Absolutely fantastic store! They have great inventory, knowledgeable and friendly staff, and there's always something unique to be found. Stonewall had a newly released firearm that I absolutely had to have, while dealers elsewhere are throwing them up on GunBroker to get top dollar. Stonewall not only held the price where it should be, but they even held it for me while I made the 1.5 hour drive out there from my home - many shops won't do that! I like them. Bought my first gun from them and they were pretty helpful and polite. I can't really say I've run into any "attitude" from any one gun shop in the Northern VA area. With the exception of Dicks in Fairlakes. They have a great selection and the owner must have a connection with the distributors or something to offer the types of gun for the prices he does. As of Wed May 29, 2013 when I went to pick up my gun, he had a Tavor for $2000 and noticed a Beretta Nano for 399. There were a bunch of other goodies in there also, to many to list. read more

I had to lower the Stars from 5 to 2, since my first time walking into the place. I have now been there about a dozen times, and have spent money each time, until recently. I have watched the Customer Service Decline Each time I visited. Each time the Owner would eye ball me, like he has never seen me before, and I could see his contempt. If I purchased something, he felt surprised, and his demeanor changed quickly to a help full person. Now, keep in mind, this happened every time i walked in to the store. I figured after seeing me 10 times within 2 months, he would at least acknowledge that I was quickly becoming a regular. I am 6' 4" and have a very distinct look about me, so I am easy to recognize. The Last time I went, i asked about buying a Class 3 item on my trust. He was borderline outraged, that I even asked, and explained all the bad things he supposedly knew about using a trust. That just tells me he has absolutely no Idea what he is talking about. I'll never go back. read more

This was the first place we went when starting our new hobby of target shooting. Unfortunately I have to say they aren't exactly very customer friendly. It took quite a while of standing at the counter before they even greeted us, and then when they found out the other half of the family had reservations about handling guns, they continued to try and convince her to hold one, not honoring the customers wishes at all. They seem to have a very specific target customer in mind, law enforcement and wanna be law enforcement. Fortunately Frederick County Firearms just opened off of Jubal Early Drive, I can't recommend FCF enough, and recommend that you try and avoid Stonewall Arms unless you have to. I gave them 2 stars instead of 1 because they did have a pretty good selection of handguns and items in the store, just wish they could have been more customer focused and friendly. read more

This store is very organized, clean and has a friendly staff that has always been quick to help out with any questions that I've had. Don't buy here. There are other friendlier and cheaper places. I was denied a gun purchase because of an arrest while blocking an abortion center in Boston 22 years ago. I had no idea that I was not allowed to purchase a gun. I rushed through a purchase at the end of the day in order to keep them from staying to late. My credit card was swiped and then they told me the purchase was delayed. Days later they told me that the purchase was denied and they were keeping 20 percent of the sale. As far as I'm concerned they robbed me of $136. When I tried to dispute the charge with my credit card company, the owner of Stonewall Arms lied and told them he had informed me of his policy. There is a small sign explaining the policy but there are so many signs and posters in the store that no one would notice or read it, especially when hurrying so not to inconvenience store workers. When I asked him why he didn't inform me of his policy, he replied rudely that he shouldn't have to. It's my belief that Stonewall Arms owner thinks I'm a criminal ( he said as much to the credit card company ) so it's ok to rob me. When I asked other gun dealers if they had such a policy they did not. Regardless of what you may think of my stand against abortion please choose a gun dealer who doesn't rob people. read more

Solid gun shop with a focus on tactical weapons. The staff are knowledgeable and the selection is pretty strong. They don't try to sell you nonsense that you don't need. If you want a weapon system for personal or home protection they will sell you something that works, without all the nonsense you don't really need. I am an avid shooter, gun fighter and collector of firearms and I would say that they are the best shop in the Shenandoah Valley. read more

Was in there Saturday (11 may 2013). Staff was frienndly and answered my questions. Asked them to look at 5 different hand-guns/rifles with no problems. felt some of the prices were high, but not out of since with other gunshops. Only reasons they got a 4 instead of 5 is I didn't buy a gun so unable to review that aspect and they were closed on 4 May for the "Apple Blossom Festival" without having it on their website. May list as pricey, but better assesment may be moderate to pricey. read more

Went to Stonewall Arms due to them being a SOT Dealer. Asked about a supressor for my 22LR rifle. Bill stated that he had a few and would do the paper work ATF Form 4 for the supressor, I stated to him that the item would be purchased by a trust which I have used for over fifteen years. Bill the owner stated that he would not sell to me using a trust. I ask why and the answer he gave me was that he had to do extra paper work for the sale. I checked with the ATF and they stated that the only paper work they needed would be supplied by me and not the SOT Dealer. The extra paper to go with the ATF Form 4 was a copy of my trust, and my assignment page with the supressor information on it. So the truth be known is that Stonewall Arms owner Bill has no other paperwork to fill out other the the ATF Form 4, Stonewall Arms just lost a returning customer my friends and others from ever buying or stepping foot in their business ever again. I went to another dealer and pruchased a supressor (same model and manufacturer) and sent the paperwork into ATF and waiting for my Tax stamp to arrive.... Update to come read more

I have purchased more than a few firearms over there years from Stonewall Arms and have no complaints. I have always dealt with the owner and he has always been pleasant to me. He's even thrown me a few freebies. I can't relate to the other 2 reviews aside from the fact that there may be several off duty cops in there at times. I'm pretty knowledgable so I don't usually have questions for him but several times he has been very thorough in answering my questions. He always has at least 10 guns from my short list any time I walk through the doors. I have purchased new and used guns and they were always priced right. Most gun stores are small businesses and can't afford to have that many sales associates so if several people walk in at the same time sometimes you have to be patient. Although there to make a buck I wouldn't call their sales tactics pushy by any means. I have in the past and continue to recommend Stonewall Arms. read more
