Tanner making his rounds

Just returned from a 3-night stay at Stonecroft Inn. My husband and I are already talking about when to return for another visit. Jodie and Scott were fantastic hosts and the breakfast each day was tasty. Good portions, fresh fruit and freshly baked goods also provided. They accommodated my need for almond milk and Jodie remembered every morning without my needing to ask for it. I enjoyed the French toast with sausage the most, you didn't even need syrup. Jodie and Scott also provided excellent recommendations for restaurants and activities to do in the area. We had such a great time. Tanner, the maître-d was a welcomed surprise and a highlight for sure. Our bed was comfy and the linens were the best! We can't wait to return!

My first B&B experience was a pleasant one. I reserved the The Shubel Master Suite for Christmas Day/Night and it was exactly what we needed during a quarantine type of Christmas. The suite is furnished with wood floors and soft carpets throughout, fireside leather loveseat (that can pull out to a twin bed), a nice size armoire, a private balcony, a small writing desk, and large mirrored dresser. The bathroom is one of the largest you'll ever see (fix the door though) a bidet, a super-sized walk-in shower, and heated towel rack. Open the shutters of the two-person whirlpool tub and enjoy the flickering gas fireplace. Situated on the top floor of the Yellow Barn, the Shubel Suite offers privacy from all other rooms and provides the ideal accommodations for an unforgettable getaway. Highly recommend. Will return.

A lovely, charming, quiet stay. We booked 3 nights in the Lily suite for our Mini-moon. 2-person Jacuzzi and the gas fireplace were highlights. Our French doors opened up to a deck overlooking the immaculately kept grounds. Although it's not considered a private balcony like the suites upstairs have, you're far away from other rooms so it was very private. Our room was so clean and homey. We had a tv to watch dvds (great selections!) and free WiFi. Weekend breakfasts were delicious-love the muffins & crumb cake. We even got to meet Tanner! We got the honeymoon pkg that included massages, roses, strawberries & Prosecco, a $100 voucher to a seafood restaurant, and tix to Mystic Seaport. Thank you Jodie & Scott for a wonderful stay. We'll be back!

We booked the Briar Rose room for our 10th Anniversary getaway. Never staying at a B&B we were a bit nervous. Jodie & Scott took that away in our first meeting. Clean room- amazing Innkeepers- delicious breakfast- well kept & beautiful grounds. Close to Mystic - the Casinos & we even took a road trip to Rhode Island. We highly recommend this property. Looking forward to a return trip. Thank you both!

We had a really lovely stay for our four year wedding anniversary. It was the perfect little getaway. We had the Orlando room with the 2 person jacuzzi, everything was incredibly clean, the grounds were beautiful, and breakfast was delicious it was plentiful and home made. The owners were very nice and accommodating. Bonus points for inn dog Tanner! Thank you for a beautiful stay

My wife and I were looking for a B&B to celebrate our 30th anniversary. After looking at places in RI, Mass and CT, we finally decided on Stonecroft Country Inn. And were we glad we did! Both myself and my wife are VERY particular where we stay. We look at many of the small details that are overlooked by many places... Not the case here Even in the off season with no leaves on the trees, the grounds and environmet are welcoming. We rented the "Sarah Suite" and felt right at home. Our host was Scott (owner) who was doing double duty as his wife Jody was away. Scott was a very cheerful personality, that (you could tell) his heart was deeply into this B&B. He told us the history, and gave us a tour of the whole beautiful place. Our room couldn't have been cozier if we had built it ourselves. Every detail and possible need was covered by them. The layout perfect! A cozy sitting area was available for my wife and I to enjoy a movie together after returning from dining out. The bed was super large, billowy, and comfortable. And the bathroom... No lack of sinks for starters! Equipped with a large whirpool tub that overlooked the tv area. The shower was enormous as well! Heated towel racks, and plenty of towels. Getting sleep was easy as the area is very quiet to say the least. The next morning we had the most incredible breakfast ever! Coffee and tea to start with fresh baked banana nut muffins warm from the oven. Fresh fruit cups paved the way to the main course.. Stuffed French toast, Sausage, and the best Hash browns I've had in my life! (The French toast was as well!) Each course timed perfectly and served hot.. The dining room was warm and welcoming and we ate our breakfast by the fireside. My wife and I are really looking forward to a return visit here soon! If you're planning a visit to the casino, this is a great place to stay! Convenient to both Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun, it beats any of the hotels there. And looking for a change of scenery, it isn't even that far a drive to/from Providence as well.

This has been our weekend getaway since our now adult children were very young so 20+ ish years. The place feels mostly the same although the owners have changed over the years. Never fear - you'll be in good hands with Jodie and Scott and their friendly dog, Tanner. We were snowed in with the weekend blizzard and they couldn't have been nicer - offering extra food and snacks and making sure everyone had everything needed to be comfortable. Generous and delicious breakfasts are cooked fresh and seconds are offered. The rooms are airy, light and quite spacious - though we usually book either the Sarah or Shubel, which are the largest. Downtown Mystic is a short drive away and offers many fine restaurants and activities. If casinos are of interest, Foxwoods is closest but Mohegan Sun is not much further. There are wineries nearby also. All in all, this is a place to relax and escape the day to day.

Stuffed French Toast and sausage for breakfast! Delicious!

