The ambience has improved every time I've been there. Always great service from a friendly server. However the prices are getting a bit steep by any standard. The list... One soda 4$ One coffee 4$ no refill offered Chili fries were 12 or 14 dollars (can't exactly remember but def high) 2 burgers were high priced but not budget braking. The chili fries were small at best with probably 1/3c. of chili on it. Black coffee 4$? A pint of cola 4$? Wtf! Then on the way out I noticed a $1.99 mystery charge that I inquired about. It was a credit card fee that I didn't see any sign about (could have been posted somewhere but nowhere I was close to). Lunch for 2 was almost $60 without alcohol. I think this place has gotten a bit big for their britches and the appeal that I once felt for this place is now gone. You can overcharge for amazing food. You can also overcharge for generous portions. But you have to give something more than just a slightly quirky location. Better food isn't that hard to find in Astoria and sadly I've given them the last of my money.

The trouble is that this place is extremely over-hyped! We had high hopes based on other Yelp reviews and a feature on Grant's Getaways. The food was a huge letdown! Burgers are frozen pucks with zero flavor and not even seasoned to help make them more appetizing. Way too much sauce, another attempt to hide the poor quality beef patty, so extremely messy. Also, you can order an appetizer of fries for $8 but burgers don't come with them. The burgers lacked any beefy flavor and I felt like I was eating cardboard. For the price, I expected a hand-pressed beef patty made with higher quality beef. $48 for 2 burgers, order of fries, 2 beers. A bit much. Would I return? Not likely. Was it worth the drive from Fort Stevens State Park? No. Would I recommend this place to someone else? Nope!

The eggs looked like cardboard and the other items inside were indistinguishable. They tasted awful and we couldn't eat even half of them. Everything else besides the corn dogs looked way over cooked and very dry. We were using the laundry services. As we walked in and looked around, the floors were scattered with dirt, laundry soap, and other items. There was no paper towels in the dispenser to dry hands. And a good portion of the machines were "Out Of Order". I attempted to use the quarter machine and it wouldn't work to take my dollar bills. I went to the counter to ask for quarters and they couldn't give me any.

The employees attitude sucked. The store looked run down. The "Bean & Cheese" burritos that turned out to be BBQ burritos SUCKED!(so gross!) Seriously, not ONE good quality about this store. It'll save you if you're dying of thirst but just know you'll have those judging old wrinkly eyes staring you down the whole time to make you feel like you're an inconvenience lol

I appreciate having an occasional glass of wine, and expect that it's difficult to find a quality wine selection in a small town that probably depends very heavily upon the tourist trade. Frankly, most towns known for heavy tourist traffic usually don't do well when it comes to what they stock in wines -- they usually aren't that impressive. I was truly shocked to see an excellent selection of highly-rated wines, especially for domestic Cabernet Sauvignon. If you enjoy having an excellent wine, this is the place to find it.

Because we were driving through on our road trip, we decided to make a stop here for a late lunch this last Tuesday afternoon, around 2:15 pm. After we parked, we walked inside and headed towards the salad bar/ hot bar food area. After looking around (there is also a counter that you can order made to order sandwiches and burritos), I ended up deciding to purchase the following: Peanut Chicken Sesame Noodle Salad, $8.99- This was quite a massive portion so I only ended up eating about 1/3 of it and then had the rest over the next few days (I ended up mixing it with some chopped cucumbers and tomatoes that I had to make a large salad). I loved the peanut sesame dressing and noodles in this salad but wished there was more chicken. Mayak Egg Noodle Bowl, $8.99- My husband picked this salad for himself but I didn't have any. He thought it was good and appreciated something fresh, as his bowl had shredded cabbage, like my salad, and cucumbers and shredded carrots. Pumpkin Pie, $6.99- My husband saw this small pumpkin pie and decided to get it because he is such a big fan of it. I actually don't like pumpkin as much as when I was much younger. But I did like this pie and thought the flavors were well balanced, not too overly sweet. ---------------------------------------- (Total= $24.97) I really appreciated that the little dining area (there is also an outdoor dining area as well but because it had rained previously, we opted to sit inside) had plastic bowls and plates available for you to put your food in. This was helpful for me to be able to thoroughly mix my noodle salad since the dressing was mostly on the bottom. Then after I mixed it, I just put it back in the plastic container and only left about 1/3 of the salad in my bowl to eat. If I lived in this area, I would definitely be a regularly of this market (specifically for the prepared food area).
