They neglected to install the countertop up to Wisconsin's state code, and they tried to charge me $379 for them to come out and drill the $29 hole that it would take to make it up-to-code (which should have been done in the first place). We tried getting a new dishwasher installed and were told we need to have an air gap hole drilled to be up to Wisconsin state code as of 2020, and if we install the dishwasher anyways without having the air gap hole drilled, we would be voiding our home insurance in cases of fire/flood due to the dishwasher. When we got the countertops from Badger Granite, they had asked if we needed an air gap hole drilled. I said that our last countertop did not have one, so they told me we don't need it for the new countertop either. I am disappointed that we were given this false information. When I spoke to someone at Badger Granite on the phone about it a few days ago, they said "your contractor should have told you that", but Badger Granite was in fact our contractor, and did not tell us. The contractor from Badger Granite who came out to drill the hole now even said that we would need that done to sell the house. We should have been advised of this, and should not have been responsible for covering any fee except the $29 for the hole to be drilled (as it should have been done during initial set-up, had we been advised that it is Wisconsin state code). They did "reduce" the price to $150 instead of $379 after I explained how ridiculous the situation is, but it shouldn't have been more than the actual $29 price nor should I have had to go through this, if they had just followed and advised of Wisconsin state code.

Pricing came back and it was very fair. Then we met with their design team and their amazing store. We met Martyna and SHE IS INCREDIABLE!! She worked extremely hard to find some cabinet hardware that we ended up loving and you can tell she knew the ins and out of the smaller details of kitchens. After the work began we noticed how friendly, professional and clean their crew was and they were great with my dogs that escaped a few times. I want to stress how clean they were as they took time after leaving everyday to clean up and organize any tools in the corner. The process itself took a little over 3 weeks which was much faster than we thought, and they did not comprise any quality in my eye. Communication was great and I would use them again in a heartbeat. There was a very small issue that arose afterwards and they came out to fix it so that proves they stand behind their work. I called three times, spoke to one of the owners (Karen) all three occasions, was reassured she'd get back to me, sent her the picture of the crack. She never followed up. My son had requested a piece of cut fiberglass from a hardware store on Douglas Avenue. Rather than look to see if they'd received any dimensions, the guy starts rolling on how they don't do these pieces ahead of time because sometimes people don't show up. Fine, I'd said that I figured they would wait until someone was there. Gave them my son's name, and the guy repeated himself about not doing it ahead of time, and if they had anything, it would be written down (waves his arm). He didn't even look, so I said my son's name again. He keeps repeating that they don't do it ahead of time. I told him again, he would have called with what he needed, and that he'd send someone to get it. So he asks me what he needs, and I said again, I don't know, he'd called a hardware store on Douglas with what he needed, and I'm not sure if I'm at the right one. He asks oh, he's not answering? Um, no, I don't even know what shape he wants, and he starts arguing over only doing 90 degree angles... well, squares & rectangles are 90 degree angles, and they're different shapes, and I didn't have a size. I was asking if they had the dimensions that my son called in so they could do it, or do I need to go to the other store. If he didn't remember the name, and there's no paper, the appropriate answer would have been, "No, sorry, we can't help you". Yes, I caught it the 1st time when he said that, and he's arguing about how I'm repeating myself. I was asking if they had the dimensions my son called in, it's a yes or no answer... And if that was a yes, now they can cut it now that I'm here, but no, the dude wants to go on repeat about not doing it ahead of time. So when I finally said I'm not arguing with him, he called ME ridiculous, when he clearly wasn't understanding my question, as a native speaker of Midwestern English. A pre-ORDER is not the same as pre-MADE. Just like you can't get a key cut without coming in with a key, fine, they won't cut fiberglass until the customer comes in to actually buy it... but did they get the request or didn't they? The answer would have been a yes or a no. Not an argument of what they do or don't make at the store ahead of time or not. Their customer service really stinks back there. The cashier was nice, though.
