks or other forced mask mandates. People acting like humans again (always a good thing).
