A beautiful and spacious park. The place itself is clean and had 2 parks for children to play. We had gone here for a car show/BBQ. A lot of people seem to come here early to save picnic tables for bdays and events. They had huge tennis courts and surprisingly no basketball courts. There was a lot of places to walk and a ton of squirrels. They had one restroom area and was pretty well kept. I haven't been here before if it wasn't for this event, my family and I would've missed out. It's worth checking out and had plenty of parking. read more

I don't love that the parking was closed off due to tree trimming. Parking outside of the parking lot area left minimal street space. As far as the location it is beautiful and you can see the distant mountains in the background. We came to celebrate a gender reveal and noticed there were only 2 covered pergola sections that were able to be reserved for private parties. So pretty easy to spot the party we'd were attending verses the ghost buster themed party happening on the other end . As far as being a park goes .. I didn't love how some of the play structure windows were boarded up , while the others weren't small toddler friendly either . What I mean by that is there was no window cover or trim to keep kids from leaving forward and potentially falling out. read more

Cute little neighborhood park. I like the vibe and the layout. We came on a random Wednesday late afternoon, so it wasn't too crowded. I like that there is room to run around but small enough that you can keep your kid/kids in sight. Not sure why we haven't gone to this park before. We'll definitely be back. read more

Came today for a nice walk with my dog and it was perfect weather! Sunny with a blue sky with a small breeze. I liked the paved roads and it was nicely maintained. There are tennis courts, benches, two gazebos to host parties (they were both taken today), playground with slides and stairs. Actual definition of a hidden gem. Came at around 9 pm during the winter time and it was an absolutely gorgeous! Such an amazing place for panoramic views of San Jose. Although it is not extremely high up and there are some houses blocking the view, the city lights were absolutely stunning. Another perk of this place is that the neighborhood is actually quite dark so in front of you is the gorgeous view and behind is the glorious night sky. Super quiet too. Absolutely beautiful! I remember hearing about this place in 2007. The park wasn't even open and high schoolers were sneaking through the gates. Now seeing this develop throughout the years is bittersweet. Sweet because I remember running here and taking a breather while enjoying the view, 8 years have passed and the view is still beautiful. What's bitter is that reading the reviews now about how it's a magnet for pedophiles and other treacherous issues. Parking The parking lot is relatively small however there are other parking spots such as the streets or even at the school. Feels I guess during the day it's a safe place and it's pretty nice at night but after reading these reviews, it really creates a dark cloud over this place. I just hope this place will turn into a safe place again. Overall In my books 4.5 stars. It's unfortunate you have to enter this park with caution nowadays. read more

Nice and clean area to take a stroll and exercise. There's a nice playground to take the kids to play. There's even a bbq area. I think you would need to contact the administration office to reserve the bbq pit. You can also walk around the surrounding neighborhood. The houses are beautiful- quiet and safe. read more

Wow, I'm so glad this park is up the street from me. This is a great park! I always find it funny how parks in more upper middle class communities are better maintained than parks in lower socioeconomic areas. Since this park is in a slightly higher status than other parks I've been to, it was definitely noticeably better kept up than others, Lots of activities and space here. They have two bocce ball courts(Astroturf), tennis courts, some amazing climbing apparatuses for the kids, plenty of grass to throw a frisbee or kick a soccer ball, etc. From here, you can enjoy a pretty great view of SJ as well. Quite a place to catch a sunset and I imagine a great place to catch a sunrise as well. Definitely a family spot, but also a cute little park for a picnic with a special someone, outing with friends for some some sports, etc. As for the tables/bbq areas...not a lot of that here. I think other parks would be more preferable for accommodating a large group(especially if you want to sit on benches). There is a small area for that, but all the benches are pretty clustered and one big party will certainly hog them all. read more

I thoroughly enjoy this park. They have plenty of different things to do here considering that it's a public park. There's a children's playground that has very unique rides. They have tennis courts as well. At the very top of the hill there is a large open space that many use in the mornings for yoga/meditations. The walkways were designed for walking in mind, so you'll be able to get a great walk, jog, or dog walk in. There are restrooms located here too. The dog is officially dog friendly with doggy bags, but I suggest that you bring your own as they're always empty. Even though it is dog friendly, you should always have your dog on a leash. That's one of my pet peeves about this park. Also, there are plenty of places and spaces for BBQ's, however you will want to arrive early as this park is very popular and busy on weekends. The crowd on weekends tends to attract more folks who aren't from the immediate neighborhood, so it could look a little rough and thugish. That being said, I've never encountered any problems there either. read more

