This was a neat little stop and has the old country store vibe. They have some supplies for camping/ fishing and some other cool little items as well as food and ice cream. The staff didn't really acknowledge we were there ,even when we ordered ice cream. Kind of cold shoulder-like. They weren't rude just kind of grunted when we ordered our ice cream. read more

Camping in Stone Mountain we stopped for lunch on the way up. I had a great fried bologna sandwich and my wife enjoyed her chicken sandwich. On the way out, after summitting Stone Mountain, we felt we earned ice cream cones. The servings are enormous. I don't know how they can fit two scoops because one scoop is like three at most places. My wife asked for a small scoop and the guy working tried to charge her less (she refused). Note: They have a masks required sign on the door. While we were eating outside we saw a guy wearing an olive drab green Under Armour "Freedom" shirt go in without a mask on. He immediately exercised his freedom by leaving the store empty handed, presumably being given the choice to mask or leave. read more

I'm so glad we visited this little gem outside of Stone Mountain State Park! This cute little cabin has everything you need for a pit stop before or after a day you hike around Stone Mountain. They sell food, drinks, ice cream, and essentials like firewood and bags of ice. I loved the ice cream so much that I came back 2 days in a row. It's hand scooped and you can get it in a waffle cone, cake cone, or cup. The scoops are a generous size. Trust me- one scoop was easily the size of 2 or 3 scoops elsewhere. Plus, they have a great variety of flavors from strawberry cheesecake to turtle tracks. I highly recommend the black cherry. I was also surprised to see the meal prices. You can buy 6 chicken nuggets for $1.50. So cheap! Lastly, I love the environment of this place. The people are friendly, and the wrap around porch is adorable quaint. It's the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing time with friends. read more

Upstairs, there's a gallery of local art. You can fill up with a burger or fries. But be sure to save room for their ice cream -- about 8 flavors to choose from, and you can have it on a cone or as a milkshake. I'm a sucker for the peach which is so creamy and has chunks of real fruit. The cookies and cream has plenty of cookies in it too. The Stone Mountain Country Store outside the Stone Mountain State Park is a great place to stop and get a snack and drink coming to or from the park. I had a chance to come here after a day of hiking and they had some refreshing drinks that really tasted good on a warm day. They have an old fashioned soft drink refrigerator that still works really well and I liked reaching in there and getting a drink. I really like the vibe and atmosphere of this store as it is a true country store that has everything you need to get by on a country day. The staff here is very friendly and can answer any questions you have about the local area and are very helpful. This country store is awesome I enjoyed my visit here. read more

We were so disappointed after a long, hot hike at Stone Mountain State Park to find that the server was scooping ice cream without wearing gloves. He was even touching the ice cream cones without a glove. So needless to say we turned around and walked out. Just hope the next time we are there it is more sanitary. read more

Just what we needed after a long morning of hiking in Stone Mountain State Park. Unassuming log cabin you'll pass on your way to the park office. Rocking chairs on the porch are an ideal spot to sit and stay a while. This country store is dimly lit and very quaint. Locally made jams, soaps, and arts and crafts line the outer walls. You can buy snacks and souvenirs (like mugs and hats) here. They also sell some camping and fishing basics (including a relatively large selection of Lodge cast iron) in case you forgot something at home. There is a small dining area with a few tables for guests. Seemed like a mix of locals and visitors hanging out. My husband and I each ordered a cheeseburger with fries. Can't remember many of the other menu items except pizza and chicken tenders -- simple stuff. The burgers were pretty basic, but hit the spot, and the fries were hot and crispy. No complaints for this cheap lunch. Several other patrons were enjoying ice cream cones topped with massive scoops. Next time I'm at Stone Mountain I'll be sure to try one of those. read more

We came here after we hiked the stone mountain loop and let me tell you the ice cream definitely helped us! I had a moose tracks milkshake which was pretty good. It looked super packed coming in but it actually wasn't. Everybody was just hanging out outside socializing. read more

This was a nice little stop on the way to Stone Mountain State Park. A place where you can pick up some odds and ends for camping or fishing or candy OR AWESOME ICE CREAM!!! So good and they are VERY generous with their scoops, almost too generous (as if that could actually happen with ice cream, lol). I got a scoop of black cherry in a cup for $2.50. There are about 10 flavors to choose from and you can get it in a cup, regular cone or a waffle cone. We had barely made it to the door and people were already being friendly. read more

A perfect pit stop after a day hiking around the Stone Mountain State Park, or a good spot to grab anything you forgot to bring. It's an odd set-up inside, with a counter on the right where you order food from, and then a little further down they have an ice cream cooler. I had a burger that was fine, nothing remarkable, but good. We both had waffle cones after, and whatever ice cream they were peddling was really smooth and fresh. They obviously have the cooler at exactly the right temperature, because the ice cream texture, which I think is critical, was perfect. Also, it's pretty cheap too, so makes for a nice addition to a free day at the park. read more

They will not make a grilled cheese. Makes no sense when they have all the materials. We visited with six children. After some discussion we ordered a cheese burger, hold the burger and they agreed to make it. Unfortunately that did not include warming the cheese or bun. When we asked to have it warmed they put in a microwave. At that point it was not eatable. We still had to pay for a cheeseburger The rest of the food turned out to be pretty good.
