This park is a small neighborhood park in an area that really does need it. Right next to the bus stop, senior housing, a golf course, and a very congested neighborhood. Parking is limited but typically plenty considering that you can't park there past 10pm (so people aren't storing their cars there) and most people that use the park are walking to it.
There are no bathrooms, which goes to show that it's not meant for non-local residents. Because it is strictly a neighborhood park the features are limited. There is a small exercise trail with exercise stations, likely created to be used by the seniors housed next door as they mention being careful of rugs in your home you could trip on. There is a small field, a few tables and benches, drinking fountain, and a single hoop basketball court. Never seen poop bags in the poop bag dispensers.
There are two small play structures that are very unique. One slide and everything else is basically for climbing, sitting, or spinning. Out of all the San Jose parks I've been to I think these play structures are the least enjoyable. I can't for the life of me understand one section of the larger play structure that looks like you just lounge on it? I've never seen a child make good use of it.
For being a neighborhood park on the east side, this is pretty clean and minimal weirdos. People walking the dogs sometimes clean up after their dogs and sometimes keep them on leash, but I haven't had a big problem so far. Just watch for the poop, and if you have a dog, watch for the bread that someone keeps leaving out for the neighborhood animals.
This park could stand to be adopted so it can be even cleaner, and could use a new amenity. read more
