I quickly learned after being on team for two years that this gym is EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL. The thousands of dollars we paid for meet fees weren't fully used to pay meet fees, its was kept by Southern. After realizing what has been going on behind the scenes and the addiction issues the family that owns the gym has, i had to quickly move my kids to another gym, paying a whole new load of fees. Southern charged me for may tution, we left end of April. When reaching out to southern to get my $300 back, they declined. But they have no problem keeping the hundreds of dollars we gave for meet fees that were never even paid for the meets. This gym is extremely unprofessional and is not a safe place for children or your money.

Unfortunately, our experience was the opposite. On July 28, 2025, my daughter was verbally attacked by another adult inside the classroom. This woman shouted directly at my daughter, treated her harshly, and even snatched an object out of her hands. When I respectfully addressed the situation, I was also yelled at and disrespected by that same adult -- in front of other parents. Even worse, the instructor present did nothing to intervene, later telling me, "I was with other kids and couldn't do anything." I submitted a notarized formal complaint and demanded action within 48 hours. Instead of a resolution, I received delays, vague responses, and excuses. To this day, no apology has been issued, no action has been taken, and my child's emotional safety has been ignored. I have since canceled my membership and strongly urge other parents to think twice before trusting this location. Children deserve protection, not silence.

My oldest is now 10, he began going at age 2 when they were connected to Great Beginnings. They are now at 211 PIB, FYI. My younger two have gone since they were infants and I think we've had 3-4 of their birthday parties there. The owner & her staff have an amazing ability to connect with the kids & teach them skills while having a blast in an encouraging, safe environment. My boys have also gone to their summer camps & LOVED them, and we've taken them to countless Kids NIght Out events so we could enjoy a dinner/movie. Such a lifesaver if we decided last minute to do something & didn't have a sitter. My kids are now in school full time & several different sports and I now work FT, so we no longer attend classes. I just really appreciate the years they put into teaching my kids & being so caring and attentive. The owner has 4 grown kids and she always told me funny stories, and really understood how crazy & busy my life with 3 little boys was!! Also - 1 time my mom was visiting and had a terrible fall there. She was quite shaken up & very embarrassed. I had an infant in a car seat carrier at the time + a toddler who was there in class. The owner immediately came over to help my mom up, got her ice, offered to call an ambulance, etc....just totally put my mom at ease and that was priceless to me. Thank you so much, Metro Gym!!

I'n my opinion an exception should be made to the "policy" to allow the child to make up her class even if the following months payment was not made. It makes you wonder is it about the money or the children. Outside of that little hiccup all has been well. Hopefully, there won't be a note bad weather to force the closing of the business.

But my daughter is shy and 2 classes in, she hasn't done much because she's got to warm up to it and we expected this. I know that in time she will warm up and everything will be good. So why the 4 stars if my kid hasn't done much? Because they are patient with her and try to to include her and encourage her and every once in a while, they get her to do something and for that, they get nothing but my praise. As an aside, the facility is home to the Georgia Tech and Emory gymnastics teams so sometimes they are there practicing and that's kind of cool to watch.
