I'm very disappointed with my experience with this company. I felt like the salesman who came out…read morerecommended a significant amount of work that was unnecessary, and the repair they ultimately offered was extremely overpriced in my opinion. The price they quoted me was around $3,000, and I've included some pictures below. What concerns me most is the lack of trust I now have in their recommendations. I previously hired this company to do tuckpointing work for me. About three years later, I contacted them about touching up a few areas, and I was told the work was already in bad shape. When I reminded them that they were the ones who had performed the original work, the response was essentially, "Oh, we can just repair these couple of bricks. It's not a big deal." After that experience, and now being presented with what I believe is an unnecessarily expensive repair, I simply don't feel comfortable doing business with this company anymore. When you hire a company and spend good money on their work, you expect fair pricing, honest recommendations, and quality workmanship. Unfortunately, that's not the experience I had.

But they took care of everything and even came back out to finish a few spots missed in the initial visit. The whole process was quick too, Milan quoted the repair on a weekend and one of his guys was there within the week. Milan was a very nice guy and his workers got the job done. Overall we had a good experience with Steve's Masonry. I would recommend them for anyone needing this type of work on their home.

I contracted Steve's Masonry Repair LLC to tuck point an 80yr old chimney with decaying mortor. I…read moreasked for the old mortar to be removed and new mortar be placed (tuck point). Steve quoted $1,000. His crew showed up and barely ground out the old mortar (going only a 1/2 inch deep before coating the seams with new mortar). I climbed on the roof and noted the shotty work. I called and texted Steve to discuss. He himself said mortar should be no less than 3/4" to 1". FYI, web says 2 to 3 times the width of a joint. Then Steve scolded his staff for telling me that they only did 1/2" (see photo of receipt). Steve was more upset that I knew the truth about the work they completed then he was about rectifying the job. He wanted me to call Champion (another local biz to confirm his story - i certainly wouldn't trust them either). He refused to adjust the bill and threatened to pull his team without them finishing. Don't trust this company! His team was also very condescending. I am very knowledgeable about construction. They lied to my face and were quite smug while doing so.

I can't say enough good things about Patricio, the lead project manager, he was so methodical and smart about each step, making sure the wall was reinforced, making sure they had the right supports in and then ensuring the wall was straight, secured and reinforced. He made sure to answer all our questions, to walk us through the plan for the day and show us what was done at the end. This was not an easy fix, but they came through with a straight, secured wall and I am so grateful to the entire crew! We also had a drain tile, new sump pump and antimicrobial sheeting installed to ensure the wall stays structurally sound.

Quality of work: I've worked with many masoners before. The work is a 4.5 out of 5 . They also did outside work in subzero weather. They come back to acid wash in 30 days and clean up the brick a bit-longer if this weather continues. Professionally: Keith & crew showed up on time. Were polite. Keith is great with communication. Keith came out right away to take a look at the scope of work and troubleshoot how to get the work done in less than ideal conditions to be on a roof in the Winter. Communication was terrible, quality of work was far below what any homeowner should expect. The workmanship itself was sloppy and created more problems than it solved. Instead of delivering what was promised, the contractor left me with issues that required additional time, money, and another professional to fix. What should have been a straightforward job turned into a frustrating, drawn-out ordeal. I would strongly advise anyone considering this contractor to look elsewhere.