Beautiful park that was built about 2-3 years ago. It can get pretty crowded with all the families that live nearby. The play structures are nice and there are two separate ones...one for toddlers and one for the older kids. For the most part very clean. There's a couple of tennis courts and a picnic area. You'll find the occasional turd left behind by inconsiderate folks walking their dogs. At times, I feel like picking it up with the doggy doodoo bags and chucking it at the owners. LOL! That's just wrong to let your dog crap all over the park where kids are playing...do it in your own yard! At night, unfortunately, it can attract the wrong crowd. Loud noise, racing cars, graffiti, alcohol, broken glass, etc.. Let's take our park back and report them to the police when we see them. It's the safest way to send them a message that they are not wanted here. read more

Definitely the best public park, I've ever been too. The park is pretty large in size with a variety of areas to explore. It has tennis courts, two different playgrounds, BBQ/picnic area, an area for Bocce Ball, water fountains, bathrooms and a view point that overlooks East side SJ that has an echoing compass in the center of it (you gotta stand in the center spot on). This park offers many things and I've been here for picnics, BBQ's or just hanging out and messing around on the playground equipment. Lots of green grass for your pets to roam around, since they do allow pets as long as their leashed. The sunset is also amazing to watch. It's so well kept here and carefully watched over by police at night. Only downside are disputes over the picnic area with other families, since it is based on first come first serve. read more

I love bocce ball. It's one of the games I love to play. However, playing at my favorite court (Campo di Bocce - Los Gatos) gets kind of pricey. So for $10, I got myself my own Bocce Ball set that was on clearance at Sears! SCORE!!! Now all I need is a court. I was taken to Fowler park earlier this year and found the park to have a nice bocce court. It is also well maintained. The crowd seems diverse and respectful. Pretty awesome all around and beautiful on a nice clear day such as this last Sunday. While trying to find an adventure, we got ourselves banh mis and other Vietnamese goods at Houng Lan. Even though he is a white boy, he schooled me on his knowledge of Vietnamese cuisine. This was awesome since I was able to try some awesome new stuff. But let me digress ..... We decided to have a nice picnic in a park and I thought of Fowler Park since it is near Houng Lan. I also had my bocce set in the trunk of my car, so it was all meant to be. We arrived on a beautiful fall Sunday with the temperature in the high 70's. We sat down on one of the benches and had our dinner. It was really relaxing and was not at all crowded! Then we headed over to the bocce court where we had friendly spectators. They asked us what we were playing and were quite intrigued. I made the spectators laugh because I am quite competitive and was kicking some major ass in the beginning. Then, things turn a drastic turn. I believed I was hustled. I also became a tad dramatic. Haha. UGH!!! The court itself was not as flat as I remembered it to be. There was a slight curvature. I am not sure if this was on purpose, but I didn't mind it at all. It made the game even more fun. A bunch of older gentlemen played beside us and made the area more lively. The only awkward moment was when we were playing, a lady stood in the middle of the court to stretch. I had to tell her we were in a middle of a game, then she went to the middle where the scoreboard was and was doing some weird stretches. It made us giggle a little bit. I don't understand how she can just walk across both games and not notice we were all playing bocce. I guess different strokes for different folks. Since it was fall, it did get dark earlier and we saw the sunset, but the light post provided enough illumination to complete a few more rounds of game. I was trying my hardest to regain my lead, but to no avail. NEXT TIME, I WILL BE VICTORIOUS!!! read more

I remember when this park first opened and I was still in high school. Now, 6 years have passed and I'm old. There are great views here and it's a nice environment to bring your kids, during the day. I've heard from residents during the surrounding areas that there are some delinquent high schoolers that drink and what not at night. Sadly, I think that's expected of park-like areas. Usually come here on walks during the weekends and when I'm working from home. I enjoy the atmosphere and it is a small, but pretty park. read more

This park is absolutely beautiful. Picnic areas, tennis courts, full playground for the kids, lots of green grass, and an elevated platform that overlooks the Evergreen neighborhood. This park is the perfect place for romantic picnics or friend/family BBQs during those hot summer afternoons, birthday parties for kids, or if you are just looking to go for a walk/run in a nice area. When I was younger, my friends would rent out the private picnic section and throw a BBQ. We would then take advantage of the large grassy areas and have water balloon fights, throw around a frisbee, or play catch with a football/baseball. The only reason why I am taking off a couple of stars is because I am extremely disappointed with what this park has become, specifically during the evening. During those hot summer nights or whenever I just wanted to get away from my house, I used to take quiet strolls around the park and overlook the city lights from the elevated platform. Unfortunately, for the past few years, the park has become the prime spot for groups of high schoolers to meet to loiter, smoke, drink, and/or hook up in their cars. These groups often tend to be extremely loud and disruptive to the surrounding residents. There have even been a few instances of vandalism. Ever since I noticed these disruptive loiterers, I have stayed away from Fowler all together. Recently, I was talking to one of Evergreen's police officers and he actually informed me that Fowler is now considered the most dangerous location in Evergreen because of these people. It is really disappointing that only now have people started to address this issue. Security should have been patrolling this area way earlier. If so, maybe Fowler would not have the reputation it has now. Advice: stick to Fowler during the day and stay far away during the evenings. read more

