Weird place, but worth a stay!…read more We were stopping by St Catharine for a couple of days to peek at the 2024 World Rowing Championships and this looked more interesting than the other available hotels. It's basically a converted mansion. Our room was very comfortable with a modern bathroom (shower stall only, no tub), but had antique-looking furnishings. Modern keypad entry lock though, which was good because we didn't see any staff during our stay. It's weird because there was no front desk and our first night there was only one other car in the parking lot. It was busier the second night but we still never saw any guests other than in the parking lot. It was fun wandering around the beautiful building and grounds. It's also right next to a trail if you want to bike or hike. Only negative was there was no coffee machine in our room, but they had coffee and Tim Horton donuts downstairs. You could also hear water in the pipes in our room when another guest was showering, but overall it was pretty quiet.

Their other ice wines are good also but my favorite was Vidal w full flavor and smooth taste. Only 12% alcohol content but I can't taste the alcohol which to me make it a really good wine and is great for me bc I prefer almost zero to 5% alcohol. They also sell jelly and soup and tea and cookies among other snacks. Open and free parking as well as free WiFi. Their fried ice cream for Discovery Pass was amazing. No one make fried ice cream in most places so this was a treat!

Good for everyday drinking (even cheaper than some of my large format beers!) The staff here is all really welcoming and the pour definitely really generous! I was though not too crazy about their Iced fruit wines, maybe for slush making? We ended up picking up 2008 Gewurztraminer ($9.95) & 2010 Cabernet Franc ($16.95). The ground though not too glamorous but has this older rustic country vibe! Pro Tips: A lot of bus tours stop here and the tasting room is quite small to handle the crowd. Don't go in when you see any buses parked at the parking lot, would have save you a lot of time!

Hubby and I often go solo or with friends to enjoy and check out new dining or wineries. Honsberger has become a fave for us. Their patio is wonderful and a good size. They have a quite large fully covered area to the side of the main building, plus then another patio area with tables that have umbrellas. Their pizza is excellent and done in an outdoor pizza oven. They do have other items (mains, salads, appetizers), that are prepared in their main kitchen. One thing we have noticed is that things are taking a bit longer in the Covid world. This is we assume due to precautions taken with cleaning etc. So -- do be patient and just enjoy. We find that they always have some interesting cocktails with their wine as a basis, and some are available in pitcher size as well as by the glass! Reservations for the patio are available via the TouchBistroDine app. You won't find them on OpenTable. The staff are pleasant and knowledgeable. Parking is available at the back and on the side. You do need to have face masks until you get to your table.

The ambiance includes fine china teacups and saucers, along with three-tiered dishes, classical music, and cloth napkins. The tables and chairs were comfortable, along with a display of various tea ornaments, which included some for sale as well. The food was absolutely wonderful; everything was homemade, which included an abundance of cookies, two different types of scones, and large tea sandwiches on different types of bread (e.g. salmon on a croissant, cucumber and cream cheese on raisin bread, etc.). The food was fresh and well-prepared! Service was top-notch; we were given the utmost attention during our stay, even conversing with our waiter about the various events that the tea room had hosted over the years. Was impressed with how knowledgeable about tea our server was, and passionate as well. Will definitely recommend this tea room to anyone looking for an authentic and delicious tasting experience!

From the time we met with Laura Mulholland at Paletta Mansion, she was incredibly helpful, positive and just a joy to work with! The service staff through the Oakville Conference Centre made sure that the day went off without a hitch.