Can I give a six star review?…read more We've stayed at expensive hotels this year in Philadelphia and Chicago and this experience is head and shoulders over those. Huge room, comfortable, quiet and cozy. 6 star The quiet, do we even have anyone in the Inn or the town? The insulation is top notch. The dark The ultra sleeping experience. I guarantee the owner slept in this room at least one night to get feel for the room and make those little touches. How many hotels do you go to where the shades don't keep out the light or that the various clocks and smoke alarms and power strips and wall outlets all have bright led lights on them? How many times have I draped a sock over something. Not here, even the clock has a bright, dim and off option. I love a blacked out room and very very rarely get one. The shower - powerful and hot and oversized. Wow. Massive bathtub with jacuzzi option, wow. A well hidden TV, a really nice touch. We don't want it dominating the room. Bed, I've returned 3 mattresses after purchasing them at my house so I am picky and this bed is elite. Huge comfy chairs, comfy robes, this room has it all and the a/c is powerful. Resort 6stars Wine and cheese and fruit and cracker happy hour, bring $5 to tip Susan, she is a cheerful conversatalist. Breakfast is massive, don't plan to go anywhere else for brunch or breakfast. Highly recommend it and the seating areas are many, inside and out. Staff - great recommendations and Beatrice drew upon her knowledge of growing up in the town. Plus they had a ready list of 5 places to eat to walk to, so nice. The town, what a find, a classic NE town, they filmed mystic pizza here. So quiet and so much to do! Good amount of folks walking around, plenty of sites to see. Love it here.

I am so excited about this gem of a bed and breakfast. The house itself is absolutely beautiful…read more Approaching the house is a well appointed garden and steps up to a wrap around porch with a lovely gazebo that would be perfect for relaxing with a drink and listening to the birds in warm weather. From the porch, you also get a peek at the Mystic River and the Mystic Seaport. (I could see the Mayflower which was on a lift at the seaport for repairs-absolutely charming.) When you walk through the front door, you are greeted by artwork, books, and a parlor off to the right. There is a baby grand piano, tuned and ready to be played in the parlor. I just loved all the hand painted details by a local artist. It is a cozy, happy room. Walk straight through the front foyer and you enter the dining room which has coffee, teas, and water available 24/7. There was a plate of cookies on the table that were home made and out of this worldA scrabble game was set and ready to go. A well rounded breakfast menu was posted and you can order whatever you like, all home made including the granola. I am gluten free and Josephine was so accommodating. I even discovered a new GF bread that I thought was better than most I have tried. Josephine has a talent in the kitchen to say the least. Everything was delicious. There is a lot of local information on where to go and what to do. OK- now, the Mermaid Room This is not a large room but it has everything you need (including a little fridge) and the hand painted walls are an absolute study. To think one young lady produced all that art, a talent to be admired. There are 3 more rooms upstairs but I wanted to be on the main floor. I found the location perfect. It is not on the main drag so it isn't noisy but just walk a couple of blocks and you are right in the middle of downtown Mystic with all the glorious restaurants, cute shops, and a drawbridge over the Mystic River. 100% charm. See how many mermaids you can count‍. I will definitely go back. I would like to go on a river cruise next time. I am recommending the Mermaid Inn to all my friends and family.

The amenities are top notch, still with a touch of sweet whimsy. The modern, granite bath/shower, in the Blue Room, was complimented by a beautiful mermaid mural. The mantle was decorated with a charming mermaid fresco. The soft shades of blue made for a serene environment & I slept like a baby on the comfy white, wrought-iron bed. Breakfast was delicious! Challah bread French toast with a medly of berries one day, a delicious lobster quiche on another. The Inn is Victorian, the theme is all things mermaid but, the heart of it all is the proprietor & hostess, Ms. Josephine! She could not have been more welcoming & accommodating. Thank you, Josephine, for a restful & rejuvenating stay at your lovely Mermaid Inn!

Nowhere on the web site does it state that kids aren't allowed in this property. Furthermore, the…read morehome page features a picture of a child swimming, so obviously it didn't even cross my mind that it would be an issue. You don't find out until you've gone through the entire booking process, and only then will you find out if you happen to read through your entire confirmation. Also, the policy isn't clear - it just says they can't accommodate children because they don't have additional beds? I travel with my six year old and we usually share a bed, so I thought maybe they would make an exception for us. When I tried to call for clarification, the phone just rings and rings - no one even answers. I finally had to call the Residence Inn and the front desk girl told me there definitely weren't kids allowed in the mansion - but beyond that, they didn't handle the bookings and that I'd have to contact booking.com to try to cancel. Thank goodness I happened to notice before we actually went to the location. I don't have a problem with the policy - I have a problem with it not being stated ANYWHERE until after they have your credit card number. Imagine if we'd shown up and had nowhere to go? Thumbs down. Also, I won't mention what I do for a living, but given this mansions "haunted" reputation, I will say they just missed out on a huge opportunity for exposure.

We arrived and it was by no means what we expected. We got into the house but there was no one there and no one answered the phone when we called. Another guest told us we had to check in at the Marriott. The house is from the 1700's, so that was cool. The room was a little darker than I'd like. It had only 1 lamp to light the whole room. The bathroom on the other hand, had 3 lights, which was helpful. Bed was comfortable and complementary breakfast was also a bonus.