You can sit on the half-arc circle, and watch the sun set over the buildings. This is easily one of my favorite parks. The playgrounds are really nice. I take my little cousins here when they have excess energy to burn off. The tennis courts are nice and the bathrooms and picnic tables are clean. The park is kind of on a hill so it's breezy. There is also a very very lovely view of the city. The only downside about Fowler is the crowd after 8pm. If you come around for a jog or to see the city lights, I suggest you caution yourself. Sometimes there are kids that like to go to the top of the lookout point thing and smoke or drink. read more

My kids and I just attended a birthday party here this past saturday, and it wasnt bad! I expected just the usual run of the mill park, but they had ample room for the kids to roam around and play safely. The parking situation could have been better, but hey - its a park. Theres this thing that shoots water out so the kids could run around and get wet. Granted, I spent a lot of time sitting and chatting with some guests but from what I experienced this park is better than average! Its a bit of a drive from my house, so Im probably not going back anytime soon but if I was in the area I would definitely make a stop so the kids could have some fun. read more

Decided to play at the park this morning and walk one of the chihuahuas. by 11:30 am the little water area for kids to play is already on. You see children in their bathing suits and a parent or grandparents at the ready with some towels tossed over their shoulders ready to wipe them down after a good fun and cool down. :) I think it's lovely that there's something convenient a local at a park to play like that. Tents and canopies are set through out the park today, ready to host a few parties and get together. It's spacious enough over the grass even when all the picnic tables are taken or reserved that pitched canopies and folded tables can be brought for a personal set up. The park is nice and clean compared to other parks close by. Even when I drove by another park, Brigadoon, there was only one table I saw set up for a party. There's also a website to check for other reservations to be made. I believe for the weekend days, it's $180 to be put down and they will put a paper up to reserve the gazebo area of the park for you. Dog bags, please bring some in case they are not provided. I know people use those doggie bags to not just pick up their doggie surprise, but to just take home as well. So, be prepared, bring your own poop bags, there's plenty of trash cans that will gladly hold it for you after you pick up after your own dog. Please and thank you. Restrooms are provided, please don't try to clean grill equipment or dishes in the sink, it's not spacious enough and the water isn't the same as your kitchen running water. As in, there's no garbage disposal to clean food chunks out of the sink, it's the park employees who do. Parking space is limited. Most people park on the curb along the park. Personally, if there's random odds and ends we forget for our barbecue, I just walk to the Neighborhood Walmart a few blocks down, nothing like a good workout going to make room for some awesome grilled yummieness. Warning, bring coverings of any sort, not many trees to provide shades, it will get really hot on a sunny day. read more

One of my favorite parks to go to! Pretty spacious and clean. The playground is nice and big. Different obstacles from other playgrounds. I use to go here in high school to look at "city lights" at night. Decent view of the city although it's not high enough to see everything. The grass area is huge so great spot to fly kites, play foot ball and other activities! Oh and there's this spot called the compass (or that's what my friends called it back in HS) where if you stand in the middle of the circle, you'll hear your own echo!!! Awesome possum! read more

My sister and I decided to go for a walk after dinner and we decided to check out the new park that we used to see in construction. So we got here and this place is amazing! Definitely a 5 star park. It's really big and so nice and new. There are two playgrounds. One is a more kid friendly playground resembling a castle. The other is this futuristic looking, think American Gladiators obstacle- course extreme playground haha. We made a stop in our walk to play on this thing and it was kind of scary with all the ropes and funky/bizarre doodads haha. We walked around the place some more and there's nice and lit tennis court so if you're looking to play at night, here's a place. There was this area with a sign posted displaying "water feature hours" so basically it's one of those water fountain things from the ground that kids can play in. I think the hours were 10-1 and 3-7. How cool is that? Poor man's Raging Waters anyone? haha There's also a place you can up walk up where you can see a really nice view of San Jose city lights. It'd be perfect for 4th of July but it'll probably be packed. In another area, there's a place with benches you can just sit and chill under the palm trees. That's all I really saw, but i'll come back one day during the day and take pics, hehe. It seems further plans for this place includes a community center and swimming pool, but more funding is needed. Nonetheless, the first phase -- the completed park-- is a nice attraction! read more

This is my favorite park in the whole entire world, haha! All their play sets apply physics so well! I seems pretty high-tech and nothing like the ones I used to play on back in the early-mid 90's when I was in elementary! They even have this area for water to shoot out of the ground, PERFECT for hot summer days and nights! The circular area at the top of the hill is actually carefully designed to echo your voice when you stand in the center and yell towards the houses, you should try it! They have a designated area of picnics, tennis, and some kind of a ball game.. crochet? perhaps... The endless field of grass is perfect for a picnic in the sun :) read more
