City parks are important for the health and welfare of its citizens. It provides a chance to exercise, unwind, and have group activities. The other day, I came upon Great Oaks Park in San Jose. It was actually away from any major roads, set in a neighborhood. I was there around 5pm, and it was peaceful and quiet. I guess the sound wall does a good job keeping away the noise from nearby Hwy 101. I noticed the Yelp photos were 8 years old, so I decided to walk around and take pictures of the park's features.
Some of the park's features:
- baseball field
- soccer field
- skate park
- picnic tables w/ bbq griils
- kid's play equipment
- restroom
- basketball courts
- large shade trees
- benches
- water fountain
The turf is a little irregular with holes and ruts. The skate park was covered with graffiti.
I don't know much about the surrounding neighborhood, but I felt pretty safe there.
