Beautiful hotel, just 20 min from Niagara Falls, ON.

This inn/hotel is beautiful. Check in was a breeze as I had booked online. I took the elevator to the 2nd floor and immediate noticed the beautiful wood doors on all the rooms. I was welcomed to my beautiful room by a few great smell that I cannot quiet describe, however, it was feminine yet masculine scent. The room was spacious and had all the essentials. The WiFi password is on the inlet for room keyword so I didn't have to fumble around the room looking for that information which was a plus. The bed was comfortable, sheets were clean and the shower was relaxing. I would recommend anyone needing accommodations near Niagara check this place out.

Here for a dance competition while things were less than ideal - it was fine. Bonus - world gym is a 5 min walk and they have a week pass for $30. Got in a decent lift and skipped the hotel gym.

I had a relatively good stay here, but it certainly wasn't without its issues and annoyances. KEEP…read moreIN MIND THAT THIS HOTEL IS CURRENTLY UNDERGOING RENOVATIONS AT THE TIME I WRITE THIS REVIEW. As a result, numerous disruptions and some frustrations occurred during my stay here. I was put in a suite on the 6th floor of the hotel. To start this review off on a positive note, I was happy to see that the entire floor had its renovations already completed. They look absolutely beautiful! The room was quite clean, nice, modern and spacious. The lobby, compared to the images posted here, looks a lot more welcoming and homey. The location of this hotel is cool in that there's a bowling alley and arcade attached next door! Great for those who want to have a fun night. Now I'll get into some of the problems/annoyances I encountered while here. The first one is of the elevators. This hotel has a weird elevator layout in that there is either one elevator in the lobby or at the end of the hallway where the rooms are. That's very annoying because that means when the elevators are busy, people have to wait for minutes just to go up or down. Of the annoyances that were most significant, as a result of the renovations, power was cut for a few hours and the WiFi was turned off temporarily, also for a few hours, due to upgrades. Let me be clear: these sorts of things can happen at any hotel, but it's how the hotel manages these situations that matters most. Although a notice about these events was placed at the front desk, I was not made aware of these two events happening. This was obviously a major inconvenience that could have been avoided had the hotel communicated this better, such as slipping notes under each person's hotel room door to inform such people of the disruptions. That obviously never happened so it caught me by surprise. Another major issue was the construction workers who would either take the elevators out of service, or prevent guests from using the elevators due to the equipment inside they use to renovate the hotel. Very inconvenient for guests who either stay on high floors, or need the elevator to transport equipment of any kinds! I'd certainly stay here again, but only once the renovations are complete and only if the hotel improves its communication to guests better. The hotel has the potential to be one of the best Holiday Inn hotels to stay at, it is currently going through some growing pains with the renovations right now and probably needs some management shake up to improve communication with guests.

The ambiance includes fine china teacups and saucers, along with three-tiered dishes, classical music, and cloth napkins. The tables and chairs were comfortable, along with a display of various tea ornaments, which included some for sale as well. The food was absolutely wonderful; everything was homemade, which included an abundance of cookies, two different types of scones, and large tea sandwiches on different types of bread (e.g. salmon on a croissant, cucumber and cream cheese on raisin bread, etc.). The food was fresh and well-prepared! Service was top-notch; we were given the utmost attention during our stay, even conversing with our waiter about the various events that the tea room had hosted over the years. Was impressed with how knowledgeable about tea our server was, and passionate as well. Will definitely recommend this tea room to anyone looking for an authentic and delicious tasting experience!

The tea selection was great, a variety of non-caffeinated versions of regularly caffeinated teas (Non-caffeinated English Breakfast and earl grey). Will definitely be returning in the future whenever we're in the area! I appreciated the reminder to bring our own takeout containers (although I still forgot them, will try to remember for next time).

The Margarita pizza had way too much salted sprinkled on top of the pizza and blatant store sauce with now flavour. Hubby and I often go solo or with friends to enjoy and check out new dining or wineries. Honsberger has become a fave for us. Their patio is wonderful and a good size. They have a quite large fully covered area to the side of the main building, plus then another patio area with tables that have umbrellas. Their pizza is excellent and done in an outdoor pizza oven. They do have other items (mains, salads, appetizers), that are prepared in their main kitchen. One thing we have noticed is that things are taking a bit longer in the Covid world. This is we assume due to precautions taken with cleaning etc. So -- do be patient and just enjoy. We find that they always have some interesting cocktails with their wine as a basis, and some are available in pitcher size as well as by the glass! Reservations for the patio are available via the TouchBistroDine app. You won't find them on OpenTable. The staff are pleasant and knowledgeable. Parking is available at the back and on the side. You do need to have face masks until you get to your table.
