The showroom is massive and very well-kept. We had a general idea in mind of what we we're after, and there were just so many to pick from. You can tell everything this is extremely high quality, and you sure will pay for it. We landed on two favorites so Sam, who was helping us, sent over quotes of each based on our project. We'll need our island covered and the entire perimeter. It's nice there are different finishing and edge options for different parts of the job. I'll report back on how install goes, but so far KG has been nothing but easy to work with with solid customer service.

My fiance and I spent over a month trying to find the right flooring for our new house. We went…read moreeverywhere and had a very hard time finding something. Given we had a budget, many stores scoffed at us when we walked in and they found out we didn't want to spend $8/sqft on wood flooring. Other places like Home Depot and Lowes lacked the style and choices we were craving...not to mention a severe lack of customer service as well. We were just about ready to settle when a real estate developer told us to try Hunt's Flooring in West Allis. From the moment we walked in, Tony and the rest of the staff quickly turned the frustration of picking a floor into a very enjoyable experience! Right from the start it felt different than the other stores we went into...it felt "right!" Tony warmly greeted us and got a feel for the project we had at hand. He eagerly educated us on different types of flooring, happily accepting the terms of our budget, and steered us in the right direction of the products he offered...which were very plentiful! Tony seemed eager to share his craft...Want to "hear" the difference between a floated vs. nailed down floor? Visit this place just for that amazing experience! What we valued most about Hunt's is that, right from the start, we felt like they valued us as a customer of their store. Before we even started to commit to purchasing something from them, the staff spent a lot of time helping us find the right product for our project...and also allowed us to have alone time searching and talking, free from salesman tactics or distractions. We never felt like we were getting "sold" to...and that was SO refreshing! When we finally did find something we loved and ordered it from them, the customer service didn't stop. Given our budget and my love of projects, I planned on installing the floor by myself. Many other stores, we quickly discovered, dissuade their customers from DIY. Tony was excited we were installing the floor by ourselves, and went out of his way to give us tips and tools to use throughout our project! If we ever need any flooring solution ever again, we will, hands-down, begin our search at Hunt's Flooring. What's more, we HIGHLY recommend anyone in the same boat as us to do the same!! Thank you, Hunt's Flooring!!

Problem: Unfinished Landscaping around a tree left by the previous owners of the house. I believe…read morethey ran out of the granite rock that was meant to go around the tree. I was seeking out 6-8 pieces of large granite stone to finish project. Solution: Brickyard, Inc. Okay, you guys, this place is so F'ing cool!! Seriously. I went to Home Depot the other day hoping that they would have this rock (didn't know it was granite at the time) and all they had were the standard retaining wall stone which I could not have incorporated into my landscaping for aesthetic reasons. I wanted to find something similar to this existing stone. The guy helping me at The Depot told me to check out Brickyard. I am so happy I did. Upon entering, it was a little intimidating because I had never been to a brickyard before (I mean, seriously, who has?) however once we started walking through the rows and rows of bricks, I was shocked by the selection, customer service and the quality of the bricks. But I was not looking for bricks you may be saying to yourself. Correct, I will get to my project in a sec. I was not looking for bricks but what I found was this jackpot of reclaimed Cream City and Chicago Pink brick. If you appreciate Milwaukee heritage, then you appreciate a good Cream City brick building. I often times just stare at the Cream City buildings in awe because of their beauty! So, this company actually SELLS the old Cream City and Chicago Pinks from demolished buildings all over the city. O...M..G...I almost freaked out. Each brick was intricately laid out on pallets and clean of mortar. Yeah. It's insane. The guy working with us told us that they ship trainloads of bricks all over the country, they are one of the only companies that do this. He said the price is comparable to new brick maybe even cheaper in some cases. He said Mo's on Bluemound and Cafe Central were all built from the reclaimed bricks from Brickyard. People looking to replace a brick or two on their historic home/building will find this place a gem, that is for sure. And those wanting to start a new project with Milwaukee's heritage will also find it a place like no other. To finish my project, I brought along with me the stone. The guys helping (so wish I would have gotten his name to give credit where credit is due) told me that what I had was an old piece of granite from the old Milwaukee Streets! He said they used to put the granite down before the bricks. I asked if he had any of this and he of course showed me a huge pile of broken up street granite that was perfect for my project and matched perfectly! I thought I was living a dream :-)
