With my limited time, Henry quickly evaluated my ability and he catered the lesson to where I was at, while keeping things challenging for me. We progressed through a bunch of exercises and obstacles to keep the session fresh. Henry was very attentive the entire lesson (not checking his phone the entire time) and he also recorded a ton of video that he used to explain on the spot how I could improve. Very helpful. I'd highly recommend Henry to anyone looking for a lesson. He's friendly and a fun guy to have a session with!

He provided me lots of exercises and most importantly taught me how to fall safely! Before moving forward through each of the exercises, he made sure I had the correct idea of technique and form. I can tell he understands the small parts of skating you learn through experience so having a long term skater tell me certain tips made me feel more assured. He also helped me with my purchase of my first board! I can tell he has a passion for skating and working with new skaters! I am so pleased with Henry for helping me start this new hobby! Highly recommend!!

The other day, I came upon Great Oaks Park in San Jose. It was actually away from any major roads, set in a neighborhood. I was there around 5pm, and it was peaceful and quiet. I guess the sound wall does a good job keeping away the noise from nearby Hwy 101. I noticed the Yelp photos were 8 years old, so I decided to walk around and take pictures of the park's features. Some of the park's features: - baseball field - soccer field - skate park - picnic tables w/ bbq griils - kid's play equipment - restroom - basketball courts - large shade trees - benches - water fountain The turf is a little irregular with holes and ruts. The skate park was covered with graffiti. I don't know much about the surrounding neighborhood, but I felt pretty safe there. Located along Snow Drive (x Giusti Dr) Good for kids and groups.

Here is a rundown: 1) Tot Lot & Playground 2) Basketball Court & Softball Field 3) Huge grassy fields 4) Picnic areas w/ BBQs 5) Decent graffiti-covered restrooms 6) A Skate Park The skate park is a really cool addition to this park as it's not something you see everyday. It too is ensconced in graffiti, but I really wouldn't expect it not to be. What's a Skate Park without a little vandalism, huh? For all I know it came that way from the manufacturer. All-in-all not a bad park. Unfortunately the area is rife with gang & other miscellaneous activities (minus 2-star for that) otherwise this would be a solid 4-star park.
